Danika sat beside them, quietly eating, pleased with the situation.
“What are you planning?”
James whispered to her, sensing that there was a reason she had brought Brandon.
Danika grinned and answered, “Don’t you think Brandon and Jolene are a good match?”
It caught James by surprise, but he quickly understood what she meant.
After taking a look at Brandon, he grinned back at her and said, “Yes, they are indeed a good match.”
After the meal, the four of them left the restaurant.
Graham patted Brandon on the shoulder and said, “Pay me a visit whenever you’re free.”
“Sure, Mr.Zellweger,” Brandon replied happily.
From Graham’s tone, it seemed he would not oppose Brandon and Jolene being together.
Just then, Danika suggested, “Dad, how about tomorrow? It just so happens that James will also be there. The more, the merrier.”
She had to create opportunities for Brandon; otherwise, how could she get Jolene to marry him? Graham thought it was inappropriate since he had already made an appointment with James.
However, Danika shot James a look, who then said, “I have no objections, Mr.Zellweger.”
Brandon also chimed in, “I’m good with it too.”
After they parted ways, Danika was in a good mood.
She had accomplished two things in one day and made some progress.
Graham wasn’t a fool; he had already figured out what she was planning when she brought Brandon to dinner.
“So, you brought Brandon to dinner to set him up with Jolene?” Graham asked.
Nodding, Danika didn’t deny it.
“She’s not young anymore, so we should start thinking about her.I think Brandon isn’t bad.”
In Danika’s opinion, Brandon was better than Jolene in all aspects.
However, she was aware there was a chance Graham thought otherwise.
He might have thought she was out of his league in all aspects.
“He’s not bad, but it still depends on what Jolene think,”
Graham said.
Although he didn’t like Jolene as much as Danika, after all, she was his daughter, and he couldn’t force her to marry someone she didn’t like.
Danika nodded and said, “They seem pretty close from their usual interactions.Maybe Jolene has liked Brandon for a long time.”
“It would be great if that’s the case.”
Graham was also worried about Jolene, mainly because of her awful temper and personality, which made it difficult to find someone suitable for her.
Danika wasn’t worried.
Since Jolene treated Brandon as a tool, she wouldn’t be direct about it even if she didn’t like him.All Danika needed to do was tip the scale to make something happen.
I’ve Got It Covered
Danika thought that the conversation would end.
To her surprise, Graham continued, “Now that Jolene has reached such an important milestone in her life, what about you?”
“What about me? I’m a divorcee.I’m not in a hurry,” Danika replied, chuckling.
Marriage was not on her mind at the moment.
There was also Eustace in the equation.
At the thought of him, she couldn’t help feeling a little sad.As if he could read her mind, Graham said, “I know that you and Eustace are very close, but I still stand by my view that you two are incompatible.James, on the other hand, is a good fit for you.Be it his family background or his personality, he’s excellent in all aspects. Why don’t you give that a thought?”
When Danika wasn’t around, James told him he liked Danika and hoped that Graham could help him.
It so happened that Graham was worried about Danika’s love life, and he was also pleased that James met all his criteria.
Hence, he had no reason to refuse James’s request.
With a frustrated sigh, she said seriously, “James and I are just like siblings. There’s no way anything can happen between us.”
“Why not? You haven’t given it a try.Why are you so certain that you don’t like him?”
In Graham’s opinion, as long as Danika was willing to try, she would find many men better than Eustace.
“Anyway, how did it go?” she asked, not wanting to dwell on the topic.
“What are our chances of acquiring the Glasses’ business?”
“The chances of success are pretty high, but it’ll be difficult to do it quickly.”
Danika was anxious to save someone, so she didn’t want it to happen too late.
However, acquiring the business of a wealthy family didn’t happen overnight, and it required patience.
While the rest of them could wait, Danika couldn’t.
“That’s alright.Let’s split into two groups. You just need to keep the attention of the Glasses on you while I look for him.”
When the Glasses were overwhelmed, she would seize that moment to infiltrate them.
Graham nodded.
Suddenly, he realized that she had changed the subject.
“What about what I just told you—“
“Dad, I’ve got it covered, so don’t worry about it.”
Danika cut him off, refusing to dwell on the topic.
Graham sighed helplessly.
“You’re just like your mother.”
“Speaking of her, didn’t you say you were looking for her? Any updates on that?” Danika asked.
She wanted to know if her mother was still alive.
At the mention of her mother, Graham fell silent.
“No.”
She seemed to have disappeared.
No matter how hard he searched for her, he couldn’t find any traces.
“Don’t be upset.I’m sure you’ll find her someday.”
Danika comforted him, gaining comfort from the company they shared in their misery. He had persisted for so many years, so Graham refused to give up— he told himself that to keep himself going.
“If I don’t find her, you have to keep looking for her in the future.”
It was hard for them to believe that she was dead without seeing her dead body.
“I will.”
Danika nodded.
Soon, they arrived at Zellweger Castle.
Meanwhile, Brandon had just arrived home too.
“Father,” he called, walking into the living room.
His father nodded and beckoned him over.
“I heard you met Graham Zellweger tonight?”
“Yes.”
Brandon was not surprised that his father knew.
After all, the Britt family was still not under Brandon’s full control.
In fact, his father had still been watching over the family.
