His eyes bore into hers, emotions swirling. “When you left Warrington, did you decide to leave me forever?”

Alicia’s heart ached at the question. Tears welled in her eyes, spilling over despite her efforts to hold them back.

She had made that decision firmly back then. But distance had made it easier to feel resolute. Now, being with Caden again, her walls were crumbling.

Caden frowned, his heart tightening as her tears fell. Gently, he wiped them away, his voice thick with regret. “I’m sorry.”

Alicia sniffled, her voice cracking. “That’s all you have to say? Just ‘sorry’?”

“Then punish me,” he said quietly, pressing his forehead against hers. “Do whatever you need to. Just don’t keep it bottled up anymore.”

Alicia’s breathing steadied. She ran her fingers through his hair playfully, a faint smile breaking through her tears.

“You know what you look like right now, Caden?” she teased.

He closed his eyes, leaning into her neck. “Like your lover.”

Her body stiffened at his words.

“No, I think I am indeed your lover.” His tone carried a mix of tenderness and tipsy confidence.

Alicia sighed, shaking her head. “You remind me of Cade.” Her comparison stung.

Ever since her return, she had treated him like he was nothing. The only time her eyes sparkled was when she talked about Cade.

“I’m better than that dog,” Caden shot back, a hint of irritation creeping into his voice. “Touch me as much as you want. I won’t shed any fur.”

Alicia couldn’t help but laugh through her tears, her smile finally breaking free.

“So, if I call you Cade, will you respond?” she asked playfully.

“Of course.”

“Then prove it,” she said, cradling his face. “Cade.”

“Yeah,” he replied, his voice low.

“Not like that. Cade wouldn’t respond so weakly.”

Caden smirked, mischief glinting in his eyes. “You’ll need to kiss me, and then I’ll have the strength to respond loudly.”

Alicia hesitated. She suspected that he wasn’t as drunk as he seemed, though his gaze remained hazy.

Still, she leaned in and kissed him. “Cade,” she said again softly.

Caden licked his lips, a playful glint in his eyes. “Do I need to sound more like him?”

Alicia rolled her eyes, ready to end the charade, but Caden added before she could, “When Cade reacts, his tail wags like crazy. What about me?”

Her brows furrowed in confusion until she noticed his gaze shift downward.

She followed it and froze, realizing what he meant.

Caden chuckled, his voice teasing. “Does it matter if a dog’s tail is in front? If you want to see it wag, you must give it some attention.”

Under the effects of the medicine, Caden let himself go and turned up the charm. But his flirtations were all verbal. He wouldn’t actually make a move on Alicia.

Before, Caden had been bold, relying on Alicia’s affection for him and having sex with her whenever and wherever he wanted. Now his desires went beyond mere physical contact. He wanted to capture her heart as well.

To some observers, his behaviour may have seemed respectful, giving Alicia the power to make her own choices. But in reality, he was simply flirting and dropping playful hints. In essence, he was trying to woo her.

That evening, Alicia seemed to get into the game, responding to his playful remarks.

Eventually, however, Caden became so exhausted that he fell asleep. He slept soundly for eight hours and woke up feeling refreshed, completely free of any hangover. The bed beside him was empty, but the faint scent of Alicia’s hair lingered in the air. They both used the same shampoo, but somehow Alicia’s scent was always a little more enticing, and Caden found himself longing to be enveloped in that scent, wishing he could absorb it completely.

Then delicious smells wafted from the kitchen and Caden was pleasantly surprised. He hadn’t expected Alicia to prepare breakfast.

With a spring in his step, Caden jumped into the shower. As he glanced at his reflection, he admired his toned physique and defined abs. Also, the size of his hardness was huge. He knew his body would attract Alicia’s attention, so he simply wrapped a towel around himself. He made sure the towel draped loosely around him, subtly showing off his “V-line. “

Noticing movement in the kitchen, Caden poured himself a glass of water and walked over, acting nonchalant. “What’s for breakfast?”

Caden was stunned when the person turned around.

Startled, Caden quickly grabbed a nearby coat, his initial erection fading.

The maid nodded toward the hallway behind him. “Ms. Bennett has been in the study all morning.”

