Filed to story: When His Wife Can’t Forgive
Suddenly, Caden broke the silence, asking, “Did you take a good look at the picture I sent you earlier today?”
Alicia’s tone remained cool as she replied, “I did.”
“Did you notice anything in particular?” he asked, his voice probing.
Of course, Alicia had noticed quite a bit.
Caden had placed the file on the table, with his computer screen positioned right in front of him. The reflection on the screen clearly showcased his well-defined abs. It was painfully obvious. The abs dominated nearly two-thirds of the photograph, making it impossible for anyone, even those with poor eyesight, to miss.
To be honest, Caden’s actions left Alicia momentarily stunned.
Alicia pursed her lips and, with a raised eyebrow, asked pointedly, “I’m more curious about why you’re shirtless in the office. Is this some sort of perk for your female employees?”
Caden sat up straight, his demeanor composed and unyielding, with no hint of scheming. “It became rather warm, so I decided to take it off,” he explained casually.
Alicia’s expression clearly conveyed her skepticism, as if silently asking, Do you honestly think I believe that?
Caden smoothly shifted the focus back to their conversation, leaning forward slightly. “Do you find it appealing?”
Alicia rested her chin on her hand and replied, “In comparison to others, it’s certainly a sight for sore eyes, but since I’ve touched it enough, seeing it in a photograph feels rather underwhelming.”
Caden smiled, clearly amused by her response. She had managed to express both positive and negative sentiments in one go.
“How many months has it been since you last touched it?” Caden leaned in slightly, his voice lowering with intrigue. “Do you miss it?”
Faced with such a provocative question, Alicia decisively interrupted, saying, “The food’s coming, just shut up.”
Caden’s smile was knowing and self-assured. He dedicated himself to his workouts, maintaining an impressive physique with each muscle perfectly defined-both powerful and pleasing to the touch.
Alicia often found herself overwhelmed by desire, her body pressing against him until both were consumed by the heat.
Caden had remained abstinent for months, and any mention or thought of Alicia effortlessly sparked a fire within him.
Caden didn’t just want a simple dinner with Alicia.
But after waiting this long, he wasn’t about to ruin it by rushing things. So, he remained calm throughout the entire meal.
Alicia was a bit on edge at first, but as Caden finally grabbed his car keys, hinting that he was about to leave, she began to relax.
As they stepped out of the restaurant, Caden suddenly took her hand, rubbing her palm gently.
“It’s been a while since we last met. Want to walk me out?” he asked softly.
Alicia tried to pull her hand back, but he held on just a little tighter.
She sighed and asked, “Do I even get a say in this?”
Caden leaned in with a grin. “And what about a kiss? You can’t say no to that, right?”
Alicia smirked back. “Funny, I just learned how to castrate someone. Want to give it a try?”
He didn’t doubt her for a second. He knew her kicks were sharp enough to knock anyone flat.
Caden held her hand firmly as they headed to the car. When Alicia realized he was actually about to leave, she felt a wave of relief.
Noticing the look on her face, Caden asked, “Are you working late tonight?”
Hoping to speed things up, Alicia answered calmly, “No.”
“Is Blake at the same hotel as you?”
“Yeah.”
“Is your room close to his?”
Caden leaned in, his voice soft as he continued, “Just be honest with me, and I’ll let you go back sooner.”
Alicia suddenly went quiet.
Her heart tightened again, just as she had started to relax. She had a feeling Caden wouldn’t let her off that easily.
“No, we’re two floors apart,” she said calmly.
Caden teased, “Aren’t you counting on him to protect you? If something happens, do you really think he can make it in time from two floors away?”
Alicia shrugged. “Oh, then I’ll just switch to the room next to his tonight.”
Caden’s smile faded.
His gaze softened as he looked at her. “Are you still upset after all this time?”
Alicia tried to turn away. “I need to go.”
But Caden pulled her close, their chests nearly touching. When she glanced up, his warm breath brushed against her cheek.
There was a spark in his eyes.
Caden’s voice was low and rough. “Stop teasing me, okay?”
Alicia’s eyelashes fluttered, and her chest felt tight, like it was being gently squeezed. She felt weak and exposed.
Caden’s dry lips brushed against her cheek, slowly making their way to her lips, but Alicia turned her face away.
Caden took a deep breath, gently rubbing her back and waist.
His voice was filled with longing and softness. “Can you just stop being angry?”
Alicia could sense that he was holding back.
A man who was used to getting his way didn’t know how to treat a woman.
After months of holding it all in, this was all he had left.
Alicia couldn’t find the words. Tears started to fill her eyes as she lowered her head, trying to hide what she felt.
Caden tried to coax her. “Hey, Lucky, look at me.”
Alicia whispered, “Caden, do you really understand what you did?”
Caden was quiet for a moment before answering, “Yeah.”
“Are you really sorry?”
Having gone through this before, Caden was more sure of himself and said, “Absolutely.”
Alicia finally asked what had been on her mind. “Are you just after my body?”
Caden shook his head. “No.”
“Seriously?”
“Yeah, trust me.”
Alicia sharply glanced up at him. “You sound so sincere, but you’re kind of pressed up against me.”
Caden was taken aback.
Wait, what?
What did she just say?
Alicia pushed against his chest and looked down.
Caden realized his body had totally betrayed him. He took a deep breath, trying to defend himself. “I was already like this at dinner.”
Alicia smirked. “You could’ve just kept quiet.”
Caden sighed. “It’s completely normal to have desires, especially since I’ve just started exploring them. Now that I’ve had a taste, being this close but still untouchable is driving me insane.”
Alicia pressed her lips together.
“Have you forgotten your answer just now? You even asked me to trust you.”
Caden replied with a smirk, “I mean it. It’s not just about your body.”
Of course, Alicia didn’t believe him, and honestly, she was right not to.
As soon as Caden finished speaking, he leaned in and kissed her before she could even think about refusing.
Alicia had never been let down by his kissing skills. After being apart for so long, he was eager but still knew how to work his magic, kissing her in a way that made her feel everything. He kept teasing and toying with her. People came and went, and a few curious eyes drifted their way, but Caden didn’t care.
He only pulled back when he had stolen the last bit of air from her lips.
Alicia seized the moment to shove him away, her face burning with sudden anger and embarrassment.
“Did you forget about our bet?” she whispered fiercely. “You… you lost.”
Caden licked his lips, still wanting more. “Win or lose, being this close but still untouchable is driving me wild.”
Alicia’s anger flared, and she shot him a glare before turning to leave.
Caden just leaned against the car, calmly smoking a cigarette while glancing at her back.
