Everyone said it at the same time, “No! You can’t have too much. seasoning!”

Winston felt so helpless.

During dinner, Winston told Mandy gently, “Mandy, please go to the horse race with me over the weekend. I will ask Neil to bring some gowns to your room. You can take your pick. If you don’t like any of them, I will ask someone to send more to you.”

“Winston, do you really want to go?”

Mandy looked worried. “Your condition had only stabilized not long ago. Julien said you should rest more. Let’s forget about the race this year.”

“No, I have to go.”

Winston was open to compromising his diet but not his business. The KS Group might be the cream of the crop in Belbanks, but we have yet to do the same in Solana City. KS Group’s standing in Solanal City is less secure than the Walsh and the Schmidt Group.

“So, this is a rare opportunity to show up. I must take it. Plus, I’ve already told Vic I’m coming. I can’t back out now.”

Winston could become the richest man because he was an absolute opportunist.

Alyssa had perfectly taken after her father’s strengths.

She could have been famous for being Jeremy’s ex wife Yet, she swept everyone off their feet by being the Queen of Pseudonyms. “Winston, I have something to talk to you about

Alyssa casually took a sip of water and suggested, “Why don’t you attend the horse racing event with Lyla?”

Caught by surprise, Winston had not anticipated the request from his daughter. Lyla immediately explained as she blushed in nervousness,” L-Lyse, I turn down these social events because they give me the jitters. I’m not good at small talk and might make blunders. It might be better if Mandy attends. Colene could be an excellent choice as well.”

Alyssa poked through the lie, “But you seemed quite happy when your attended mass. It was crowded there, too.”

“I …” Lyla pressed her lips until they paled.

“Winston, bring Lyla with you. I can’t possibly attend the race with your every single year. The media will make an issue out of it again,” Mandy advised after seemingly catching onto Alyssa’s plan.

Winston furrowed his brows and looked at Lyla deeply. He inquired in a hushed voice, “Lyla, are you upset?”

Lyla shook her head vehemently.

He gently took her trembling hands under the table and clasped them. “You have always refused to attend public events. I never insisted on it because I thought you disliked socializing. I didn’t want to burden you. Just tell me what’s on your mind. I’ll try my best to fulfill your wishes.”

“Winston, I have nothing in mind,” Lyla replied, tears brimming in her eves eyes.

Winston felt sorry for Lyla’s helpless response. He thought he had traumatized by what happened decades ago.

All the while, she had pretended to be fine to spare him the worry.

Finally, Winston decided to attend the horse racing event with Lyla. For that, he instructed Neil to prepare a suitable outfit for her over the night.

Everything seemed to be proceeding smoothly according to Alyssa’s plan.

“Lyse!”

After everyone left the dinner table, Lyla ran after Alyssa. After some hesitation, she asked meekly, “Why… Why do you want me to attend. the horse race this year?”

“Lyla, you can’t hide away forever like an invisible figure. That is utterly cruel and unfair to you. You used to be this lovely and dazzling beauty. Have you forgotten how the media hailed you as the n s bombshell?” Alyssa remarked, fixing her gaze on Lyla.

She couldn’t help but feel a twinge of bitterness for Lyla, who ha enjoyed great fame as a beautiful actress only to be reduced to a humble housewife.

To Lyla, Winston was her savior, and she appreciated the Taylor family for accepting her as one of their own. As a result, she willingly sacrificed for the family without a word of complaint.

Lyla managed a wry smile. “That was in the past. My boss had crafted my image. I never thought I was better than anyone else. All I could do was sing and act. I was no different than any employee at work.”

“Regardless of the past, you shouldn’t be haunted by it. It’s time to be a good role model for her!”

Lyla was touched by Alyssa’s advice. At the thought of Tatiana, Lyla experienced a newfound strength in her body, which lifted her mood.

She smiled with guilt. “That’s right. I’ve been too weak. As a mother, I need to be strong.”

