“Mr. Phillips, get in here!” Headmaster Hawthorne shouted from inside his office.

“Now I understand why you like to beat people up.” Jude grinned, rising from his seat. “It’s so… exhilarating . I might have to do this more often.”

“Please don’t.” Sebastian grimaced, running a hand through his hair as he watched Zak leave the office without a word. “If you get expelled, be sure to tell your parents I had absolutely nothing to do with it.”

“You got it.” Jude sent him a mock salute before stepping into the headmaster’s office.

Once he was out of sight, Taliana turned to Sebastian. “Are you as shocked as I am?”

He merely shrugged. “Jude may be a little flamboyant, but I sure as hell wouldn’t want to get in a fight with him.”

“Neither would I,” Taliana agreed, still looking on in awe. “Neither would I.”

Sense and Insensibility

By the time the bell rang to mark the end of first period, it seemed like the entire upper school had seen Taliana half-naked. And much to Sebastian’s chagrin, it was now all they could talk about.

“A rap sheet, nude shots… What’s next? A full-on porno? That girl is out of control.”

“Dude, she may be out of control, but at least she’s hot. I mean, yeah, she’s kinda lacking in the tits department, but those legs! No wonder Phillips went after her.”

“Did you see that ad she did for her mother’s fashion house? I hear these were the test shots.”

“No way! Her mother let her pose like that?”

“Well, duh, they’re both huge sluts.

Everybody knows that.”

“Ew, she’s like disgustingly skinny. Ugh, I don’t see why Sebastian’s dating her.”

“They don’t even look good together. He and Blair were perfect though, don’t you think?”

“I think he’d be perfect with? me.”

“Pft, yeah, right. We would have been amazing together. Too bad he only has eyes for Stick Girl.”

“Well, I heard she’s cheating on him with Richardson. Trisha told me that Jenny totally saw them getting all cozy at Discotheque M the other night. I think they ended up going home together!”

“Please, that’s old news. Didn’t you hear she’s pregnant with Jacob’s child? She took these pictures for him so he could remember what she looked like before she got huge. When she threatened to tell Seb that Jacob was the father, he sent the pics to everyone.”

Taliana’s face had turned a very unflattering shade of red as soon as they’d stepped out of Miss Cohen’s classroom, and once again she looked like she was a heartbeat away from committing a murder.

“I swear to god,” Taliana mumbled, glaring at anyone who had the nerve to look her way. “If another person says something about me, I’m going to-“

But her threat was cut short by the voice of the headmaster’s secretary over the intercom.

“Taliana Avilla, please report to Headmaster Hawthorne’s office. Taliana Avilla, to the headmaster’s office.”

The girl in question hissed a curse under her breath before turning to him. “Great, now I have to go face Hawthorne.”

“I’d offer to come with you,” Sebastian began, “but my sense of self-preservation is too strong. Sorry, Stick Girl.”

“Asshole.” He watched as she blew out a breath, running a hand through her hair. “Don’t celebrate too much if I get expelled.”

With that, she stalked off down the hallway. Just as she turned the corner, Michael appeared at Sebastian’s side. There was an amused sparkle in his hazel eyes, but his shoulders seemed abnormally tense.

“How’s your girlfriend handling this?” his best friend inquired. “That was pretty low of Huntington, but I have to admit, Stick Girl looked damn good in those photos.”

Sebastian shoved Michael’s shoulder before opening his locker. “You have no idea how much it bothers me knowing you’ve seen those.”

“Why?” he teased, leaning in closer so Sebastian could see his smirk. “You want to keep her all to yourself? Something only you can appreciate? I didn’t know you were so possessive, sweetheart.”

Yeah, he hadn’t known either. “You’re pushing it.”

“I totally get it, you’re the jealous type.” Michael shot him a knowing look before sobering a bit. “You going to class or are you planning to wait for her?”

Sebastian realized then that the hallway was beginning to empty as everyone wandered off to their respective classes.

“I think I’ll wait,” he said, mostly because he wanted to be the first to know if she ended up getting kicked out again. “Shouldn’t take too long. Besides, I need to make a call anyway.”

Michael nodded and clapped him on the shoulder. “Text me later with the news, yeah?”

The boys parted ways, with Michael headed toward his next class and Sebastian toward the main office. He pulled out his phone as he went, tapping a name on the screen before putting the phone to his ear.

“Dad, hey,” he said when the man on the other line picked up. “I need a favor.”

Sebastian had been right: it didn’t take long before Stick Girl was shuffling out of the headmaster’s office and into the hall.

He’d been waiting near the front doors, just out of sight of the secretary, but able to see whoever came and went. Taliana looked briefly surprised to see him standing there, but it soon faded to make way for a look of malcontent.

“So how did it go?” he questioned, falling into step beside her as she started toward the doors to the parking lot.
