Meanwhile, the two women were still on the road.

Danika kept glancing at her watch while telling the driver to speed up.

The moment Paul discovered the Zelliots had left Parrington, he would immediately know of Stephanie’s escape.

That was why they needed to hurry at all costs.

Seeing how worried she was, even Stephanie started to sweat.

Luckily, they soon reached the airport.

They made it all the way to the boarding area of their private plane, and Danika finally heaved a sigh of relief; Paul wouldn’t be able to do anything anymore once they got on the plane. She was about to board the plane when she noticed Stephanie had stopped in her tracks, looking at the gate behind her.

Even though Stephanie stayed silent, Danika could still read what was on her mind.

“You’re waiting for Paul?”she asked, shocked.

“Danika, I…”

The next second, a flurry of men surrounded the both of them, Paul at the lead. His face was dark with anger.

“Come here,” he said when he saw Stephanie.

He kept his tone as neutral as possible and his temper in check.

“Why? Just let me leave,” Stephanie replied.

“Leave? Where to?” Paul sneered.

“You’re mine in life or in death, Stephanie. You’re never gonna fucking leave me.”

He was never going to let her go from this point forward.

Once he got her back, he’d make sure she never stepped out of his house. He then glared at Danika.

“You really think I can’t do anything to you now that you have the Zellweger family’s backing?”

“Yes.What can you do, really?” Danika scoffed.

She was still confident in being able to leave with Stephanie though they were surrounded.

Paul’s face turned ugly.

He yelled at a guard beside him, “Bring them both back!”

He would see for himself just how powerful the Zellweger family was.

Before Paul’s men could move, Eustace appeared and shielded Danika, standing with his back before her.

“Danika is mine, Paul.”

“Yours?”

Paul’s brows furrowed, then, as if realizing something, he asked, ”So you knew she was going to take Stephanie away today?” Eustace said nothing, though his silence spoke volumes.

“Eustace Quincey!” Paul yelled.

“You bastard! You call yourself a friend?”

He never expected to be betrayed by one of his closest friends.

“There’s no need to point fingers. You’re the man-child who won’t own up to his mistakes!”

Danika scoffed, rolling her eyes.

“My mistakes? Aren’t you the one who thought you could take Stephanie away just because you think you’re her friend? Did you even ask her if she needed help?” Paul snapped, now turning to Stephanie.

You Really Think You’re Better?

Paul’s tone oozed with confidence, believing Stephanie wanted to stay of her own volition and only left because of Danika’s meddling.

Danika didn’t share the same thought.

“Steph, do you still want to stay with him?” she asked.

If the answer was yes, she’d leave the two alone right away.Stephanie glanced at Danika, then at Paul, and sighed, “No.”

Danika smiled while Paul flew into a fit of rage.

“Think twice before you answer that question, Stephanie Zelliot!”

Why wouldn’t she want to stay? Hadn’t they had such a good time together? He had thought she’d given up entirely on leaving him.

“I have Paul.Countless times.I don’t want to stay anymore, Paul.I’m a person, not an object.I know what I want.”

As much as she liked Paul, she wasn’t going to stay with him, not when he treated her that way.Paul’s hands clenched into fists.

“Alright…al-fucking-right then!”

“Well? Steph doesn’t want to stay. So, are you going to let us go or force us to stay?” Danika sneered.

She had already guessed the answer.

“You’re not leaving unless I say so, Stephanie Zelliot.”

She was going to stay whether she liked it or not! Paul was an extremely stubborn man.It was tolerable with Stephanie acquiescing, but way worse if she didn’t.

Eustace sighed and went up to his friend.Don’t do this, Paul.If you truly like her, then cherish her as a person. You’ll only push her away if you force her against her will.”

“Shut the hell up!” Paul roared.

“I’ll do whatever I want, and you have no right to say otherwise!”

He wasn’t in the mood to deal with Eustace right now.He had to deal with Stephanie first.

Eustace gritted his teeth and said, “You won’t touch even an inch of her hair with me here today, Paul.”

With that, the two men glared at one another, neither backing down.

Seeing this, Danika texted Graham to send reinforcements.

Though their winning chance was high with Eustace there, she still preferred having Graham’s men around so the two men’s friendship wouldn’t be put at large risk.

Graham and his men soon arrived.

One look and one could easily tell his men were highly trained professionals.

Yes, they were outnumbered by Paul’s men, but in terms of combat skill, Paul was on the losing side.

“You will not keep us here today, Paul Wagner,” Danika said slowly.

Paul had never met Graham Zellweger, though he had seen the man on television. His expression turned menacing.

‘You’re thoroughly prepared, aren’t you?”

Eustace was already tough to defeat; now, with Graham’s men in the picture, there was no way he would walk out victorious.

“Of course,” Danika grinned, taking it as a compliment.

Stephanie was unhappy with the current stalemate.

“I don’t want to be at odds with you like this, Paul,” she said.

“But I just hate the way you treat me.That’s why I hope you can use this chance to learn how to respect someone else, respect your partner.”

Paul only sneered, “What’s with all the sagely advice, hm? Do you really think you’re better than me? I really thought you liked me, with how you act like you’re in love and devoted to me.Turns out you’ve been hiding your true colors all this time.”

His heart ached like never before, burning with sadness, despair, and rage.

Stephanie’s decision to leave that day made him realize how much of a liar she was.She had never wanted to be with him from the start.

Get Out of My Sight!

AS angry as Paul was, he still found himself somewhat scared of what Stephanie would say next.

The woman gazed at him for a moment before sighing.

“I can’t change what you think, and so be it.” Paul nearly lunged at her.

“Alright then!”

He gritted out, knowing full well he wouldn’t be able to keep Stephanie by his side anymore.

With a sneer, he said, “You really think you can rest easy in Bardoff City? I’ve told you once, and I’ll tell you again; I will always find a way to bring you back to my side, Stephanie Zelliot. No matter where you run off to.

Stephanie frowned.

“Paul—“
