Filed to story: When His Wife Can’t Forgive

Caught off guard, Alicia was slow to react. By the time she tried to resist, Caden’s kiss deepened invasively.

Her heart racing, she reached out to strike him, but Caden was quicker. He seized her hand, pinning it, and pulled her closer, encircling her waist and securing her neck.

Hank watched, astonished by the scene. His eyes widened in disbelief.

Monica, equally stunned, stepped back and began recording the event on her phone.

Internally conflicted, Monica thought she should intervene and confront Caden for taking advantage of Alicia. Yet, her body froze, unable to act.

Caden was undeniably skilled at kissing, making the entire experience undeniably thrilling.

Once the kiss ended, Caden gently caressed Alicia’s lips, clearly desiring more. He chuckled lightly. “Thanks for playing along. And sorry for any trouble.”

Alicia was left reeling, her lips tingling and her head spinning, unable to find her voice.

Caden then returned inside, casually suggesting, “Let’s continue drinking.”

Alicia, still in shock, stared at the substantial amount of cash in her hand.

“Thanks for playing along? Sorry for the trouble?” She wondered if he even recognized her.

Gerry had assumed Caden would back out, so he hadn’t watched. Noticing Caden’s noticeably reddened lips, he exclaimed in surprise, “You actually kissed someone? Who?”

Feeling buoyant, Caden poured himself another drink. “You missed it?”

Gerry smacked his forehead, frustrated. “Damn! I missed it! Who was it? Tell me!”

Caden let out a laugh. “You always miss the best parts,” he teased.

Gerry was left dumbfounded, curious to know more. But with Caden remaining silent, no one else dared to ask.

Gerry decided to step outside to investigate further. However, he quickly returned, visibly agitated.

“Cliff’s here!” he whispered urgently. “Quick! Find me somewhere to hide!”

Caden acted quickly, guiding Gerry to hide under the table.

Just then, a man with a stern demeanor entered. He resembled Gerry but appeared much more formidable.

Caden greeted him with a smile. “Mr. Hopkins.”

Gerry’s brother, Cliff Hopkins, approached with a stern look, demanding, “Mr. Ward, where’s Gerry?”

Caden abruptly kicked the table, revealing Gerry’s hiding spot in an instant.

“Right there,” he declared.

Gerry was left dumbfounded. He had not anticipated Caden’s betrayal. After pausing to gather his thoughts, he reluctantly emerged. Yet, his emergence did little to soften Cliff’s approach.

Typically bold and fearless, Gerry found himself unusually intimidated by Cliff, who had recently returned from military service.

Straightening up, Gerry retorted, “I was just having a drink. What’s it to you?”

Cliff’s voice, deep and authoritative, boomed. “Will you leave voluntarily, or must I force you out?”

Gerry attempted to maintain his dignity. “I’m nearly finished here. I know when it’s time to leave.”

Without hesitation, Cliff seized him by the ear and pulled him out.

“Hey! That hurts!” Gerry faltered, pleading as he was dragged. “Cliff, it hurts! Stop, Cliff!”

Meanwhile, the secrecy surrounding Alicia’s situation with Caden had become impossible to maintain. She finally revealed everything to Monica.

Monica was taken aback.

“I’ve considered many scenarios, even suspected Gerry once, but never Caden. Is he treating you well?” Alicia simply nodded in affirmation.

“He’s an excellent collaborator.”

“Just a business partner?” Monica pressed, recalling the recent expression of shyness and joy on Alicia’s face-emotions she had never witnessed in her before. “Don’t you have feelings for him?”

Alicia wasn’t sure how to respond to Monica’s question. She hesitated for a moment before shaking her head.

Monica wasn’t convinced, but Alicia knew she needed to be careful, especially after the recent issues with Joshua.

After dinner at Monica’s, Alicia left. She picked up Cade from the pet store and returned to Caden’s apartment.

The place was empty. Alicia didn’t ask about Caden’s whereabouts. She fed Cade, arranged his sleeping area, and then went to the study to get some work done.

