Jeremy chuckled lightly as he gazed at the shut door. He was holding back with all his might right now.
It was night by the time they returned to Alyssa’s home.
Before Alyssa could even take off her shoes, Jeremy had impatiently lifted her by the waist and marched upstairs.
“Hey, put me… put me down!” Alyssa yelped, arms locking around. Jeremy’s neck.
Her red high heels fell off her feet and down the stairs as she flailed in his arms.
“No,” Jeremy murmured. He pecked Alyssa on the nose, hearing how. shaky her breaths were. “You don’t have any excuses any more, Lyse.”
“Excuses? What excuses?” Alyssa stammered, cheeks flushed red.
“I’ve recovered fully, and you’re not on your period.” Jeremy swallowed, his eyes feverish. “How else can you deny me now?”
Alyssa recalled how they had spent the past weeks behaving like mere roommates. They hadn’t had sex, not even a single time.
Jeremy had signaled to Alyssa about it several times, but she always used his injuries as an excuse to stop him. When they were on the plane, it was Jeremy who satisfied Alyssa with his hands while he had to hold it all in. It was quite sad, really.
Alyssa was soon pressed into the bed by Jeremy.
He was panting as he fervently kissed her on the lips. Alyssa pressed both hands on his trembling chest, mewling, “Did … did you recover just to do this with me? Is sex all you want from me, Jeremy Walsh? I’m not some toy for you to release your desires on!”

That’s why I hope the rest of our lives together can be in the honeymoon phase forever. I hope that I still have the energy to kiss and hug you when we’re older.”
Alyssa’s eyes slowly watered as she gazed at him.
“You… Are you crying, Lyse?” Jeremy wasn’t sure where he’d misspoken. He only knew to apologize. “I’m so sorry, Lyse. I won’t touch you again, I won’t…”
Before Jeremy finished speaking, Alyssa wrapped her arms around hist neck and kissed him on the lips.

“The scenery is wonderful, and the food delicious. Thank you for sponsoring my trip, Ms. Alyssa. I’m back in the city now, though,” Tristan said warmly.
“You’re back? Why is that?” Alyssa asked, surprised.
“I couldn’t stop worrying about you overseas.”
Jeremy’s gaze darkened as he sneered. “Hmph.”
Alyssa shot him a look before saying to Tristan, “Where are you staying now? Let me arrange someplace safe for you.”
“There’s no need to go to the trouble, Ms. Alyssa. I’m alright,” Tristan said. He then said in a lowered tone, “I’m actually back because Sophia should be on the tail end of her drugs by now.”
“Oh?” Alyssa asked with a brow quirked.
“Sophia will likely contact me again once her supply runs out. I’ll give her a bigger dosage. After using it, I’m sure all her energy will be depleted. She’ll be near the end of her line by then.”
“Thank you, Dr. McAlister,” Alyssa said. She then said solemnly, “We just have to wait a while longer. Victory is right around the corner.”
Just then, Jeremy’s phone rang. It was a call from Xavier.
He rinsed his mouth and grumpily answered the call. “What is it?” “Good news, sir! Jeffrey Snyder wants to see both you and Madam!”
Xavier’s booming voice traveled far, allowing Alyssa to overhear it.
“Dr. McAlister, I have something to attend to here. I’ll contact you again after!”
Alyssa hung up hurriedly. She immediately looked at Jeremy with gleaming eyes.
The corners of his lips turned up slightly. He stroked the top of her head and asked, “How did he finally come to his senses?”
“Just last night, Jeffrey was attacked by his cellmate. He was stabbed in his neck with a toothbrush! Lucky for him, some competent prison guards on patrol came by. Only then was he saved in time!”
Jeremy looked straight into Alyssa’s eyes. “How is his condition now, then?” he asked.
“He was transported to the hospital for treatment. Once he surpassed the critical period, he made a fuss about meeting you and Madam. My guess is that he was scared shitless!”
Xavier sniggered coldly, “He has just been in prison for a few days, and there’s already been an attempt on his life. How is he going to get through the 20 long years in the future? No question, he wants to crawl to you both to beg for a way out!”
Alyssa’s eyes lit up. In her glee, she tiptoed, put her arms around Jeremy’s neck, and then gave him a loving kiss on his cheek.

Alyssa touched the tip of her nose to Jeremy’s and complimented, ” You really calculated all the moves that evil Sophia has made. That’s my Jeremy.”
She no longer held back her praises to him.
“I could think of that because I have you, Lyse, my better half. Your exceptional intelligence gave me a realization. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have thought of such an idea.”
Jeremy gave her a peck on her lips, then continued, “Sophia fell intol the trap. But the main contribution was that you made use of the comments section to push her. She had a guilty conscience. That’s why she thought of silencing him.
“However, I really didn’t expect her to act on it so quickly. She is currently grounded by Javier. Ronald and Jeffrey have also been arrested.
“I’m surprised she could still find someone to do the work for her even without stepping out of the house. She really does have many people who support her.”
