Finding A Good Husband
Danika was speechless.She had walked in there expecting to talk about her resignation, but here they were, discussing future husbands.She looked at the documents on the table.
Graham even opened the folders for her neatly, so she would see their photographs on the covers.
They were indeed young and handsome, but she had no intention of finding a husband.
“You’re thinking too much.” She smiled dryly, not knowing what to say.
Graham, on the other hand, didn’t think so.
He explained, “Since you’re uninterested in managing the company, these are the people I’ve specifically chosen to nurture.Wouldn’t it be perfect if you married one of them?”
The corners of Danika’s lips twitched.
She couldn’t smile at all.”Pretty much.”
“I know you’re not too happy about it, but this is just a suggestion.If no one here catches your eye, you can bring over one you like, and I’ll nurture him step by step.I’ll let him take over the company.”
Although Graham trusted these men, they were not part of his family.He would be more at ease if the successor were his own.
Danika didn’t want to argue with him.It was still early, so she responded carelessly.
“Alright, whatever you say.”
“Are you agreeing to it?” Graham smiled.
“Agreeing to what?”
Danika shook her head.She had not agreed to anything.
“To find a good husband that will take over the company,” Graham said.
He couldn’t bear to let Danika become part of someone else’s family tree.
Who would run the business if Danika married someone outside their circle? Danika rubbed her temples.
“How can I guarantee that? What if they don’t agree to it?”
“Well, find someone who does.”
Graham was upset.
If Danika left and Graham retired, his days would be filled with endless fighting with Rowena.
The thought of it sent chills up his spine.
Danika sighed, replying, “We’ll see when the time comes.It’s too soon to say anything yet.You’re still young; you can take charge of this company for another ten years.”
“Young? I’m already old.I’m not young anymore.” Graham sighed.
He didn’t think he was young at all.
Danika didn’t want to press the topic further.
She said, “This seals my resignation.I won’t be coming to the company anymore starting tomorrow.”
“Alright, whatever you say.”
Graham nodded, not stopping her.
“Well, I have to go.”
James was waiting downstairs.
She couldn’t let him wait for long.
Graham knew at once why she was so anxious to leave.He waved her off, adding, “Please just try to keep a distance from James in case Jolene comes looking for trouble.”
Although he knew that his daughters did not see eye to eye, Graham hoped that they could at least tolerate each other once Jolene married James.
“I wouldn’t be the one to start the trouble.If she does come to bother me, I won’t hold back.”
Danika felt the need to make this clear in case Graham thought she was merciless later on.
Graham sighed.He understood what Danika meant.
“Alright.”
“I’m going to leave now.”
Danika waved and left, walking out of Graham’s office.
Graham watched her leave and sighed, shaking his head.He couldn’t bear to think of the sight of his two daughters fighting to the bone.He had to marry Jolene off quickly.
At least they would see each other less and wouldn’t fight as much.
Rip Her Face Apart
Walking out of Graham’s office, Danika didn’t go down immediately to get James.
Instead, she went to the sales department to find Adrian Caiman.She suggested dividing her performance bonus for the month with everyone in the department.
“You’re joking, aren’t you, Danika?” Adrian could not believe what Danika said.
Danika’s performance that month had broken their records.
With such a huge bonus, even if it were divided, everyone would get a significant amount.
Danika smiled, shaking her head.
“Of course I’m not.I won’t be coming to the office anymore starting tomorrow.Thank you for looking after me all these days.”
Adrian was stunned but came back to his senses quickly.
“You’re too generous.I didn’t do much.You’re very capable.”
He knew very well that Danika was destined to be the heir of Zellweger Inc.
This was the future president he was talking to.He couldn’t anger her.However, he could not suck up to her.
After all, he had worked with her for a while and understood her personality more or less.She wouldn’t mind if someone didn’t suck up to her.
But if someone deliberately attempted to win her favor, it would backfire on them.
“That’s that, then.You can help me notify the others.I’m not going to say anything.”
Danika would be there for a long time if she did.
James was downstairs, and she couldn’t let him wait any longer.
Adrian nodded.

Danika could tell that he was expressing his loyalty to her.She didn’t reject it.

The car moved.

On the other side of the city, in James’ villa, Jolene put a lot of effort into preparing lunch.
She had never cooked in her life.
These few days, she had been tormented by James.
Not only did she have to prepare meals daily, but she also had to be scolded if she messed up.She felt as if she would collapse at any second.She looked at the four dishes on the table.
They probably didn’t taste very good, but it was edible, at least.
