Alyssa felt a change in the air. It turned out that Jeremy’s face had clouded over almost instantly.

Liana waited anxiously on the first floor while the maids gossiped in private. Everyone knew that a war was waiting to happen if she ran into Jeremy’s ex¨Cwife.

“Jeremy!” Liana flung herself at Jeremy, hugging his waist, when the latter descended the stairs with a flat expression.

He pushed her away instinctively, but she hugged him tightly like a drowning man latching onto a piece of driftwood.

“Jeremy, I missed you so…” The familiar fresh pine scent on his body almost drove her crazy. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she wallowed in her misfortune.

“It’s my fault, and I’m sorry. I took the wrong path because I was too angry to think straight. You should know who I am because we’ve known each other since we were kids!”

She had no other way than to make an emotional appeal to him. At first, she had wanted to follow Sophia’s advice to keep out of touch with Jeremy until he was no longer upset.

Still, when she heard about Alyssa’s visit to the Seaview Manor, she couldn’t take it anymore and rushed over.

“Lia.” There was no hint of warmth in Jeremy’s voice. “I told you not to meet me for now. Go home.”

“Why?” Tears streamed down Liana’s face, like a damsel in distress. Sophia had taught her this move because men would fall for it.

“Good question. Why?” Everyone heard Alyssa’s voice from the top of the stairs. Looking over, they found her carrying a suitcase with ease and pompously made her way down with her chin held high.

She was the embodiment of grace and charm, a stark contrast to Liana’s gloominess.

Liana hugged Jeremy tightly with a sparkle in her eyes. She glowered at Alyssa.

Everyone was anticipating drama at this point.

With a hard look in his eyes, Jeremy placed his hands on Liana’s shoulders in an attempt to push her away. However, Alyssa mistook the action as a flirtation.

“So, that was why Jeremy insisted I pick up my stuff at his place. How else would I have stumbled upon their public display of affection?” Alyssa thought.

Her only wish at that moment was to take a bath and change into a fresh outfit at home. She definitely needed to take off her current outfit and throw it out. She considered anything that

Jeremy had touched to be filthy.

“Your fiancee has come such a long way just to meet you. Why would you turn her down? Tsk tsk.

you cruel man.”

Beaming at Liana, Alyssa added, “Ms. Gardner, please do not misunderstand. I’m only here to pick up my stuff. I will be leaving now. Please go on. Time is precious, and I hope you make the most out of today.”

Jeremy felt his throat tighten as raw anger shot through him.

Meanwhile, Liana struggled to hold back her resentment, but she knew she couldn’t openly confront Alyssa after the humiliation of wrongly accusing Alyssa of infidelity on Newton’s birthday.

“Oh, right, please get rid of the stuff I left here, especially my gifts for Mr. Walsh. I’ll need to trouble you to get rid of the trash when you move in. I heard that it’s not good to keep an ex’s belongings. It will affect your relationship.”

After giving out clear and curt instructions, Alyssa walked past them with the suitcase in her hand.

Liana and the maids at the villa were equally dumbstricken by Alyssa’s grace and poise instead of envy. The maids were in awe of Alyssa’s decorum.

Jeremy couldn’t stand watching Alyssa leave. He shook off Liana’s grip and caught up to Alyssa in huge strides.

“Jeremy!” Liana fell onto the coffee table after Jeremy shrugged her off. The mugs and plates were shattered from her fall, the shards cutting her wrist and tearing her skirt.

At the same time, Betty was stomping on the second floor after witnessing the interaction. among the three.

Alyssa exited the villa in her slippers with the suitcase in hand.

“Alyssa, wait!” Jeremy called out to her urgently, but she ignored him..

“Mr. Walsh, I’ve bought the heels for madam!” Xavier happened to be back with the shopping bags from luxury brands. Jeremy rushed up to him and grabbed the bags before blocking Alyssa.

“Take these.” He handed her the heels.

She accepted the bag but continued walking past him without a word. Still, he felt relieved and satisfied because this was her first time accepting his gift.

