Before he could respond in anger, the car suddenly sped up and surged forward rapidly.

Caden immediately felt nauseous.

He had had too much to drink tonight, and though he wasn’t drunk, he was uncomfortable.

Now, his body was jolted around the car violently, his stomach in turmoil, almost making him throw up.

He gripped the seat tightly, fighting back the urge to vomit, his face turning white.

“Are you trying to kill us by driving so fast?”

Hearing this, Alicia pressed the accelerator even harder, and the car took a sharp turn.

Caden was nearly tossed into the passenger seat.

The car quickly picked up speed, and they arrived home in no time.

As soon as the car stopped, Caden hurriedly opened the door and threw up a mouthful of alcohol.

Alicia looked over.

Seeing that he had vomited only clear liquid, she realized he hadn’t eaten in at least a day.

She felt a twinge of satisfaction from getting back at him but also a pang of regret for his upset stomach.

With a look of annoyance, she said, “Why didn’t you just drink yourself to death at the club?”

Caden finished throwing up, wiped his mouth, and gave her a cold look.

His complexion was pale, but he still managed to look strikingly handsome. His weakness gave him the charisma of a flawless vampire, forever captivating to women.

Sometimes, Alicia was tempted to report him.

Why did fate have to make Caden so flawless, eliciting sympathy even when he was at fault?

Caden held his stomach.

Alicia asked bluntly, “Is your stomach bothering you?”

Caden knew she would end up taking care of him, which slightly lifted the gloom in his heart, though his face remained expressionless.

“Get a new passenger seat tomorrow,” he demanded.

Alicia shouted, “You’re out of your mind. I drove to the airport alone, had dinner with Mr. Langstaff, and we parted ways there. He never got into my car.”

Caden’s face relaxed a little.

“Really?”

That sounded more reasonable.

He went straight upstairs, still clutching his stomach.

Alicia watched him go, her annoyance lingering, and consciously stayed on the opposite side of the room.

The distance between them felt as though an elephant could fit between them.

Once inside, Caden collapsed on the sofa in his wet clothes and shut his eyes, trying to sleep.

Initially, Alicia didn’t want to engage with him, but seeing him in discomfort from his stomach and soaked from the rain, she couldn’t help feeling responsible.

She approached and nudged his foot as she said, “Take a shower before you sleep.”

Win Me Over

Caden remained still.

“Just leave me be,” he muttered coldly.

Alicia was seething.

“Can you stop being so immature? We can argue, but why must you neglect your health over it?”

Caden’s reply was cold as ice.

“Stop worrying about me. If I die, it’ll be by my own hand. You’ll be free to find happiness with someone else.”

Alicia clenched her teeth and kicked him forcefully.

“If that’s the case, you better die tonight. I’ll plan your funeral for the morning and have your ashes scattered in the ocean by afternoon.”

Caden slowly opened his eyes, his voice indifferent.

“Why scatter my ashes in the ocean? Consider mixing them into cream and baking them into a cake. Celebrate with your new love. It would add a nice touch, don’t you think?”

Alicia shuddered in hatred.

“Caden, you are so disgusting.”

“Oh, it even gets worse,” Caden continued blandly.

“After I’m gone, my ghost will hover over your bed every night, just to see if he satisfies you more than I did.”

Alicia retorted, unbothered, “Why just hover? Why not possess him so you can both join in? I’ve never had a ghostly encounter before!”

Caden sneered, “You think you’ll enjoy life after I’m gone? Keep dreaming. Besides, I have talents he lacks. How many men can match my stamina and size?”

Alicia almost laughed at his vanity.

He was drunk and felt indestructible.

If he was that wonderful, why didn’t he go become an adult movie actor?

Caring for him seemed like a wasted effort.

His biting comments didn’t suit someone with a stomach ache.

Whether he caught a cold or not was no longer her concern.

Alicia stormed into the bedroom and slammed the door behind her.

Caden shut his eyes, resolute in his stubbornness.

Eventually, Gerry called.

He sounded more sober.

“Caden, have you made it home?”

Caden, feeling down, responded, “Yeah, I’m home. Do you really think I’d get lost?”

Gerry answered, “I was just concerned you might run into trouble after all those drinks. There are all sorts of weirdos out there.”

Caden cleared his throat, a touch of pride in his voice, saying, “No need to worry, Alicia drove me.”

Gerry, curious, asked, “So, did you guys patch things up already?”

“No, she’s trying to win me over.”

Before he could continue, Alicia abruptly opened the bedroom door.

Caden quickly ended the call and tried to go back to sleep.

He assumed she was coming to check on him, but instead, she just tossed a set of men’s pajamas out of the room and closed the door again.

Caden felt even more overwhelmed. His stomach churned, his head spun, and his clothes were cold and damp.

Then, the dog jogged over, grabbed the pajamas, and carried them to its bed.

Caden watched it coldly.

The dog seemed to enjoy the scent on the pajamas, snuggling into them happily.

Annoyed, Caden walked over and shooed the dog away.

The dog backed off, looking puzzled.

Caden intended to pick up the pajamas, especially since Alicia had purchased them as part of a matching set. They were very comfortable.

However, now that the dog had been all over them, his need for cleanliness made him hesitate.

His frustration grew.

Clearly, she was in the wrong, yet she was acting tough, even tossing clothes at him as if to provoke him.

Was she trying to suggest he should leave next? The more Caden dwelled on it, the angrier he became, glaring at the dog.

Feeling threatened, the dog tried to escape, but Caden caught it by the collar.

The dog whimpered, looking toward Alicia in the bedroom for help.

Alicia, confused, got up to investigate, only to find Caden carrying the dog toward the kitchen.
