Danika nodded.She didn’t take it to heart.
“Alright.I’ll go contact James.We’ll have dinner with him tonight to discuss this.”

Graham knew that Danika was anxious, so he didn’t refuse.
Danika got up to leave.She didn’t spare much thought on the Bardoff City’s Quinceys.She didn’t even consider the possibility that Eustace’s disappearance had anything to do with them.
At night, Jolene had somehow heard of Graham having dinner with James, and she rushed to the company.
“Dad, I want to have dinner with you tonight,” Jolene said.
She seldom had any chances to see James; if she missed this opportunity, there was no telling when the next one would come.
Graham knew tonight’s discussion was a serious one, and Jolene was close to the Glasses.
How could they let her be present? He refused her at once.

Jolene was indignant when she was refused.
“Why can Danika go, but I can’t?”
“Danika is there to talk about serious matters,” Graham said truthfully.
He hoped that Jolene would not make a fuss.But Jolene would not hear of it.
She merely thought Graham was displaying his favoritism, intending to introduce James to Danika without regard for her feelings.
“I don’t care.I want to go.”
She pulled at Graham’s arm.She didn’t want to miss this opportunity.
Graham frowned, expressing his displeasure.
“You’re not a child anymore, Jolene.Don’t be insolent.”
Since Danika showed up, Graham had been learning to be a good father.
Even if he felt displeased, he didn’t act in anger.
Unfortunately, Jolene didn’t know that.
“You’re picking favorites, Dad.You stopped caring about me ever since Danika showed up.”
Graham didn’t retort.It was the truth.
“We’re both your daughters.Can’t you treat us fairly?” Jolene asked, still holding out her fantasies.
What if her dad was just being silly at the moment? After a long while, Graham grimly told her, “In my eyes, no one will ever surpass Danika.”
“Dad!”
Jolene couldn’t believe that Graham would actually say that to her face.
“Jolene, you should be more self-aware.You don’t have what it takes to maintain a company.Even after Danika takes over the company, you can still be a princess and be treated well every day.Isn’t that a good thing?”
Graham thought that being a carefree socialite was the dream for many.
But Jolene would never agree to that.
That was something that used to belong to her, and it was being taken away.She would not accept it.You haven’t even given me a chance.How would you know that I don’t have what it takes?” Jolene asked.
She had discarded her puppy eyes for something colder.Mom was right, her dad only had Danika in his heart.
They had to make their plans early.
“You think I’m incapable? What a joke.” Jolene smiled coldly.
“You’re picking favorites.You would have given the company to Danika even if she were trash.You don’t need to make up so many excuses.” Graham said nothing.
However, he looked at Jolene as if she was a stranger.
“I won’t give up.”
Jolene gnashed her teeth, getting up to leave.
Graham watched her leave and sighed in exasperation.
He had no way of treating them equally in this aspect.
Jolene walked out of the office and happened to run into Danika, who was about to go in and get Graham for dinner with James.
They were already at odds with each other, and since Jolene had just fought with Graham, she looked at Danika with hatred.
“Don’t you dare be too cocky! I won’t give up.”
Jolene wouldn’t give up on either Zellweger Inc or James Windsor.Danika was speechless.
Was she being cocky? She was feeling miserable right now.
Jolene didn’t say anything else to her.
She was in a hurry to see Rowena at home.
They had to have a deep discussion.
They could not let Zellweger Inc fall into Danika’s hands.
They didn’t want to be under Danika’s control.
Danika did not read too much into it.
Jolene was always like that, and she was getting used to it.
She knocked and went into the office.
When Graham saw it was her, a smile replaced his serious expression.
“Is it time?”
“Yes.Let’s go.It’s not good to be late when we’re meeting someone,” Danika said.
She wanted to meet James quickly so they could agree on working together to take down the Glasses.
That was her only chance to find Eustace.She didn’t want to wait for a second longer.

Danika thought that she and Graham were early.
However, James was already sitting in the private booth.
“Mr.Zellweger.”
James got up from his chair and greeted Graham with a smile.
Though the Windsors and the Zellwegers were not friends, they were still acquaintances.
James and Graham had greeted each other before.He didn’t know that Danika was his daughter, so their conversations were usually brief.
Now, it was different.
Graham was surprised to find James being so polite.
Before, they had only nodded in acknowledgment.
“Mr.Windsor.”
“Just call me James, Mr.Zellweger.”
James had a smile on his face, looking amicable.
Graham found this all very puzzling.However, he said nothing.
When they sat down, James handed the menu to Danika.
“You can choose whatever you want.You don’t have to be so polite around your senior.”
“Senior?”
Graham was bewildered.
Why hadn’t he heard of this from Danika before? James was surprised, too.He didn’t think that Danika had never brought up their history to Graham.
Danika smiled dryly, saying, “James and I were Mr.Birkett’s mentee.She did not go into too much detail about it.It wasn’t important.It was then that Graham remembered.He remembered assigning Mr.Birkett to be her mentor, but the old man had refused at the time.Why had he agreed to it later on?
