Danika knew of his identity, and she would be on her guard around him.She’d never like him this way.
“Well, are you planning to quit?”
Danika looked at him, not surprised by his words.It made Alfred a little disappointed.He’d wanted to see some sort of emotion on her face.
“Alfred, with a brother as talented as Eustace and Mortimer as your father, you have been upset all these years, haven’t you?” Danika said calmly, looking at him.
Alfred stiffened.He glared at her.
“Upset? Why would I be upset? Eustace is a small fry.”
“Why would you target me if he was a small fry?” Danika asked with a smile.
She’d already seen through that part of Alfred’s thoughts.Alfred said nothing.
Growing up, he didn’t know about Mortimer’s true identity.He thought he was just like the other kids and his parents were like anyone else’s.
But then he grew to know of it and learned of Eustace’s existence.He couldn’t control himself from investigating everything about Eustace, and every time he saw how happy and sought-after Eustace was, jealousy burned in his heart.
They were both Quinceys.Why did Eustace have that life, and why was he just a regular guy?

He couldn’t let it go.All these years, he tried to surpass Eustace to prove he was nothing less than him.However, he hadn’t succeeded.He was just an illegitimate child.
At least Danika was publicly recognized.
Alfred could only hide in the shadows, something the Quinceys had to hide.
“Eustace isn’t your enemy, Alfred.He didn’t cause what you went through.”
Danika spoke slowly in a calm manner.
“If I were you, I’d figure out how to make myself stronger and stop wanting to return to the Quincey family.It doesn’t mean that you have to be associated with the Quinceys your whole life just because of your name.With your talents, you could build your own empire.”
Danika felt that if Alfred put his efforts on the right path, he’d be able to forge a future for himself.Alfred said nothing.She continued, ‘What your parents did has nothing to do with you.You can choose to steer your own life.”
“But why is he the one who gets to have everything?”
Alfred was still not letting go.
Quincey Group probably didn’t mean much in Bardoff City, but they were like royalty in Parrington.
Alfred felt that he would never reach that level on his own.
“Everything that Eustace has is also due to his own efforts.When Mortimer suddenly left, Quincey Group was left without a leader.He had to step up and manage an entire company when he was still young.It’s not as easy as you think.”
Although Eustace had never told her of this, Danika could picture it.Alfred was still indignant.
Danika continued, “All these years, you already got a lot of things that he never had.”
“What?”
Alfred didn’t understand.
“You had your parents by your side when you grew up.They protected you and kept you company. But what about Eustace? Rightfully speaking, he’s the one who should hate you.”
Danika felt sorry for Eustace.She couldn’t imagine how he had endured all those years of being an orphan.Something stirred in Alfred’s heart.
A part of him agreed with her.Then, he scoffed.
“You just want me to be your corporate slave.”
“I’m not denying that.” Danika smiled.
“You have amazing talents.I’d like you to stay and work for me, but you’re not losing out.”
“Not losing out? I could leave and join a bigger company right now, and they wouldn’t reject me.”
He couldn’t figure out where Danika had the audacity to say things like this.Danika stroked her chin and batted her eyes at him.
“Do you remember what you said when I asked you why you wanted to work for me? It was a pretty good answer.”
Alfred was stunned.
What had he said?
“You said you wouldn’t achieve anything at a big company.Companies like those would treat you like a cog in their giant machine.But at Jeneration Group, you could unleash your potential and turn the company into a large corporation.You could even make it compete with the Ten Elites.Wouldn’t that be a greater achievement?”
Alfred had almost forgotten how to respond when he saw how serious she was being.
Then, he smiled in exasperation.
“Compete with the Ten Elites? You have some serious balls.”
“of course.I’m confident in my abilities.Aren’t you?”
Danika stared at him with a determined gaze.
Alfred returned her gaze, unwavering.

Alfred had it.He was always very confident in his abilities.He was just unsure of whether he wanted to work for Danika.
“As long as you don’t do anything to harm the company, I will not interfere in any of your decisions.This is my sincerity.As for whether you’re willing to accept it, you can think about it slowly.”
Danika didn’t want to keep talking about it.It’d be futile for her to waste her breath if Alfred still insisted on rivaling Eustace.She’d be better off telling him to fuck off.
“Decisions? You’re letting me make my own decisions? Why do you think I’d be loyal to you?”
He honestly couldn’t figure her out.
Wasn’t he supposed to be an unpredictable factor for Danika? If he were her, he would have chased him out at once as long as there was no risk of him sabotaging the company.But Danika not only had not chased him away, but she had also even entrusted him with responsibilities.He thought it was weird from every angle.
“who said you’d be loyal to me? Aren’t you working for your own career as well? I’m just providing you with an opportunity,” Danika said, smiling.
Alfred nearly burst out laughing.He looked at Danika, thinking that she was an interesting person.
“You’re good with words.”
“So, what’s your decision?”
Danika looked nonchalant, but deep down, she did care.If Alfred insisted on leaving, they would have to postpone the relocation.
Jade couldn’t handle it alone, and they wouldn’t be able to find a suitable person in such a short time frame.It wouldn’t be easy recruiting people at the start of the year.
Alfred was quiet for a while.Then, he smiled lightly.
“You’ve already put it that way.I’d be wasting such kindness if I were to refuse.”
“Well, I hope we cooperate well in the future.”
Danika held her hand out.
Alfred shook her hand.
In the instant that they made physical contact, he suddenly said, “Why don’t you consider me? We could turn the company into a family business.What do you think?”
Danika retracted her hand quickly and looked at him like he had a tail.
“I think nothing of it.”
“I’m serious.We’re both single.And although my family doesn’t compare to the Zellwegers, I believe I’m quite worthy of you, ability- wise.”Alfred didn’t give up.He was honestly a little intrigued by her now.It felt different than before.Danika smiled dryly and shook her head.
“Sorry.I’m not interested in you that way.”
“You really know how to reject someone,” Alfred said.
Danika was not giving him a chance at all.
“Is it because you still like Eustace?” he asked.
He was really curious to know what Eustace had.
The question stunned Danika.
Truthfully, she had no idea.She didn’t mind if he was nearby but wouldn’t think about being together with him.
“Oh well.You haven’t even figured it out.”
Alfred didn’t plan on pressing the subject.
From an outsider’s perspective, Danika liked Eustace.But since Danika was the one involved, she wouldn’t be able to see the wood from the trees.He didn’t reveal it since he’d gained nothing from it.
In fact, he wished that Eustace would never be happy.
