At the construction site, the plastic bag landed on an empty plot of land. It kept swirling in the same spot creepily.
Simultaneously, Winona and Helen were walking towards the office when they passed by that empty plot of land.
A chill ran down Winona’s spine when she saw a plastic bag swirling around in the same spot on that empty plot of land.
That was where May Lee was crushed to death…
Winona felt a creeping sensation, and the plastic bag that was swirling in the same spot suddenly stopped. She felt like it was targeting her.
She got goosebumps instantly.
“Mom…let’s go,” Winona said in a panic.
Out of the blue, a strong wind blew, and the plastic bag flew toward Winona.
Winona screamed and ran away in her high heels.
“What are you doing? What’s so scary about a plastic bag?” Helen felt extremely confused.
Just as she stopped talking, the wind stopped blowing, and the plastic bag dropped in front of Helen.
That caused Helen to immediately retract her words.
“Mom…” Winona was trembling with fear.
Suddenly, the plastic bag slapped her face forcefully!
She detected a foul odor and felt something unpleasant on her face.
She felt suffocated and promptly collapsed to the ground.
The plastic bag completely covered her face. In a panic, she attempted to rip it off but was unsuccessful!
As the plastic bag suffocated her, Helen arrived and tore it away.
“Are you alright?” Helen inquired.
The plastic bag flew away from them and twirled about a meter away. It was as if it had targeted them…
Helen also began to experience goosebumps.
According to the elders, there was a belief that when a person was struck in the face by a light and fluffy object unexpectedly, that object must be possessed.
Their faces turned as pale as paper, and they trembled with fear…
Winona and Helen trembled in fear and rushed to the office as fast as lightning. They finally calmed down when they saw people walking around the building.
As Winona turned back, she noticed the white plastic bag once again. It was following them and circling in the same place. Goosebumps and tingles erupted all over her skin.
She ran into Liam’s office and threw herself into his arms, crying.
“Liam!”
Lilly was showing Liam her drawing when Winona burst into the room.
Liam frowned and awkwardly stepped back.
Winona intended to throw herself into his arms, but when Liam stepped back, she fell face-down on the ground, causing her nose to bleed.
“Liam Crawford, you…!” Winona covered her nose and said angrily.
Curious employees passing by peeked into Liam’s office.
Helen quickly took out a napkin and criticized Liam, “Hey, what are you doing? Winona is your wife! How can you let her throw herself on the floor?”
Liam replied harshly, “I’m not into this kind of drama.”
Winona felt embarrassed. He made it seem like she was trying to seduce him.
However, she had no choice but to stay silent. She couldn’t let others know that she and Liam were not on good terms. Arguing here in the office would only make the situation worse.
Winona glanced at Lilly, and suddenly a drawing on the table caught her eye.
Lilly’s painting depicted a lady. Although it wasn’t very realistic, it had a slightly cartoonish quality…
It somehow reminded her of May Lee, who was crushed to death at the construction site five years ago!
Lilly stood up straight on the chair. She glanced at Liam and cautiously looked at Winona.
Winona’s face looked even scarier. The dark cloud covered half of her face, with only her eyes revealed. It looked scarier than ghosts and spirits!
Lilly covered her mouth and asked quietly, “Master, what’s wrong with Aunt Winona?!”
Pablo shook his head in dismay, “Oh no, did you see that slap on her face? I guess May Lee just slapped her.”
Lilly glanced at her face and mumbled to herself, “No slap! But it does smell kind of bad.”
Winona overheard Lilly and Polly murmuring words like “slap” and “smelly,” and she couldn’t hold back any longer.
She was so frightened that she forgot her face was covered in something…
Winona gagged and immediately rushed into the washroom to clean her face.
Liam glanced at Helen coldly and asked, “Why are you here?”
“My dear Liam, please listen to me. You can’t divorce Winona. Zachary and Hannah are already grown up, and they need a loving home…”
“It’s normal for husbands and wives to argue… You should spend more time at home…”
“If that’s why you’re here, I guess you can leave now.” Liam sneered.
The divorce agreement letter had already been given to Winona.
It was her choice whether to sign it or not.
However, what was done was done. Liam was going to divorce her no matter what.
Liam’s face darkened, and he pushed Helen out of his office without giving her a chance to finish her words.
When Winona came out of the washroom, Liam ruthlessly pushed her towards the door and slammed the office door shut with a loud bang.
The employees outside pretended to be busy with work, but some of them secretly filmed the scene with their smartphones.
Winona’s face turned red. “Liam Crawford, open the door!”
Meanwhile, in the office, Liam pressed a button on the telephone and muttered a few words.
Within minutes, two security guards arrived and escorted Winona and Helen out of the building!
Both of them felt extremely embarrassed as they were being stared at by many people.
“This is too much. I am his mother-in-law. How can he do this to his mother-in-law?!”
Winona felt agitated. Lilly’s drawing sent shivers down her spine.
How did she know about May Lee?
What is she doing here at the construction site…
While Winona was lost in thought, Helen continued to rant about Liam.
“Mom, go back! I will talk to Liam. You always mess things up!” Winona said irritably.