As Caden turned, he noticed Alicia casually leaning against the study door, her eyes playfully scanning his bare, muscular calves.

“What kind of style is that, Mr. Ward? So hot! Seems like you’ve lost your pants,” Alicia teased.

Caden’s expression darkened at her comment. The maid suppressed a chuckle. Being the regular maid here, she was familiar with both Caden and Alicia. She could tell Caden had mistaken her for Alicia just now.

After returning to his room to dress properly, Caden entered the study and closed the door behind him. “I thought you were in the kitchen just now,” he explained. The kitchen’s tainted glass door had blocked his view, and he had seen only gray shadows on the wall, not looking closely.

Pausing her work, Alicia looked up at Caden, her eyes twinkling with amusement. “I’m slightly disappointed. I was hoping the maid would compliment your amazing shape.”

Caden grew even more irritated. “You saw me walking over, didn’t you?”

“Yes.”

“And you didn’t think to stop me?”

“Why would I?” Alicia responded, feigning innocence. “You were just going to say hello, right?”

Caden exhaled heavily. “Nobody greets a maid while barely covered with a towel.”

He was convinced she had figured out he was trying to flirt with her. Indeed, Alicia knew his intentions, but she wasn’t about to admit it.

“Who’s to say?” she replied with a shrug. “I wouldn’t be surprised if you were the one greeting a maid with a loose towel.”

Caden fell silent. He meticulously fastened every button on his shirt before shifting the topic. “Did I get wasted last night?”

He recalled having just one drink, yet he felt utterly destroyed.

“Don’t you remember that I drugged you?” Alicia remarked.

“What did you give me?” Caden frowned.

“An aphrodisiac.”

Alicia’s lips twitched. “Why would you think that?”

“I felt like I was in the middle of a steamy dream, but it led nowhere,” he explained, his voice tinged with regret.

Alicia fell quiet.

Caden asked earnestly, “So, what exactly happened last night?”

She glanced at her computer screen. “Nothing major. I just saw your hidden self.”

Caden arched an eyebrow. “Oh? A pervert?”

Alicia paused to consider. “A bit.”

“Just a bit? That might still be me. I can be quite the pervert.”

His casual acceptance of the fact produced a chuckle from Alicia. “Seriously, you don’t recall anything you said last night?” she asked.

Caden pondered for a moment and then shook his head. He narrowed his eyes in curiosity. “What exactly did I say?”

“You barked like a dog,” Alicia responded.

Caden just stared, bewildered. “Huh?”

Caden appeared momentarily confused. His eyes locked with Alicia’s, as he tried to discern whether she was joking. Given their history of playful banter, he was wary. “Did I really do that?” Caden asked, a shadow of doubt flickering in his gaze.

Alicia had expected his doubts and had her evidence ready. She turned her laptop around for him to see. “I recorded this last night and uploaded it to your laptop. Let’s watch it together,” she said, hitting play with a teasing smile.

The video was dimly lit, yet Caden’s uncertain expression was clear. Their voices were audible in the background. Alicia teased, “Bark for me, Cade.” Caden mimicked a dog barking.

At the footage, Caden raised an eyebrow. “It was all in good fun,” he said, attempting to brush it off.

Alicia propped her chin on her hands, her eyes twinkling. “Just wait. There’s more.”

The video continued with Caden’s slightly slurred voice, making playful requests like asking her to touch his “tail.” “I’m kind of flirty,” Caden commented casually.

“There’s more to come,” Alicia replied.

Soon after, in the video, Caden’s voice deepened. “I want to eat you, Lucky.”

“What exactly?” Alicia asked.

Silence fell as Caden reached for her ankle and knelt down.

Caden facepalmed at the unfolding scene and swiftly snapped the laptop shut, cutting off the video. The room grew quiet.

“What’s wrong? Didn’t you say it was just for fun? Can’t bear to watch the rest?” Alicia asked coolly..

Caden’s face flushed, his lips pressed tightly together.

With a smirk, Alicia added, “I thought despite your wild side in bed, you’d at least be somewhat normal. I didn’t expect you’d have these kinds of kinks.”