The incident at the art exhibition sparked a flurry of online debates, but the topic quickly faded. It was likely suppressed by the Green family. Jerald probably had a hand in it, not wanting Joshua’s actions to tarnish their family’s reputation.

After such an event, both families would step in to help Joshua. Alicia felt a brief moment of anxiety. But then, she recalled Caden’s assurance that he would handle everything. Her tension eased, and she let out a sigh.

She carefully prepared for her class the next day. She had a lesson to teach tomorrow and planned to go to bed early. However, the bed felt oddly empty with Caden gone for the night.

So, she moved to the sofa with her blanket. Cade cuddled next to her.

As she was drifting off, Alicia heard a faint whisper. Reaching out to pet Cade, she instead touched something cold. What was that?

Alicia opened her eyes, puzzled, only to see a dark figure looming over her.

A familiar scent surrounded her immediately. He expertly parted her lips, seducing her as their tongues danced together.

Alicia was now fully alert. She pushed Caden’s head back, her breath quick as she stared at him in disbelief.

Noticing her puzzled expression, Caden asked in a raspy voice, “What’s wrong? Don’t you recognize me?”

Alicia stammered, “I thought… I was dreaming. I thought Cade had turned into a human.”

Caden was momentarily speechless.

He gently rolled her over, positioning her so that she was now lying on top of him.

“Is that why you reacted so passionately?” Caden slid his hand under her pajamas, his smirk evident. “Quite the pervert, Ms. Bennett.”

Alicia was taken aback. His touch was cold, and she instinctively pulled away, scolding him, “You kissed me while I was asleep! You’re the pervert.”

Caden kissed her again, this time briefly, before beginning to pull down her pajama pants.

Alicia tried to wriggle free.

Caden secured her legs firmly. “Resisting? Have you forgotten the two favors you owe me?”

Alicia stopped resisting. In the heat of the moment, she murmured, “Didn’t you recognize me during the Truth or Dare game today?”

Caden was charmed by her watery eyes and flushed face. That was exactly why he had wanted to tease her. “How did you know I was playing Truth or Dare?”

Alicia was stunned. Just as I suspected!

Caden inched closer slowly. “I remember kissing a stranger. I was too tipsy to see clearly, but I recall how soft her lips were, and her breath was sweet.” He kissed her once more.

After a moment, he paused and said, “Quite similar to yours.”

Noticing the playful glint in his eyes, Alicia realized she had been tricked.

She playfully punched him, but she couldn’t stop herself from laughing.

Caden teased her further by pinching her waist. “Have you improved your kissing skills since our last lesson?”

Alicia tried to resist, but his playful touch only made her laugh harder.

Caden encouraged her with a grin, “Go on. Spell out a word with your tongue in my mouth.”

Alicia, momentarily at a loss for words, thought he was being ridiculous. Yet, she complied, tilting her head with effort as she traced three letters inside his mouth.

Her eyes sparkled with allure and a touch of playfulness.

“What did I spell out?”

Caden swallowed. “Dad.”

Alicia was stunned.

Caden smirked and said, “I thought you weren’t a fan of role-playing. Seems like you prefer it subtle.”

Alicia’s face turned red. “I wrote ‘dog’! Dog! Not ‘dad’!”

Caden raised an eyebrow. “Really? You can’t tell the difference between ‘dog’ and ‘dad’? How did you ever graduate?”

Alicia was left speechless.

They made love twice, leaving Alicia utterly exhausted. Afterwards, she lay spent in Caden’s embrace, too tired to move.

Despite her fatigue, her mind remained alert. “What’s happening with Joshua now?”

Caden’s voice remained deep and seductive. “He’s finished.”

Alicia replied calmly, “Then I guess our deal is over.”

Caden responded leisurely, “The task is complete, but the contract lasts for a year.”

Alicia was taken aback. “How can you use that as a loophole? Joshua was our goal! I only estimated it would take a year!”
