Since someone was afraid of his return, he was all the more determined to go back.

“During the time you were missing, did anything happen to you?”

Danika still didn’t know what exactly happened to Eustace during his disappearance.

Eustace raised his head to look at Danika.

While he could tell from Danika’s eyes that she was genuinely concerned about him, he ultimately did not reveal that he’d lost his memory.

“Nothing happened.I happened to be saved by someone,” he replied.

“That’s good,” Danika responded.

She then continued to eat without raising any more questions.

He Lost Something

After the meal, Danika had no reason to continue pestering Eustace, so she smiled at him and said, “I’ll be leaving now.”

As she walked away, she knew that the next time they met, they would just be acquaintances who happened to also be collaborative partners.

“Okay.”

Eustace nodded, but for some reason, he felt a bit uneasy. He felt like he was losing something.

It didn’t take long for Danika’s figure to disappear from Eustace’s sight, and the feeling of loss became more pronounced. He had a strong urge to go after her.

Unfortunately, Danika’s car was nowhere to be seen, and he had no idea where she went.He didn’t understand why he felt that way, especially since everything should have returned to normal.

When his phone rang, and he saw it was a call from Blake, he answered it.

“Where are you? I need to talk to you about something.Blake gave him an address, and he drove there right away.He could tell something was off, but he couldn’t understand why.

Since Blake was a psychologist, he decided to turn to her for help.Danika, who had already left, didn’t know any of that.

When she arrived at Zellweger Inc, she didn’t immediately go inside. She sat in her car, thinking about the things Eustace had said.

While she understood what he’d told her might be the truth, it was still hard for her to swallow. She was certainly upset, but she wouldn’t lose her mind over the matter.

After resting for a moment in her car, she got out and took the elevator to Graham’s office, ready to discuss the collaboration with the Glasses.

Now that Danika had identified the issue of concern, she would focus on it and weave her plan around it.

This time, she would teach the Glasses a lesson.

Meanwhile, Rowena was hiding in the corner of a restaurant with Jolene.

“I was informed that James will be here to meet his client today. This is your only chance to see him.”

A person like James didn’t need to socialize with clients every single day.

If it hadn’t been because he had an appointment to meet his client that day, they wouldn’t have been able to get wind of his whereabouts.

Jolene nodded, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

“But how do I… She felt a little shy.Even if James were drunk, he wouldn’t be completely unconscious. If he saw it was her, he might reject her advances.Since this was her only chance, she needed to make sure everything would go according to plan.

“You don’t have to worry about that.I’ve bribed the waiter attending James’ private room to spike his drink. You’ll definitely get your chance later.”

Since Rowena brought Jolene along, she must have had everything prepared in advance.

However, she was still worried for her daughter.

“Jo, have you really thought this through? James doesn’t seem like a good guy. After you get married to him, what if he—“

“Don’t worry, Mom.I’m confident in myself.Even if he doesn’t like me initially, he’ll grow to love me as time passes.”

Jolene wasn’t going to give up that easily.

Seeing how determined Jolene was, Rowena didn’t say anything further.

No matter what, marrying into the Windsors was still better than becoming a part of the Britts.

The mother and daughter waited patiently.

Soon, people left the private room one by one, but James was nowhere to be seen.

Jolene was anxious.

“Mom, are you sure he’s in there?”

“I’m sure of it.He must have passed out by now.Quick, go and take a look.Don’t let anyone else get to him before you do.”

Rowena gave her a slight push, urging her to go ahead with their plan.

Jolene nodded and went over while blushing furiously. Her heart swelled with joy when she thought that James would be hers in just a moment.

The Final Winner

In the private room, all the patrons had left, leaving only James sitting there alone. He wanted to leave but noticed that something was wrong with his body.He felt very restless and had an inexplicable urge.

At first, he thought it was because he had drunk too much, but as the heat became more and more intense and even a little out of control, he realized something was wrong.

He wasn’t drunk—he’d been drugged.

Realizing that, his face darkened, and he felt like killing the person who had the audacity to drug him.

Just then, Jolene pushed the door open and saw James sitting there looking a bit off.She knew that the drug was taking effect.

“James, what’s wrong? Are you okay?”

Jolene stepped forward and reached out a hand to help him.She even intentionally got closer to him.

As she was dressed provocatively that day, her chest was almost exposed. She deliberately brushed her body against James’ arm.

Normally, James would have pushed her away; but at that moment, he found it hard to resist her body.

Nevertheless, he still managed to hang on to his rationality.

Glaring at Jolene with bloodshot eyes, he asked, “Was it you?”

“What are you talking about, James? I don’t understand,” Jolene replied.

She then boldly hooked her arm around James’ neck and was about to kiss him.

“Get out!”

James, who was barely holding on to his rationality, understood that if he had any form of physical intimacy with Jolene that day, he would never stand a chance with Danika anymore.

No matter what, he had to endure it.

Although Jolene was a bit annoyed when James pushed her away, she didn’t mind it and went closer to him again.

“James, why are you so angry? I’m just trying to help you.You must be feeling very uncomfortable now.Let me help you,” Jolene coaxed while taking off her jacket and moving closer to James.

At the moment, James looked particularly frightening with veins bulging on his forehead.

Even so, he wasn’t tempted by Jolene’s desperate attempts at seducing him.

Jolene was quite impressed with his endurance.

If it were someone else, they probably wouldn’t be able to resist under normal circumstances even if they weren’t drugged.

However, the more James resisted, the more Jolene was determined to conquer him that day.

Right then, Rowena pushed the door open and entered.

She was worried when Jolene had gone in for some time but didn’t seem to make any progress.

She was speechless upon seeing her daughter’s clumsy and tactless actions.

“You should get him to the room upstairs first.”

“Jo is too desperate! She can’t just do the deed here in this private room!” Rowena thought helplessly.

Jolene had to give up her attempts at Rowena’s words.

Together, they dragged James to the room.

James wanted to get away from them, but he’d drunk a lot of alcohol and was drugged. He could barely walk, let alone struggle to break free.

“Jolene, if you dare to do anything to me today, I will kill you when I’m sober!” James said through gritted teeth with the remaining shred of rationality he had left.

Achill went down Jolene’s spine, and she looked at her mother.

Rowena coldly sneered, “Don’t worry about him.

When everything is done, he won’t have a chance to do anything about it.”
