“You can’t bully me in the future, little sister.Or else, I’m not going to hold myself back.”

She smiled at Jolene. It was said in good humor, but Jolene could see the seriousness in her eyes.

Jolene was furious again.

“Screw you, bitch!”

She rushed toward Danika. But this time, Rowena caught her.

“Calm down, Jolene.”

Jolene dared to attack right in front of Graham now.Rowena didn’t know how else to assuage her daughter.

Don’t Blame Me for Being Ruthless

Jolene ended up being unable to hit Danika. She was being held back by her mother and couldn’t move at all.

Graham didn’t explode because of this, but he warned, “If you dare to lay hands on your sister again, don’t blame me for being ruthless.”

Danika had just come back.He dreadfully wanted to give her the best of everything he could. He naturally would not condone any bullying toward her.

Jolene was so angry that she trembled all over. She looked at her father as if she were looking at a stranger.

“Have you ever thought of me as your daughter, Dad?”

Graham had never been nice to her all these years. But the moment Danika returned, she was enjoying something that Jolene never had.How could she accept that?

“I wonder if you’re even my daughter.”

On one side was obedient Danika, and on the other was the proud, arrogant Jolene.

Graham wished he didn’t have a daughter like her.

Rowena flared up at once.

“What do you mean by that, Graham? Don’t you dare go overboard!”

“What are you getting so agitated for? I’m just saying.”

He truly was just making a statement.

Why was Rowena’s reaction so over the top?

“Of course I’d be agitated. You’re humiliating me,” Rowena said.

Graham snorted and ignored her.He looked at the maids.

“Get the food out.”

He walked over to Danika, kindness spreading on his face.

“You’re probably hungry.Let’s eat.”

“Alright.”

Danika nodded and followed behind him. They walked toward the dining table.

Rowena and Jolene stood rooted on their spots, staring at the two of them with raging anger in their blood.

“Why did you stop me, Mom? Are you protecting that bitch, too?”

Jolene clenched her fists, wishing she could hit Danika.

Rowena sighed exasperatedly.

“Jolene, your father will definitely protect her right now.The only one who will suffer is you.”

“Are you going to let her trample all over me?”

Jolene couldn’t accept it.

“Don’t worry.I’ll find a way. This is Bardoff City, and Danika is an outsider.Even with your father protecting her, he can’t always be by her side. There will be an opening.”

Rowena smiled, already having a plan in mind.

Jolene felt better at once.

“That’s true.I don’t believe that we can’t get to her.”

As long as they could get rid of Danika, Jolene would have Graham as her father all to herself. No one would snatch him away from her.

They walked toward the dining table.

Jolene sat in front of Danika and looked at her coldly, but she didn’t start a fight.

Graham and Danika chatted amicably over dinner.

“There’s to be a party tomorrow.I shall bring you there to introduce you to everyone,” Graham said.

Since he had decided to make their family business public, he would have to introduce her to everyone.

Then, they would know that he had her back.

Danika didn’t refuse. She had just come to Bardoff City and barely knew anyone.

If she wanted to stay there, she would have to know people.

“Alright.” She nodded.

Rowena frowned. She said at once, “Jolene has nothing going on tomorrow. Why don’t you let her bring Danika over? They’re sisters. They should bond together.”

Graham’s gaze fell on Jolene, doubting if she would comply.

“I was wrong, dad.I couldn’t accept it so suddenly,”

Jolene apologized, knowing her mother’s intentions.

“Danika just came to Bardoff City. She probably doesn’t know anyone.I’ll take her around so she won’t feel too lonely at the party,” Jolene said with a smile, losing her ferocity from before.

If You Provoke Me on Purpose

Danika was surprised.

Jolene was a little smarter than she thought. She expected Jolene to insist on antagonizing her until the end.

If that was so, she wouldn’t be much of a threat. But if Jolene knew how to control herself, she was harder to deal with.

“What a nuisance,” Danika thought.

If it weren’t for Jolene talking bad about her, Danika would have ignored her.She might not even have considered moving in.But Jolene wanted to smear her name, and Rowena had even arranged for someone to assassinate her.

How could Danika let this go? She couldn’t.

Graham looked at the quiet Danika and was worried that she would refuse.

“You can go.You don’t have to take Danika around.I’ll be taking her.”

“You’re always so busy at these events, dad.You won’t have the time—“

“No one is as important as Danika,” Graham said, cutting her off.

Jolene’s jealousy was on overdrive. She couldn’t understand why Graham’s attitude was so different toward his daughters.

Danika looked at Graham and said, “It’s okay. You can go about your matters. My sister can take me around.”

At the word sister, goosebumps covered Jolene’s skin. She felt a chill going up her spine.

“Alright. You don’t have to be afraid of her.Just tell me if she dares to bully you,” Graham told her.

He obviously suspected Jolene’s intentions.

Jolene smiled dryly and said, “I wouldn’t bully her, dad. What happened just now was a misunderstanding.”

Graham said nothing. He handed Danika a bowl of mashed potatoes, ignoring Jolene.

Only Graham and Danika found dinner delicious.

Rowena and Jolene were having the worst night of their lives.

After dinner, because Danika wanted to stay with the Zellwegers, Graham got one of the maids to clear out a room for her.

Although it was long prepared, he personally took her to her room.

“I don’t know what suits your tastes, so I only roughly arranged it.If you don’t like it, you can get someone to change it for you,” Graham said.

Danika looked at the clean and simple renovations. She didn’t hate it.She wasn’t going to stay there often, anyway.

“It’s great.Thanks for the trouble.”
