It was 5pm and she was still standing in her house, both Gabby and Lindy were outside with her luggage, but she was still inside. He might be her Mate but hadn’t really acted like it. Not even come for her himself. Just sent his Beta everywhere instead, probably thought because he was an Alpha wolf, that was all that mattered, he could just have her presented to him and take her. It wasn’t right.

“Ella if you don’t come out, he will follow through, I don’t think he’s the type to make idol threats. Please come on lets not make a big scene. He can’t mark or mate you without your consent, its in the agreement.” Lindy was trying to get her to go with him.

“Doesn’t mean he won’t the minute I’m in his pack!”

“You’d only have to call and tell us if he did. Corey will come and get you, I assure you. We will not be standing for it either. You have your phone, just call us if you’re unhappy.”

“I’m unhappy now.” she muttered and she was, though right this minute, it was just because she still didn’t want to leave the twins, it still hurt so bad.

“Give it a chance, I’m sure once you get to know him, everything will be okay. Its just going to take a few days.”

“A few days?”

“Yes honey, and Alpha and Luna bond grows quickly when matched by the goddess herself, you know that.”

“It’ll be more than a few days, I’ll bet on it.”

Lindy laughed “Do you want to place a bet on it. I’m sure Corey and the boys would be in on it too.” she smiled right at Ella cheekily.

Ella knew that Lindy was just trying to cheer her up a bit and lighten the mood, she huffed and stepped outside finally, grabbing her compound bow case.

She could already see him over there by his car, feel the glare he was directing at her, it was now past his deadline of 5pm. Well he could shove it. She would go when she was bloody well good and ready and not before, today was hard enough, let alone having him force her to go by a set time line.

They walked over she dawdled most of the way, dragging it out as long as possible, all the way to his car, the door was already open for her to get in.

He had the hide to snap at her “I said 5pm, it’s nearly 20 past now.”

Ella glared right at him, she was here wasn’t she, shouldn’t he just be thankful that she had come at all, and that she hadn’t snuck off and run away altogether. Or verbalised a rejection. Not that she though he would accept it, he had told her he wouldn’t be.

She stood there glaring right back at him, he stepped forward and tried to grab her by the arm, she knew he was just trying to put her in the car, but why couldn’t he just ask her. She side stepped him and when he growled lowly at her Ky’ra growled right back. She didn’t want to be man handled by him either. Mate or not just ask nicely for once.

He shot forward using his wolf speed to get her and Ky’ra dodged him, they swung the bow case at him, it cracked him right in the chest, a snarl ripped out of him at the sudden attack and he turned darkened eyes on them, they were tinged with red, his Alpha wolf right there ready to back him up.

The case dropped from her hand and Ky’ra surged to the surface fully, if it was a wolf fight he would get one, she snarled right back at him, claws extending from their human fingers, and her teeth elongated. They watched his eyes move to her hands and a frown appeared on his face. His wolf receded from the surface and left just Alpha Holdener standing before her.

The sharp sting she felt snapped her hands up to her neck, claws gone and yanked the dart out. Her head whipped around to see where it came from, who dared to try and tranquillise her. Alpha Corey was already loading a second dart into the gun in his hand, his eyes were directly on her.

She staggered a little as she turned to face him “Why?” they growled at him.

“For your own good Ella.” he replied and aimed the gun at her again, Ky’ra instantly filled with fury at her own Alpha turning a gun on her and shot forward towards him, the first dart had only slowed her down, she was a large adrenaline filled wolf it would take more than one dart to take her down.

The second dart hit her in the chest and she staggered and stumbled, Ella felt Ky’ra howl as she was forced away and pushed down into darkness their connection gone “wolfs-bane” she gasped as she felt her self falling down. The last thing she felt was a pair of arms close around her and heard Corey’s apologetic voice “I’m sorry Ella.” Her eyes saw blue ones staring down at her full of concern, her Mate’s. Then the darkness swallowed her.

Holden POV

She was late, and although he knew, this was not a good day for her, she was still late. He could see Luna Lindy and Gabby had her things packed, a start she had let them pack her things, so maybe this wouldn’t be as bad, as he and Alpha Corey were expecting.

He however could with his wolfs hearing, hear the conversation they were having. Everyone here out the front of the pack-house could. Even with a mating alliance, which he intended to honour, it seemed she still didn’t have a single ounce of trust, where he was concerned. Thought that he was going to Mate and Mark her, the minute he got her back to his pack against her will. Clearly stated she was already unhappy.

He was annoyed, she didn’t even know him, hadn’t even given him a chance and it didn’t much look like, she was even willing to at this point either. If only she knew the reason he’d Alpha Duelled his own brother, and killed his unit directly afterwards, she would maybe, have some faith in him. Guess he would have to sit her down and tell her about, it at some point, it was sure to earn him some brownie points.

He was unhappy about Luna Lindy, offering to place bets on how long it would take for their Bond to work, although he could hear the joking tone and knew she was only trying to lighten the mood, to get Ella to move her butt outside and to her Mate, by his waiting car. He didn’t like it.

Holden could already hear, Alpha Corey and his unit were making bets on it. There was nothing he could do about it. This was apparently just the normal around here. He sighed and focused on his Mate, she had finally stepped out of the house.

‘Hey Holden! I want in on that bet, you think they’d let me?’ Jeremy chuckled through the mind-link

‘I’m not interested, in bets on me and my Mate, Jeremy. I don’t want to hear that you and my Alpha unit, are doing that back in the pack either.’

‘Awe come on Holden, could be a bit of fun’ he laughed back.

‘So could a month of Creche Duties.’ Holden shot back down the link.

‘Spoil sport.’ Jeremy huffed, he walked over and got in the drivers side, behind the wheel, looked and laughed at the scratch marks still all down the side of his car, that his own wolfs Mate, Ky’ra had done herself, to push his buttons.

Ella’s refusal to be on time, how hard could it be, he could see her house from here not more that 100 meters away. And the way she dawdled her way over here, clearly slowing her steps on purpose. To drag it out for as long as she possibly could, had brought his annoyance right to the surface, he hadn’t been able to stop himself from snapping at her about the time, had reminded her she was late.
