Caden silently slipped his shirt on, not saying a single word.

Alicia reached for him again. “Why the hurry? It feels so good. Let me touch a little longer.”

Caden’s face was a mix of emotions. “What’s so enjoyable about touching?”

Alicia asked, “Then why do you always touch me?”

“We’re different,” he responded.

As he spoke, Caden had already fastened all the buttons on his shirt.

It was the first time Alicia had seen Caden, usually so bold, appear shy in such a way. She couldn’t help but tease him more. “You’re so sensitive that you can’t even handle a touch?”

Suddenly, Caden turned the tables, pressing her against the wall. “Do you enjoy touching that much?” he said, his fingers teasingly lifting her shirt. “Shall we make it a fair exchange then?”

Alicia instantly behaved. Yet, she found herself trapped in his embrace, their lips meeting.

Caden had been on his best behavior all week to recover, seeing little of Alicia.

The long-suppressed desire flared up, and Caden rubbed her face, his eyes slightly red.

Laughing, Alicia wrapped her arms around his neck. “Since you’ve been taking such good care of yourself, I thought I would reward you today.”

Caden’s breathing intensified. “You promised me last time, three whole days and nights.”

Alicia’s smile faded, and she playfully punched him. “Can’t you cut it out? That was just a bedtime story to help you fall asleep.”

“Who tells such bedtime stories?” he retorted.

Taking her words to heart, Caden said stubbornly, “A promise is a promise. There’s no going back now.” Alicia was at a loss for words.

Caden, seizing the moment, held her face tenderly and kissed her. “We’ve never had sex in a hospital. Maybe I should postpone my discharge by a day?”

“Caden, don’t you have any shame?” Alicia scolded.

He responded by silencing her with another kiss. Their intimate moment was abruptly interrupted by approaching footsteps.

Caden let go of Alicia.

Hank entered and said, “Mr. Ward, your discharge papers are ready.”

In the corner, Alicia hastily adjusted her hair and smoothed her clothes.

Caden quickly drew the curtain to hide her and then made his way out.

Noticing a lipstick stain on Caden’s lips, Hank realized Alicia had been there. He coughed discreetly and averted his gaze. “Get the car ready,” Caden instructed. “I’ll be down in a minute.”

“Understood.” Hank left promptly.

That evening, back at the apartment, Alicia tried out a new dessert recipe for Caden.

Aware of his dietary restrictions due to a stomach condition, Alicia prepared the cream without sugar. She sampled a bit on her finger and offered it to him. “Does it taste okay?”

Caden leaned against the counter, encircling her with his arms. Rather than tasting the cream, he kissed her finger. “Sweet,” he said softly, his gaze intense and predatory, showing little interest in the dessert itself.

Alicia’s entire body tingled from his warmth as she whispered, “You haven’t even had dinner yet. Can you wait a little?”

Caden responded playfully, “What are we waiting for?” Alicia, left speechless, scooped another bit of cream and fed it to him.

Caden consumed it eagerly, his throat moving visibly as he swallowed. “What’s this reward you mentioned today?” he asked.

A sparkle lit up Alicia’s eyes. With a smile she couldn’t suppress, she teased, “I’ll tell you when it’s time.”

Before long, whipped cream was playfully smeared all over Alicia, which Caden licked off her slowly, savoring each moment.

The sweet aroma of cream filled the living room. Caden, caught in the moment, debated internally whether Alicia or the cream was sweeter.

Their embrace, intense and enduring, seemed unwilling to relent.

With remarkable patience, Caden explored every corner of their apartment with Alicia, each space echoing with memories of their togetherness.

Alicia felt as if she were in a dream, one from which she had no desire to awaken.

Droplets of sweat from Caden, clinging to his skin, fell onto Alicia, making her feel as though she too was dissolving like the cream.

After their repeated moments of closeness, Caden and Alicia paused on the sheets for a quick rest.

He kissed her face tirelessly while Alicia, exhausted, clung weakly to his hair, her throat dry.

She looked up, her eyes moist. The handsome man before her gazed down, his deep affection evident. Sweat had soaked his hair, adding a wild, enticing element to his appearance.

Alicia reached up to wipe away his sweat. “Let’s stop,” she suggested, her body aching, mindful of his recent surgery. “You’ve just been discharged.”

Caden didn’t say anything, but his actions clearly conveyed his response.

