Chapter 282 – When His Wife Can’t Forgive

“Caden?” she called out as she leaned against the headboard, wiping cold sweat from her forehead.

There was no response.

Alicia felt as though she was still trapped in her nightmare.

She shot out of bed in a panic, just as Caden emerged from the bathroom.

His gray robe was loosely tied at the waist, exposing the broad expanse of his well-defined chest.

“Why are you awake?” he asked, his voice slightly hoarse. His tone was soft and inviting.

Alicia let out a sigh of relief and flopped back against the pillows.

She was too embarrassed to admit that she had just had a nightmare and had been about to look for him. So she made up an excuse, saying, “I… I need to use the bathroom.”

Caden had just finished using the bathroom himself. “You had to call my name when you needed the bathroom?” he asked with a smirk. “Do you need my help?”

Alicia turned bright red. “Is there any news about Yolanda?”

“Yeah, Hank said she had minor injuries. What did I tell you? It was just another one of her acts.”

Caden crossed the room, gathered her into his arms, and carried her to the bathroom.

Alicia finally allowed herself to relax. “Well, as long as it’s nothing serious,” she breathed.

Meanwhile, Caden took advantage of her distraction and swiftly removed her underwear under the pretext of helping her use the toilet.

Startled, Alicia squirmed in his arms and began to flail her legs. “What are you doing? Let go of me!”

“What’s the big deal?” Caden said, his face serious even though his tone was playful. “This is normal between a couple.”

“Stop talking nonsense! Who in their right mind would do this?” Utterly mortified, Alicia continued to struggle, but Caden kept a firm grip on her. In the end, her efforts were in vain.

The only thing she accomplished was to further provoke Caden’s passions, and he seemed to have regained his energy after that brief nap.

“Hurry and go,” he whispered in her ear. “Then we can go back to bed.”

Alicia felt her ears burning. “1 can’t pee like this!”

“What do you prefer? Like that once, in bed?” Images flashed through Alicia’s mind and he had to close her eyes to block them out. “No!

Caden’s control finally snapped. Without saying anything, he slammed the toilet lid shut, then made her bend over it while he grabbed her hips.

Alicia had no choice but to surrender and let him have his way with her.

Even if Alicia wanted to, there was no way she could ever escape.

Her body responded to him with an overwhelming intensity, as if it were second nature. A simple touch made her gush down there, all wet and ready to take him.

It was almost like magic.

Caden, too, was captivated by the incredible chemistry they shared. It didn’t matter how long they were apart, he was as insatiable as ever when they were together.

Alicia’s figure was quite ordinary, but her flesh was smooth and supple under his touch, and the sounds that escaped her luscious lips never failed to drive him crazy.

Her eyes always seemed to captivate him, especially when they were filled with tears, wide and pleading.

Needless to say, their session on the toilet seat wasn’t very fulfilling.

Alicia mentioned moving to the bed once or twice, but Caden was practically rooted to the spot.

Back to the bedroom, Caden,” she urged him again.

Despite his powerful thrusts, his pace remained steady and there was no sign of effort on his handsome face. “What’s the rush?” he rasped. “You haven’t finished your business yet. “What business?” Alicia blurted out.

“Weren’t you going to pee?”

Alicia had forgotten her little white lie. She looked at him in disbelief.

Unfortunately for her, Caden had his ways of getting what he wanted.

Even if she didn’t have to go, he would somehow make sure she did.

And sure enough, Caden got what he wanted. He wiped Alicia clean and carried her back to bed, her legs dangling limply over his arm.

A thin sheen of sweat coated Caden’s body, but he wasn’t the least bit winded..

When Alicia met his gaze again, his eyes burned with so much desire. She felt a momentary fear that he would swallow her whole.

“You finished it, right?” Caden teased with a grin. “Be careful not to wet the sheets again, darling.”

Alicia couldn’t take it anymore. “Shut up!” she snapped, trying to sound angry but failing miserably.

Caden chuckled and clicked his tongue. “Oh, right, I forgot how wet you get. The sheets are bound to get ruined one way or another.”

