After that, Eustace’s car was found at the bottom of a cliff.

No one knew what had happened between the two events.

Old Mr.Quincey had not received his call when it happened.

Obviously, Eustace wouldn’t drag his grandfather into danger.

Paul later contacted him, saying that Eustace had called him that night.

He had rushed over as fast as he could, but it was already too late.

Eustace’s car was at the bottom of the cliff, and Paul got someone to contact Old Mr.Quincey in the midst of searching.

The search party had gone on for a few days, but Eustace was nowhere to be found.

Everyone had already given up, but they hadn’t.

Danika’s face darkened once she heard it all.

Right now, on top of being worried about Eustace, she was also worried about Old Mr.Quincey.

He probably still didn’t know about Mortimer being ina coma.

With his son in a coma and his grandson nowhere to be found, she worried about Old Mr.Quincey’s wellbeing.

“Don’t worry, Grandpa. He’ll be alright,” Danika said, looking at him.

She believed that Eustace would protect himself.

He smiled and said nothing.

In truth, he already knew that the possibility of Eustace surviving wasn’t great.

It was just that no one was willing to give up.

Danika knew how much of a struggle it was for him.

She continued, “It might even be good news that no one can find him.Maybe he’s hiding somewhere so we won’t be in danger.”

It was a huge possibility considering Eustace’s personality.

“I hope so,” Old Mr.Quincey said.

Danika walked out of the ward with Vincent.

She told him to bring her to where Eustace’s car was found.

She wanted to search for him herself.

No matter what, she had to find him alive.

She stood at the edge of the cliff and looked down at the raging waters; her face turned pale.

She couldn’t imagine how dangerous his attackers must have been for him to plunge down like that.

Even if he were afraid, Eustace would not have chosen to jump down.

Many people might have wanted to take his life, and they were all of high rank.

Who was it? Who could it be? The Glasses? They were the first people that Danika could think of.

The Glasses had the power and the means to do it.But Danika didn’t think that was right.

The Glasses would only attack Eustace for Jolene’s sake, and it wouldn’t be to this extent.

Chasing him all the way to Parrington? The Glasses had better things to do.

Did they care about Jolene that much? But who would it be if it weren’t the Glasses? No one in Parrington would have the power and the boldness to do something like it, so it had to be someone from Bardoff City.

There weren’t a lot of suspects, then.

Danika clenched her fists and looked down at the crashing water.

“You have to survive, Eustace.I’m definitely going to hunt them down!”

Putting on a Show

“The wind is getting stronger, Miss Danika. Let’s go. There are people looking for him down there,” Vincent said. He knew how important Danika was to Eustace, so he couldn’t let anything happen to her, especially now. Or else, if Eustace survived and returned to find that something had happened to Danika, he could not imagine what would happen.

Danika had no intention of leaving. She turned toward him and said,

“vincent, could you help me get a waterproof suit?”

“Miss Danika, are you…”

“I wouldn’t be able to forget it unless I went down there myself.” Even though many people were looking for him, Danika still wanted to do it personally.

What if they were slacking off? What if they missed a clue that Eustace had left behind?

Vincent wanted to stop her, but Paul appeared. “Get her ready. We have no reason to stop her if she wants to sacrifice herself for Eustace.

“Mr. Wagner…”

“What a pity she didn’t treasure him when he was still around. Now she’s putting on a show. I don’t know what she means by this,

” Paul sneered. Just as Danika disliked him, he felt the same way. Danika pursed her lips. She didn’t retort.

Paul wasn’t wrong. She hadn’t even given him a complete answer before this happened. But now that something had happened to him, she regretted her actions.

Vincent quickly got her a diving suit. Danika put it on without hesitation and slowly glided down on the rope the rescue team had prepared.

Paul watched her disappear, scoffing. “It’s all pretense.”

Vincent was exasperated. “Mr. Wagner, Mr. Quincey cares a lot about Danika. If something happens to her…”

“If something happens to her this easily, she isn’t worthy of him.” Paul put on a diving suit as well and disappeared from Vincent’s sight.

Seeing them both leave, Vincent stood in his spot, suddenly wishing he could go down, too. But he couldn’t swim. On top of that, he had to handle the company.

He got someone to keep an eye on Danika and Paul. Nothing could happen to them.

In the water, Danika quickly found where Eustace’s car had sunk. There were pieces of broken glass around it. But there were no traces of Eustace.

She swam over slowly, looking around carefully, trying to find a clue as to what had happened. A tiny clue was enough.

But reality disappointed her.

Maybe it was the water. Maybe things had happened all too quickly.

Eustace had not left behind any clues at all. Even after round after round of searching, Danika came up empty-handed.

She swam toward the shore and looked at the place where his car had sunk. What would Eustace have done if he had survived? He would have swam with all his might toward the shore.

She began looking for clues on the sand. As long as Eustace was here, he would have left something behind.

Paul went ashore and saw Danika squatting on the beach, sifting through the sand carefully. He walked over. When he saw Danika, rage surged through his chest for no reason. “Do you really think Eustace would leave clues here?”

Danika ignored him. There was no point arguing with someone like Paul.

“with what happened, he would have either swam downstream or gotten caught by his attackers. Going ashore would be instant death,” Paul said. Although he didn’t like Danika, he shared his thoughts with her.

If those people wanted him dead, they would not have let him go ashore.

Not Everyone Is After Your Money What

Paul said made sense.

Danika understood him, but she had no idea what else she could do.She could only try.

What if? What if Eustace hadn’t gone the predictable route and quietly snuck up on land? When Paul saw her keeping up the search, he cussed at her and left.

But before going far, he turned back.

“Is Stephanie…doing alright?”

He’d lost all contact with her once she moved to Bardoff City.He initially planned to move there like Eustace, but he had not expected this to happen.

“She’s doing pretty well,” Danika answered.

At least, Stephanie seemed fine to her.

Disappointment flashed through Paul’s eyes.He couldn’t seem to accept that Stephanie could do well without him.

When it came to Stephanie, Danika didn’t mind saying more to Paul.

She stood up, looking at the silent man before her.

“Aren’t you going to give up?”
