River turned to him. “If the two of you manage to find out the reason, it’s not my concern then. After all, I didn’t betray Paige.”

In truth, she wanted Noah and Alex to know about this because she did not wish for Paige to suffer alone.

Noah loosened his grip. “I’ll wake the children.”

“Alright.”

River washed up and headed downstairs. She walked out of the villa and called Paige.

[

Paige picked up after a long while and said hoarsely, “River.”

River asked, “Paige, have you spoken to the doctor in the hospital?”

“Yes. I knew Alex would look into this for sure,” Paige answered.

River said, “You were diagnosed in Grand East Hospital, which Noah owns. The doctor won’t be able to hide it for long if he wants to know.”

“I’ll be moving abroad in the afternoon. River, it doesn’t matter if they know or not,” Paige said.

River was astounded. “Why are you in such a rush to leave? Paige, you’re still recovering from the abortion!”

“I can’t stand it anymore, River. I just want to leave!” Paige cried.

River heaved a sigh. “I won’t stop you if you’ve made up your mind. I hope you can be well, Paige.”

“River, we’ll always be best friends no matter where I am,” Paige said.

“We will, for sure! I’ll send you off at the airport later,” River said.

“It’s fine. I don’t want Alex to know,” Paige said bitterly.

River said, “Okay. I respect your decision.”

River looked up to the blue sky after ending the call. She remembered the four of them watching the fireworks. She naively believed that such days would continue forever, but things had turned out contrary to her wish now.

Noah stood in the children’s room with a frown, observing his two sons, both sporting dark circles under their eyes.

“I don’t want excuses. I just want to know why you stayed up all night,” Noah said sternly.

Tyler pursed his lips. “Do I have the right to refuse to answer any question?”

Axel patted Tyler’s shoulder. “Just say it. We have to tell sooner or later anyway.”

Tyler glanced at Axel. “You can say what you want. I won’t.”

Axel nodded and was about to explain when Noah interrupted, “Don’t tell me, Axel. Let Tyler tell me.”

“Why should I tell you? You’re in no position to dictate what I do. Don’t think you can meddle in my matters just because you’re with Mommy!”

Noah stared coldly at him. ‘What a defiant boy!‘

Noah smirked. “You’re my child. Why don’t I have the authority to dictate what you do as your father?”

Tyler was stunned. ‘Has Mommy told him the truth? is it because of last night’s incident?‘

Tyler turned away. Even though he had also been worried last night, he couldn’t bring himself to accept Noah!

Noah’s smile broadened upon noticing Tyler’s silence. “Why? Don’t you want to call me ‘Daddy‘?”

Liora leaped out of bed after the commotion woke her.

“I’ll call you if Tyler won’t! Daddy!” Liora held out her hands at Noah.

Noah was shocked his daughter addressed him as ‘Daddy‘. He suppressed the bitterness in his heart and carried Liora with an affectionate gaze. “Hmm, I heard that.”

Liora hugged Noah’s neck tightly. “I can finally call you Daddy. I’ve been waiting for this day way too long.”

Noah patted her back.

Tyler darted a displeased look at her. “You turncoat.”

Liora turned to him angrily. “How am I a turncoat when Mommy has already admitted it?”

Tyler sat on the bed cross–legged with a resistive expression. “You’re still a turncoat anyhow!”

“Even if you refuse to acknowledge it, Daddy is still Daddy!” Liora grunted.

Tyler was rendered speechless.

Axel said smilingly, “You were very worried about Daddy too last night, Ty.”

Tyler said, “I wasn’t!”

Tyler jumped off the bed and walked to the bathroom.

Noah didn’t stop Tyler but waited for him to wash up patiently.

Tyler stared at him quietly. “Fine. It’s okay to tell you since we’ve been busy with your matter anyway!”

Noah nodded and beckoned him to speak.

Tyler walked over and turned on his and Axel’s laptops.

He told Noah, “You should-“

“Shouldn’t you change your address before you speak?” Noah interrupted him.

Tyler clenched his fists. “I need time, okay? Also, don’t you know it’s very disrespectful to interrupt someone’s conversation?”

“If you want to talk about manners, you should learn to address me properly first,” Noah corrected him.

Tyler might not be calling him Daddy if Noah didn’t push Tyler.

Tyler took a deep breath. “Is this word so important to you?”

“It’s because you’re my son,” Noah said in a deep tone.

Tyler couldn’t be bothered to dwell on this issue too much. He would abide by his mother’s intention since she had already come clean.

It wouldn’t cost him anything to do that anyway!

Tyler said, “Sure, Daddy. Please listen to what I’m about to tell you!”

Noah smiled contentedly. “Please go ahead,” he said.

Tyler shared their recent observation with Noah.

“I believe your IT department has also noticed it. The other party is constantly provoking you, and I think it won’t be long before they take action.”

Noah’s expression turned solemn. “I’m aware of it, but there’s no way to track them because their IP

location is untraceable due to constant virtualization.”

“That was before. I feel they’re about to be exposed soon!” Tyler pointed at the red dot on the laptop.

Axel interjected, “Can I ask you something, Daddy?”

Noah looked at Axel. “What is it?”

Axel asked, “Does your IT department keep any data records of previous firewall bypass incidents?”

Noah frowned. “I believe not. However, I can get them to prepare a report if needed.”

Tyler nodded. “With a detailed data report, we can identify which company the other party intends to attack.”

Noah said, “You don’t need to intervene in this matter. You’re still growing, so you’re not allowed to stay up late.”

Tyler and Axel were rendered speechless. They exchanged a glance, understanding each other’s intention not to follow the instructions.

However, they could only agree to their father’s order in his presence.

Noah walked outside with Liora in his arms. “It’s time to go downstairs for breakfast.”

Noticing Noah leaving, Tyler told Axel, “Both of you are going to spoil Lia sooner or later!”

Axel smiled. “She’s our only sister/after all.”

In the afternoon, Reuben called a press conference at MK.

Noah walked into the conference room in a black suit, exuding a reserved presence at 2:00 p.m. sharp.

The journalists frantically took photos of Noah as soon as he showed up.

Noah sat down on the stage, glanced at the journalists, and said, “I would like to announce something today.”

The journalists took notes seriously.

Noah continued, “My father, Chairman Draco De Marco, will permanently step down from MK starting today.”

The statement caused a huge stir among the journalists.

“Mr. De Marco, is this the chairman’s own intention or yours?”

“Mr. De Marco, if this is your intention, have you discussed it with the chairman in advance?”

“May I inquire if the shareholders‘ meeting has been called? Does that mean the chairman will have no further involvement with the MK Group going forward?”

“Mr. De Marco, how did you come to make this decision?”

Noah did not answer the journalists‘ questions but told Reuben softly, “Please remind Neil to head to Shortly after Draco left the study, a bodyguard hurried over, wearing an anxious expression.

Draco was already in a bad mood, so he instantly lost his temper at the sight of the bodyguard’s panic.

Why are you making a big fuss out of it?!”

The bodyguard exclaimed, “This is bad, sir! There are many police officers out there!”

Draco was stunned. “What?”

The bodyguard repeated, “There are many police officers out there!”

Draco’s expression changed drastically. “Why would the police officers be here?”

Draco was about to send the bodyguard to stall for time when he found that the police officers were already heading toward him. Suppressing his puzzlement, he calmly observed the approaching officers.

A detective, identified as Captain Hank Pearl from the Criminal Investigation Division, approached Draco and brandished his identification. “Hello, I’m Captain Hank Pearl. We received a tip–off about your involvement in a homicide. Please come with us!”