Despite taking occasional breaks over the next three days, the frequency of their intimate encounters brought Caden a deep sense of fulfillment. He had indulged himself thoroughly, leaving Alicia completely drained.

Under Alicia’s firm insistence, Caden agreed to a temporary pause. He tucked her into a warm, cozy spot to sleep and then went to prepare some food.

Wrapped in a blanket, Alicia watched him move about the kitchen. Despite her tiredness, she couldn’t help but smile.

Caden, aware that her hands were aching, took it upon himself to feed her.

Alicia finished her meal slowly.

Noticing her slightly rounded belly, Caden felt a surge of contentment. He couldn’t help but place his hand over it. Yet, as his mind shifted to their lost baby from two years ago, his smile faded into a pensive expression. At that time, their baby had been two months old. The tiny fetus was only the size of a thumb then, and Alicia showed no external signs of pregnancy.

Despite the passage of two years, the painful memory of their loss was still sharp and clear. It felt as though an unseen force squeezed Caden’s heart, making his fingers tremble.

Alicia placed her hand over Caden’s.

Turning his face away, Caden’s voice was rough with emotion. “You should rest. I’ll clean up and then come back.”

But Alicia wouldn’t let him go. She climbed into his lap, seeking comfort in his embrace.

Caden pulled the blanket around her. He held her tightly, his eyes never leaving her face. “Are you tired?” he asked softly.

Alicia didn’t hide her fatigue and nodded. “I’m exhausted!” she said, looking at him pointedly. “You seem to only think of your own needs.”

Caden chuckled. Though he had indeed exhausted her, she had always experienced pleasure before him during their intimate moments.

From the beginning until now, Caden had always been attentive. He massaged her aching waist. “Is the pressure alright?”

“It’s fine,” Alicia murmured.

Caden’s hands didn’t linger. They moved from her back down to her legs, soothing every part of her. His gentle touches unintentionally stirred her again.

Alicia’s soft murmurs began to shift in tone.

Pausing momentarily, Caden suddenly asked, “Lucky, let’s get married, okay?”

Taken aback, Alicia was silent.

His massage remained gentle and rhythmic, though he avoided her gaze. Alicia didn’t say anything.

After a few seconds of silence, Caden looked up impatiently. “Well, what do you say?”

Alicia nodded. “Alright.”

Their conversation flowed naturally, marked by a surprising calmness.

Caden felt his heart soften, a mixture of excitement bubbling within him, yet he managed to hold it back. Unable to contain his bubbling joy, he grinned and said, “Say it again.”

Alicia moved closer, her arms encircling his neck. “I said yes,” she whispered, her voice a gentle echo in his ear. “I am willing to marry you, Caden.” Their lips met in a tender kiss.

Alicia’s response was fervent, their heartbeats merging, momentarily shattering the peace.

In the depths of their emotions, Alicia brushed away the tears she felt on his face. Her own eyes brimmed with tears as she reassured him, “Don’t be sad. I’m not going anywhere again.”

Caden quickly said, “I’m not sad, just overwhelmed with joy.”

His sharp features, usually so striking, now softened by emotion, did nothing to diminish his strong presence, which seemed to enfold Alicia completely.

Alicia couldn’t suppress a laugh. Caden was not one to admit defeat, no matter the circumstance. Still, her love for him remained unchanged.

She held his face gently. “Aren’t you curious about the surprise I’ve prepared?”

After cleaning off the traces of their intimate encounters, Caden showed no signs of expecting a surprise. “What is it?” he asked, his interest seemingly muted.

Alicia sensed his exhaustion. With a playful gesture, she slid her leg against his waist. “There’s a gift box in the suitcase by the door. Inside is white silk a client gave me. Should I wear it for you now?”

Caden met her teasing gaze. “Still daring to tease me?” He chuckled. “Do you want to end up staying in the hospital for a couple of days?”

Alicia responded lightly, “It seems you’re the one who’s worn out. Have I exhausted you?”

No man enjoyed being challenged on his stamina.

Caden let her go and walked over to retrieve the gift box. Alicia turned to watch him, propping her chin up with her hand.

The suitcase indeed contained a beautifully wrapped gift box.

Caden opened it, expecting the promised silk, but instead, he found a document. He reached for the document, and his breath hitched unexpectedly. His frame tensed for a moment before he turned to Alicia. “When did you go through with the in vitro fertilization?”
