Audrey briefly thought that the driver of the blue car intended to kill them both!

Bang! With a bang, Henley was thrown against the windshield.

Fortunately, Henley had strapped Audrey into the seat and was protecting her, so Audrey was not injured.

Otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable if Audrey had gone head-on.

After a brief pause, the car behind them started up again. Buzz! The sound of the engine made Audrey flinch.

Audrey, terrified, felt her heart pounding in her throat.

The blue luxury vehicle did not hit Henley’s car again, but its engine continued to roar, as a kind of warning.

Henley, with a grim expression, returned to the driver’s seat and prepared to start.

The next second, Henley slammed his foot on the accelerator and his car shot forward.

The blue luxury vehicle pursued him relentlessly, its driver deftly overtaking Henley’s and forcing him to brake sharply to avoid a collision.

Henley, however, did not stop the car. On the contrary, he followed suit and accelerated to catch up with the blue luxury vehicle.

It seemed that the driver of the blue luxury vehicle had prepared for this.

He slammed on the brakes, but kept the engine running.

The two vehicles raced down the road and neither was willing to yield.

Audrey, terrified, pleaded, “Henley, stop! Please! Stop the car! Let’s get out of here!”

At that moment, Henley exuded an uncontrollable sense of danger.

His face contorted as he snarled, “Audrey, I won’t let anyone have you, not even in death.”

They both knew Cornell was in the luxurious blue vehicle.

Audrey couldn’t help but wonder if Cornell intended to kill her at that moment.

She tried to deny it, but fear made her body shake uncontrollably.

The two cars continued their dangerous dance and the roar of the engines terrified Audrey. He was on the verge of losing his sanity and his face turned ashen.

In an instant, the blue luxury vehicle gave way, pulling ahead.

Then Henley accelerated through the opening.

Audrey, gagging, shouted, “Henley, stop! Stop the car now!”

Henley’s gaze hardened as he watched the blue luxury vehicle in the rearview mirror, his face a mask of cold cruelty.

“If I can’t beat him this time, we’ll die together!” Henley declared chillingly.

“What the hell, are you out of your mind?” Audrey was absolutely dumbfounded. “Henley, have you lost your mind? I don’t want to die with you.”

What did he mean by that, why would he succumb to such a fate?

Henley turned to her, however, with a grim smile. “You’re right. We’ll survive this together.”

Boom. Suddenly, he accelerated the car to full speed.

Approaching a sharp U-turn, Henley abruptly changed lanes, attempting to overturn the blue luxury vehicle.

Cornell reacted quickly, turning the steering wheel sharply to avoid the collision, and his car skidded to a stop.

After yielding because Audrey was still in Henley’s car, Cornell cursed himself for falling for Henley’s ploy.

As Cornell prepared to drive again, a loud crash resounded.

Henley’s car had crashed into a dock at high speed.

Suddenly Cornell’s complexion turned ashen, a deep fear gripped him from within. His hands, clutching the steering wheel, trembled uncontrollably.

He tried twice to get up, but found no strength to stand.

Struggling to stand, he punched his leg to regain his concentration and ran out of the car.

Henley’s car was wrecked, with a crumpled front end, deployed airbags and a fuel leak. The situation became dangerous.

Cornell, frantic, yanked open the door and froze at the sight.

Henley, bloodied, was shielding Audrey, impaled by the fence braces, with his body.

Audrey, in shock, was carefully extracted by Cornell. She seemed almost unharmed, the blood on her clothes was not hers.

A few moments later, Audrey realized that Henley had saved her at the crucial moment.

As the car drove toward the dock, he had prepared himself for the worst.

Unexpectedly, Henley pounced on her and protected her. Her previous adjustment of the seat saved them from the worst of the impact.

Audrey was speechless. Although Henley had wanted to take her against her will, he sacrificed himself to save her.

His emotions were torn between resentment and gratitude.

Tears came to Audrey’s eyes. He implored Cornell breathlessly, “Please save him…”.

Despite his anger towards Henley, he could not bear to see him die.

Henley, despite his actions, had not intended to harm him.

Cornelll’s face darkened, haunted by the image of Audrey in Henley’s embrace.

He moved to assess Henley, whose face was deathly pale.
