She managed to slip from his grasp and wasted no time sprinting back down the hallway. Though the move had clearly shocked him, Sebastian recovered in time to push Taliana against the white cinderblock before she could make it far.

Taliana gasped as her back hit, but she still managed a glare as she curled her fingers into the front of his shirt. “What are you doing?”

“Trying to keep you from killing Zak, me, or yourself,” he answered through gritted teeth, clearly trying hard to keep her from doing anything rash.

“I’m not going to hurt either of us,” Taliana spat, struggling to get away. “I’m just going to kill him. Now let me? go .”

She arched off the wall, but Sebastian pushed her back again. “No. You do that and you’ll be spending the rest of your miserable life in a prison cell.”

“Why do you even? care?”

Taliana once again slipped out of his grasp, but he seized her upper arm before she could get far. She’d barely managed to gasp in protest when he whisked her toward the stairs, and despite digging her heels into the ground, he managed to get her up to the second floor. There were fewer students on that level, but all eyes instantly went to Sebastian and Taliana as they stumbled into the hallway. He suddenly released his grip on her arm, causing her to stumble back, but she regained her balance and started for the stairs again.

Sebastian, however, was quick to block her way.

“Move,” Taliana demanded, glaring for all she was worth.

He didn’t even look like he was considering it. “No.”

Taliana was practically shaking with rage as she rushed him. Unfortunately, he was quick to grab her, and before she knew it, he once again had her pinned against the wall, wrists high above her head.

“Knock it off,” he grunted, using his weight to keep her there. “Stop, Taliana. People are watching.”

“Let them watch,” she hissed, writhing under him as she tried to break free. Upon realizing he was too strong, Taliana ceased struggling long enough to look him dead in the eyes. “Seb, I can’t let him get away with this. And if you don’t let me go, I swear I won’t hesitate to hurt you as well.”

Sebastian merely rolled his eyes. “Oh, please. Like you would be stupid enough to try that again.”

“I hate you,” Taliana seethed as she continued to struggle, but a sudden wave of heat rushed through her when she realized exactly how close they were. Their hips were pressed against each other, chests touching, and their lips were only a crucial half inch apart, close enough to brush if either of them chose to lean in. At that point, Taliana wasn’t sure if she wanted it to happen or not.

“I hate you more,” he murmured.

Her gaze was trained on his mouth, silently debating whether to close the distance between them or to do what was expected of her.

She went with the latter.

Taliana’s knee connected with his groin, and Sebastian let out a pained groan before dropping her wrists. Knowing this was probably her only opportunity to make a break for it, she took off down the hall in the direction of the stairwell. A few more steps and she would be in the clear, but before she could reach the top step, someone caught her and tugged her back.

“Whoa, hold up,” a familiar voice called from behind her. “I really don’t think Seb wants you going anywhere.”

Taliana whipped her head around to snarl at the person holding her back. “Jacob, you just saw what I did to your friend back there. Don’t make me do it to you, too.”

Jacob winced, but he still didn’t release her. “Come on, don’t make me the bad guy here. I’m just doing what Sebastian wants.”

“I swear, if you don’t let me go-“

His arms dropped from around her before she could finish her threat, but just as she was about to dash off again, her feet were suddenly swept off the ground, and she found herself being slung across a broad shoulder.

“You’re just keen on my making my life a living hell,” Sebastian sighed, his grip hard on her thighs.

She was speechless for a moment, unable to believe what he had just done, but she regained her senses as they lurched into motion.

“Put me down!” she gasped.

“Oh, shut up.”

A breeze fluttered against Taliana’s backside, and she knew she was flashing everyone in the hallway. “Come on, put me down! Everyone can see my underwear!”

“Not my problem.”

“I? hate you.”

Taliana sucked in a sharp breath when his fingers dug into her thigh. “Could you have said that any louder?” he hissed before raising his voice once more in order for the crowd of onlookers to hear him. “That’s not what you said last night.”

“I’m going to kill you,” Taliana growled, as he began moving down the stairs. “And I’m going to enjoy? every second of it.”

She could practically feel Sebastian roll his eyes. “Drama queen.”

“Pencil dick!”

Sebastian laughed as he reached the bottom stair. “Come on, you know firsthand that one isn’t true.”

“Whatever,” she grumbled, her cheeks warm.

“So you’re not denying it?” He sounded vaguely surprised. “Wow, Talia, that means a lot to me.”

“I hate you so damn much.”

“Feeling’s mutual, baby.”

They were outside a moment later, moving toward what Taliana assumed to be the parking lot, though she couldn’t actually see where they were going. Her suspicions were confirmed when the ground shifted from white sidewalk to blacktop, and the bumpers of cars came into view.

“Where are we going?” she demanded, trying once again to break free.

Sebastian didn’t answer but lifted one hand from Taliana’s thigh momentarily to reach into his pocket. The sound of his car’s alarm being turned off came next, and before she could try again to escape, she found herself being tossed into the backseat of his Mercedes.

Unfortunately for him, her hand was still curled into his shirt, causing him to come down with her. However, she didn’t realize how terrible that was until he fell on top of her, successfully knocking the air out of her lungs.