Alyssa took her hand and chuckled by her ear. “There’s more to come. Just look forward to a special gift from me on that day.”

Meanwhile, Jeremy discreetly positioned his men in Solana City to monitor the movements of the maid who was responsible for Anne’s death.

On the other hand, Jeremy suppressed news of Jeffrey Snyder receiving medical treatment, and the prisoner who had attacked. Jeffrey was under arrest as well.

Not long after, Xavier received a call from the warden, who exclaimed, “Mr. Walsh’s foresight is amazing! I’ve had people secretly poke around about Jeffrey Snyder these two days. I did what Mr. Walsh instructed and released the news of Jeffrey Snyder’s death from the prisoner attack.”

“That’s great. Thank you for your help. Mr. Walsh will reward you handsomely for it,” Xavier replied, after which he relayed the updates to Jeremy.

Sitting in his office, Jeremy was lost in thoughts while he stared at his lock screen background, which he had set to a photo of a bare-faced Alyssa sunbathing on the balcony when they were living togethe

He couldn’t help but smile tenderly as he traced her profile.

“Wow! Madam is so pretty. No one would be able to resist her

Xavier craned his neck and admired Alyssa’s photo with excite in his eyes.

“Yeah. She’s so pretty…” Jeremy muttered before suddenly slammin his phone on the table. “Did I permit you to look at it? Move.”

“He-he! Aren’t we all attracted to beauty?” Xavier replied while straightening up and scratching his head awkwardly.

“Oh, you’re talking about attraction now?” Jeremy’s expression hardened as he gave Xavier a death glare.

“Ahem, I only have admiration and respect for Madam,” Xavier

Jeremy finally relented. “What’s the matter?”

Xavier silently groaned. It appeared that Jeremy had missed everything he said from the start. He had no choice but to repeat himself.

Upon hearing Xavier’s report, Jeremy remained unfazed because everything was under his control. He mused, “The only way Sophia would drop her guard is when she believes Jeffrey Snyder is dead. Only then will she let down her guard and slip up.”

Xavier nodded vehemently in agreement. After some hesitation, he wondered aloud, “Mr. Walsh, why don’t you visit Madam in Belbanks if you miss her so much? She’ll see you if you show up. I believe she misses you as well.”

Jeremy had been consumed by his longing for Alyssa. He had the urge to immediately meet up with her at that moment, but he held it back and shook his head. “It’s alright. She rarely has family time. I don’t want to take away what little time she had with her family.

“Besides, Mr. Taylor will know it if I visit her in Belbanks. I think… he doesn’t want to see me at the moment.”

Xavier felt sorry for Jeremy but couldn’t find the right words to console him. However, Jeremy took a deep breath and, seemingly comforting himself, rolled his fists and muttered, “It’s okay. I’m sure Lyse and I will overcome any challenge. We have time.”

Upon learning about Jeffrey’s death, Betty started dancing wildly in the villa out of joy. Upon seeing that, the maids were shocked, wondering if Betty had also inherited her mom’s craziness.

The first thing Betty had to do was, of course, show off her success bedroom and tuna of the light of the city chatted in the

bedroom and turned off the lights as they excitedly chatted in the dark like two rats in the gutter.

“What? Is Jeffrey Snyder dead?”

“Yes! It came from the warden’s mouth, so it must be true.

“That’s great news!”

Sophia stroked Betty’s hand, praising her, “You’re the best. You did well in this matter. I will have to thank you.”

Betty’s voice turned icy. She wondered, “Mom, do you remember your promise to me?”

After a pause, Sophia groped her way to the drawer by the headboard. in the dark and took out a leather envelope, which she tossed to Betty.

Betty immediately picked up and held the envelope to her chest, asking, “Mom, what’s this?”

“Take a look after this.”

“I can’t wait any longer!” Betty shot up and left the room without another word.

Sophia suddenly stopped her. “Wait.”