That new feeling of satisfaction did not last long. He was stunned by what she did next.

With a thud, Alyssa flung the heels worth thousands into the trashcan without even taking a look at them.

Xavier held his breath at the sight. From the corner of his eye, he spotted the crushed expression on Jeremy’s face, as devastating as scorched earth after a war.

Sean was pacing anxiously outside the Seaview Manor. When Alyssa emerged with a suitcase, he hurried over to help her with it.

“Ms. Alyssa, that bastard did not trouble you, did he?”

She frowned at him. “You should quit the habit of calling him a bastard in private. What if you blurted that out when we were in a business meeting with him? That’d be a serious gaffe!”

“Okay,” he answered glumly.

“He wouldn’t have the guts to do anything to me unless he wants me to rip him into pieces.” She cracked her knuckles.

Sean was tickled by her antics. He grew concerned at the sight of the slippers on her feet. “Why did you wear-“

“I was in a rush when I left and forgot to change my shoes.”

If she wanted, she could have worn any pair of her white sneakers on the shoe rack by the door before leaving. However, she stubbornly refused to change into any of her shoes at Seaview Manor to express her disgust and aversion to Jeremy and their three years of marriage.

Allison Burton was the owner of those sneakers carefully laid out on the shoe rack. Alyssa Taylor would never wear Allison’s old shoes again¨Cher current footwear of choice was luxurious and showy heels.

Of course, just like her refusal to wear the old shoes, she’d never rekindle an old flame as well.

“Let’s head to KS World.”

The Bugatti revved, kicking up a storm of dust as it ferried its owner to the destination.

On the second floor, Jeremy stood at the window in Alyssa’s old bedroom, watching the car leave with a ball of rage.

Alyssa was quiet on the way back to the office. She took the private escalator to the general manager’s office at the hotel with Sean by her side.

When they turned into the condor, they pumped at the sight of Landon leaning against the wall Tie was dreesed in a black shirt and black pants

Landon Harper, how did you get in? She marched op to him and stared keenly unbed my way up Grinning, he seemed happy. He panted heavily, his forehead covered in sweat He draped his jacket on his muscular lower arm. At the same time, a few buttons of his shirt were left undone to expose his sharp collarbone

Sean scrutinized Lendon’s wild look with disgust, secretly cursing at the latter for being a male siut

Did Landon seriously think of Alyssa as a superficial woman? He wouldn’t attract her attention.

Just because he showed some skin

Landon seemed to have read Sean’s mind. Instead of buttoning his shirt, he outrageously tugged at the collar of his shirt to lower it and gave Sean a wicked look

“What were Avery and the security doing? How could they let someone in without my permission?

“Her face fell as she questioned aloud with a stern voice.

Landon shuddered at her change in behavior. It seemed that his planned surprise had turned into an unpleasant shock for her

“I’ll get to it night away Sean shot daggers at the “slutty” Landon.

“Hey, stop Um, they had nothing to do with this. I sneaked in on my own * Landon put on an ingratiating expression as he grasped her arm They stopped me from coming up, so I had to sneak in Just blame it on me!”

“Avery will not receive her pay this month. As for security, please check who’s the person in charge today¨Cthey are fired. Any outstanding wages will be cleared,” Alyssa quickly gave out instructions Then she removed her arm from Landon’s grip and went to her office

“Sure, Ms. Alyssa Sean gleefully watched as Alyssa gave Landon the cold shoulder

“Allison¨CSorry, it’s Ms Alyssa Landon realized that he had made a grave mistake. He ran after

Alyssa like a helpless child who had gotten into trouble

He said, “It’s my fault. I’ll apologize to you! Tell me what I should do to make it up to you. I’ll work my ass off for it, even if you tell me to sell my ass if that’s what you want!

“Landon Harper.” She cast a frigid look at him. “Come with me. I need to talk to you.”

Landon, feeling exonerated, immediately perked up and happily trotted into her office. On the other hand, she arranged for Sean to stand guard by the door and not let anyone in without her orders.
