Alyssa was lounging on the couch with Tatiana, her legs folded together. Beside them, Sean stood with a fruit plate in hand.

Appearing relaxed, Alyssa slowly fed a piece of cantaloupe to Tationa. She asked, “Sean told me that this woman had insulted you before? And that she had made some terrible insinuations, too.”

Brie began quivering, frightened. She felt cold as ice right now.

Alyssa’s bearing was so imposing that Brie felt nothing but suffocating terror!

“That’s between me and Brie, Lyse. I can handle it myself,” Tatiana said after taking a deep breath.

It was an insult to Alyssa for her to even be seeing Brie right now. Tatiana really didn’t want her to be further involved in this situation.

“You’re such a darling sister, Tatiana. I know you just don’t want me to worry.”

Alyssa lovingly caressed Tatiana’s hair, saying gently, “I’m really glad you’re so considerate about me, Taty.

I

“But don’t feel bad just because I’m helping you deal with this woman. I want you to treat it as a lesson from me so you know what to do to those who disrespect you from now on.”

Brie began quaking even harder. She had no choice but to wait for Josh to rescue her now!

Finally, the doors opened. Josh walked in with Morgan trailing behind him.

Sean’s gaze darkened, recalling how Josh had humiliated him the other night.

“Sir!” Brie cried, her tears messing up her makeup. “Please save me, Mr. Josh! I was framed!”

Josh’s expression grew rigid.

He had never been loyal to Clarissa when it came to his private affairs. He had met Brie when she had appeared at one of his clubs two months ago, and it was during that time that they had hooked up.

To Josh, Brie was like junk food. Once you were done with it, you could just toss the bag away as if nothing had ever happened.

However, little had he expected that she would make her way here and even drag him down with her!

Josh’s deadly gaze made Brie stumble backward, feeling frightened.

“What’s the commotion about, Ms. Alyssa?” Josh asked with a polite smile, turning to Alyssa.

“Your girlfriend broke into our hotel, injured my secretary, and insulted my sister.” Alyssa’s expression was calm, but the smile on her face didn’t reach her eyes.

“After some thought, I decided to call on her handler before dealing with her so we may settle this with both her and you, Mr. Josh. I can tolerate most things, but not when someone hurts my family.

Josh’s smile froze on his face as his teeth ground together. He hadn’t expected Alyssa to disregard their family connection and tie him at the stake, all for that lousy woman, Brie.

“Lyse…” Tatiana murmured worriedly, tugging at Alyssa’s gown.

“I’m afraid I don’t understand what you mean, Ms. Alyssa,” Josh said.

The smile on Josh’s face was tinged with frost. “I’ve only seen this woman once in my life and have no reason to come to her defense. Why would you wish to settle her issues with me?”

“M-Mr. Josh… “Brie stammered, her face pasty, as she gazed at Josh. She had pleased him so thoroughly in bed a few days ago, yet here he was abandoning her so easily!

“Oh? In that case…” Alyssa’seyes narrowed into sly crescents.

“You wouldn’t mind if I took Ms. Caldwell out to the main hall for a stroll, would you? To let everyone, and especially Madam Clarissa, get to know her?”

Brie was scared out of her wits by now.

Meanwhile, Josh paled instantly. His gaze grew hostile. “What is your intention here, Ms. Alyssa?”

“Nothing much, really.” Alyssa leaned against the couch, her gaze just as hostile.

“One should always refer to the owner before reprimanding their mutt. I only hope the owner of this one knows when to reprimand them themselves. I’m only a young woman, after all. It would be terribly rude of me to do it myself, no?”

Ah. So that was it.

Josh understood now. Alyssa wasn’t only getting back at Brie. She was also getting back at him.

It had been ten years since they had last met, and there were no grudges between them. So why…

All of a sudden, Josh glanced at Sean.

Oh, so that was how it was. It looked like Alyssa had found out about what had happened the other night.

All bite and no bark, this one!

“P-Please help me, sir.. please!” Brie begged, stumbling over to Josh’s feet, only to be held back by

Morgan.

“Apologize to Ms. Alyssa and Ms. Tatiana,” Josh said with a glare.

“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry… I made a mistake before. I’m so sorry!” Brie cried, pleading on her knees.

Tatiana gazed at Alyssa, her eyes filled with admiration and respect.

Josh was Schmidt Group’s president, the one person on par with Jeremy Walsh in Solana City. But that didn’t matter when Alyssa was concerned. Whether they were a Schmidt or a Walsh, everyone would fall

“Do you think a mere apology will suffice?” Alysas asked frostily.

Josh slowly stroked his chin, nodding at his secretary. “Morgan.”

“Yes, sir.”

Morgan instantly understood what his boss meant. He went up to Brie and slapped her without hesitation.

Brie yelped in pain, falling to the floor, Blood filled her mouth from the multitude of slaps she received.

Tatiana’s heart lurched. She quickly looked away.

“Don’t be scared. I’m here.” Alyssa held Tatiana in her arms.

She turned to Sean and said, “What are you standing there for, Sean? Can’t you see that Tatiana needs some consoling after being so frightened? Get over here already.”

Tatiana immediately blushed.

“Ms. Alyssa, I… Sean’s expression shifted quickly, his heart pounding in his chest.

“Alright, time’s nearly up. You can console her outside, Sean.” Alyssa then led Tatiana out of the hall.

Before stepping out the door, she said, “This hall is especially hidden from public view, Mr. Josh. Most people usually stay out of its way. I’ll leave it to you to do the needful.”

“But do hurry. The celebration is about to begin.”

The door slammed shut behind Alyssa and the others.

Ten minutes later, Josh and Morgan walked out of the hall. The former’s watch was still stained with blood. A woman’s wails and sobs of pain could be heard in the hall he had just left.

“Clean the mess up.’ Josh instructed Morgan.

“Yes, sir!”

“Alyssa Taylor really is something.” Josh emanated a frosty air as he cracked his knuckles.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve met someone who dared challenge me. If she wants to play, I’ll play along with her.”

Alyssa felt incredibly satisfied after getting revenge for Tatiana. But the latter still felt uncomfortable.

Knowing this, Alyssa gave her and Sean some alone time. The two went to the balcony to freshen up after the whole ordeal.

Sean took off his coat and wrapped it around Tatiana’s shoulders, since she was quivering in the cold.” Here. The wind is stronger here.”

“Did you … tell my sister about the other night when Brie messed with me?” Tatiana asked, slowly turning to face Sean. Her gaze was filled with a mix of emotions.
