“You did it, baby. I’m so proud of you. We love you so much. Thank you for being so strong.” Oscar said with tears in his eyes, showering k**ses all over her face, not caring that they were both sweaty.
His attention was called to cut the cord of the second baby so he did just that. Once Oscar was away from her, a midwife approached Vicky to check all her vitals and ask her a few questions.
Oscar went back to the bedside and saw that she was fast asleep.
“She’s really tired and it’s normal for her to fall asleep after all the hard work that she has done.” The midwife said to Oscar- who nodded.
“We will clean hér up so we can transfer her back to the private ward”
“Thank you! He said, smiling at the midwife. They were all so kind and supportive of him and his family since they got in.
“You’re welcome, Mr Wayde.”
Oscar smiled, taking steps to where they were checking up on the twins. He started tearing up all over again when he sighted his boys. One was still crying while the other one had stopped.
They are so small and so alike, I can’t even tell who is who?”
Dr Natalie smiled. “No matter how identical your babies may look, you are going to recognize them because they are yours. You just need to spend a few minutes looking at them then you will be good to go.”
Oscar nodded proudly. “Thank you.”
“How are they so far?” He referred to the boys.
“They are perfect. You and your wife did an amazing job in taking care of them.”
Oscar smiled even more. “I can’t wait for their elder sister to meet them.”
Dr Natty smiled, taking a glance at Oscar. “You’ve got a beautiful family. Congratulations!”
Oscar subsequently went to get changed and cleaned up and now he was back in the private ward waiting for them to bring his wife back.
Since the twins came into the world, he hadn’t stopped smiling. Knowing his Wife would want her family and friends to be here so badly, he texted Gabriel about the good news and let Gabriel know that the pilot was on the way to pick him and Lara up with the private jet.
It was just 4:06 a.m., and he wasn’t sure if his sister was awake but he was dying to voice the good news out so he decided to dial her number anyway.
Oscar was almost giving up that she wasn’t going to pick up when Fedora eventually answered the call.
“You literally called like 6 times yesterday and of course you spoke to Sophie and I assured you that She’s doing so well. You needed to call at 4 am to piss me off again! Come on, I can take great care of my niece. Why do you have to doubt that?” From her voice, he could tell that he probably disturbed her sleep.
He knew Fedora not to be a morning person and that hasn’t changed a bit. He chuckled!
“Nothing is funny, Oscar. Sophie is fine and she likes spending time with her aunty and her cousin.”
“The Boys are here!” Oscar said proudly.
“The boys? What boys?” Fedora mumbled with a sleepy voice, then it hit her!” “Holy shit?!!!! The twins are here?”
“How?”
“f**k! What did I just say? I mean, I know the process it takes for them to be here but when was that?”
“Vee went into labor a few hours ago!”
“Really? And are just calling me?”
“For someone who almost broke my head for calling around past 4 a.m., you would have definitely murdered me if I had called you by midnight.”
“Come on, I’m not that terrible. I love my nephews and Victoria so much so I would definitely do anything for them. I would have come rushing to meet you guys.”
“You called me countless times yesterday so I thought you were doing the same. I’m your sister, I wouldn’t hurt
“I’m sorry. I never go to bed without reading my daughter a bedtime story. I got so fond of it and we were missing her terribly. That’s why we called multiple times yesterday.”

“The last couple of hours were really insane. I don’t know what to say but it was definitely a life-changing encounter. I was so scared on the inside but I had to appear so strong. I can’t believe that Vicky went through this alone with Sophie.
“We were asleep when she woke me up that her water broke. Calling or reaching out to anyone was the last thing on my mind.”
“It’s fine. How are they? How is Vicky? Do the boys look like me?”
Oscar laughed out loud “Vicky is fine, the twins are fine. They are so identical that I’m scared that I might mistake them for each other. I can’t tell who they look like yet.”
Fedora chuckled, “Don’t be silly. You are their father. You are definitely going to tell them apart no matter the resemblance.”
“The Doctor said so.”
“Vicky was so strong. She did so well. I’m so proud of her.”
“I’m proud of her too. I’m so proud of you all. God, I can’t believe I’m an aunt to twin boys. Congratulations, Oscar!!!”
Oscar blushed, “Thank you, Sis.”
“Oh my God, Sophie will be so ecstatic. I won’t give her the news yet. Once she and Amie are awake, we will come straight to the hospital. I’ll come with Food for you and Vee. And let me know if you need me to come with anything else.”
“Sure, I will. See you soon.” Oscar said, ending the call.
Oscar offered to lift Vee up from there and put her on the bed after which he tucked her in, placing a deep k**s on/her forehead.
One of the nurses went ahead to adjust the temperature of the room to make sure it was conducive for Vicky and also because the twins would be coming in shortly.
“What about my Sons?” He asked when the nurses were about to take their leave.
“Dr Natalie is still checking them up. But they will be brought in shortly.”
“Thank you!” Oscar smiled at them and once they were out of the room, he went over to the bedside where his wife was. He placed a k**s on her cheek, sat beside her, and intertwined his hand with her right hand.
“You are everything I’ve ever wanted in my life, babe. Thank you for being you. Thank you for your kind heart and thank you for loving me.” He mumbled, staring at her as she slept soundly.
The bed was big enough so Oscar adjusted himself in a way that he could share a bit of space with her. He spent the next few minutes watching her sleep and he had no idea when he fell asleep also.
“Looks like Mommy and Daddy are still resting.” The familiar voice came through followed by whining voices of the babies. That caused both parents to open their eyes and they saw Dr. Natalie pushing a double stroller towards the bed.
“We were here about an hour earlier but you both seem really tired so we decided to let you rest. But these little angels need to be fed.
Oscar k**sed his wife on the forehead before helping himself down from the bed.
“My loves,” Vee whispered, her eyes filled with tears and her voice sounding hoarse.
“Can I hold them?”
“Sure, they’ve been dying to meet you.”