Not wanting to hear another crude remark, Alicia reached up and kissed him, but had to pull away when she ran out of breath. “Why are you embarrassed?” Caden asked, obviously not done teasing her. “It’s proof of your love for me. Aren’t we a perfect balance? One strong and powerful, the other soft and gentle…

The bed creaked as the headboard banged against the wall for hours. The room fell silent only when dawn began to creep into the sky.

Caden slept lightly for the next few hours, but when he awoke he was completely refreshed.

There was no further word from the hospital.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Dorian hadn’t slept all night,

Regina had returned after hearing the news. When Yolanda woke up and saw her at the hospital bed, she just sneered at her mother. Why didn’t you wait until I was dead before you came back?”

“Don’t say that, Yolanda,” Dorian scolded in a hoarse voice. He gestured to Regina and pulled her outside.

Regina withdrew her hand almost immediately, her expression cold as ice.

She was deeply disappointed in her daughter, but Yolanda’s words still stung. “How is she? Regina asked.

“She’s fine,” Dorian replied. He hadn’t seen Regina in a long time. He missed her very much.

But with everything that had happened lately, he couldn’t find the courage to hug her.

They sat quietly on the benches that lined the corridor.

Dorian, Yolanda isn’t the only reason I came back,” Regina began. “I heard you sent someone abroad.” She couldn’t even bring herself to say the despicable words. Her face was filled with worry and sorrow as she touched on the delicate subject.

Dorian didn’t bother to hide the truth. “If this goes on, Yolanda’s life is really in danger.

Yolanda’s life will really be in danger. I had no choice.”

Regina bit back her anger. “What are you going to do? Are you going to let him die?

Dorian’s voice was filled with hatred as he said, “He forced my hand. Yolanda is our daughter. It’s only natural that I want to protect her.”

Regina shook her head in a mixture of disappointment and helplessness. “You’re just like your daughter! Yolanda is the only one to blame, but you choose to drag others along instead of letting her face the consequences of her actions. Do you realize the chaos that awaits you if you go through with this? Do you think you can control everything?

Dorian took a deep breath and reiterated his position on the matter. “When all is said and done, Caden is just a pawn for Yolanda. If I put my mind to it, there’s nothing I can’t do.”

“What about the years of friendship with the Ward family?” Regina asked. “Does that mean nothing to you?”

Dorian let out a cold, humorless laugh. He looked like a man driven to the edge, with no other recourse. “I won’t do anything extreme. Not yet. It all depends on his next move.”

He reached for his wife’s hand. “Regina, Caden and I are now rivals in a fierce game. We are fighting for the people we care about. There’s nothing wrong with that.”

Regina looked deep into his eyes, her earlier disappointment turning into pain. “Your daughter isn’t worth it anymore.”

“Of course, she is,” Dorian insisted softly. “I love her almost as much as I love you.”

Tears welled up in Regina’s eyes. Her heart grew heavy at his words. “Why would you do this, Dorian?”

“Caden allowed Alicia to disgrace Yolanda,” he answered calmly. “How can I let that insult pass? Do not interfere with me on this, Regina.”

That went without saying, as Regina had no way of controlling him, anyway.

Yolanda recuperated in the hospital for the next few days. It seemed like things had finally settled down-until Corey’s company ran into yet another trouble.

The chip Alicia had repaired malfunctioned again. This time, it automatically played a vulgar adult film.

It went viral in no time, bringing a storm of public outrage to Corey’s doorstep.

He sat in his office now, glowering with rage.

A group of people stood before him, none of whom dared to utter a word. After a long silence, Corey’s voice rang out. “Who is behind this?”

The secretary leaned in, whispering, “We looked into it. This video was scheduled for release at a specific time. Only Ms. Bennett had the chance to make that happen.”

Corey’s fists clenched so tightly that it felt as though they might shatter. No wonder…

No wonder she had agreed to help him so readily without asking for anything in return. So, this was the reason!

Corey had trusted her completely, without a hint of doubt. Now, after this debacle, his clients were beyond appeasement.

He could forget about ever using this chip again.

Moreover, his finances and reputation had taken a severe hit.

Corey stared at the still-playing adult film and smashed the screen in a fit of rage.
