Cameron shook her head. “Nope.”

Gavin had no words.

Their dad jumped in, doting as ever. “Sweetheart, are you serious? Do you really want 300 trillion dollars?”

Cameron quickly waved her hands. “Dad, I was just joking.”

But Levi was already thinking out loud. “If you really want it, I can have someone audit our assets in the next few days and see how close we are…”

“Dad,” Cameron quickly interrupted, “I was just saying whatever popped into my head. I don’t even know how many zeroes are in 300 trillion dollars. Don’t take it so seriously.”

Jacqueline laughed. “Cam, even if you wanted the stars in the sky, your dad would try to get them for you too.”

“Thank you, Mom and Dad.” Cameron felt all warm inside. She admitted honestly, “Honestly, I just wanted to mess with Gavin.”

Hearing that, Lance burst into laughter, but Gavin didn’t say anything.

For a split second, Gavin’s face was impossible to read. But the next moment, a smile returned to his handsome face. “Cam, I’m good as long as you’re happy.”

Cameron was rendered speechless.

Lance smirked. “See? If you’d been this nice from the start, you wouldn’t be stuck trying to win her over now.”

“Lance.” Gavin shot him a sharp look, his face turning grim as he thought, ‘Did he forget I’m his older brother? This kid’s really getting bolder by the day.

Lance grinned. “Careful, Gavin. If you act so fiercely, you’ll scare Cam.”

Gavin paused. A moment later, he toned it down and turned to Cameron with a bright smile. “Cam, don’t listen to Logan’s nonsense. I’m actually super gentle.”

Cameron said nothing, quietly focusing on her breakfast like she hadn’t heard a word.

Gavin, too, said nothing after that.

After breakfast, Levi and Jacqueline decided to take her out for a day to buy her some clothes, show her around the island, and help her get familiar with everything.

Of course, Lance tagged along too. And of course, Gavin followed too, lingering behind and keeping his eyes on Cameron the entire time.

“Gavin.” Helen came running over from a distance.

Gavin glanced at her, far less enthusiastic than usual. He gave her a nod. “Helly.”

“Last night you said you have a sister now, so where is she? What do you mean by ‘real sister’ anyway?” Helen asked curiously.

Last night, Gavin called everyone in his contacts, including Helen. All he said was he had a sister now.

When she asked for details, he simply said, “I have a real sister.” He didn’t entertain any other questions she asked and just hung up before dialing the next person.

Helen tried calling him back, but his line was always busy. He never replied to her messages either. So this morning, she came straight over to get answers in person.

“Morning Cam,” Helen called out cheerfully when she spotted Cameron.

Cameron smiled back. “Good morning.”

Helen turned to Gavin. “Gavin, where’s your little sister that you mentioned?”

“Right here.” Lance patted Cameron on the head.

Helen looked at Cameron, confused. “Cam?”

Jacqueline chuckled. “Helly, Cam’s a girl.”

Helen stared at Cameron, completely stunned by the fact that Cameron was a girl.

Helen couldn’t believe that this ridiculously good-looking kid who looked like she had stepped out of a movie was actually a girl,

As soon as she got over the shock, Helen grabbed Cameron’s hand, grinning from ear to ear. “No way! Cam, you’re actually a girl? This is awesome. I finally have a little sister.”

Helen had always been the only girl in her generation, and there was always a bit of distance between her and the boys.

So, Helen had dreamed of having a female cousin for years, older or younger, but no one in the Yates family had made her dream come true.

She never imagined Cameron, whom she thought was another male cousin of hers, would turn out to be a girl all along. This piece of news sent Helen over the moon.

Cameron smiled softly. “I’m happy to have an older sister too.”

Helen’s grin grew even wider. “Now I can finally go shopping with my little sis.”

Cameron froze. She wasn’t really into shopping.

Jacqueline said, “Helly, we’re about to help Cam pick out some clothes. Want to come help us with that?”

“Of course,” Helen agreed right away.

Gavin had no words. First, it was his Mom, his Dad, and Lance competing for Cameron’s attention, and now, even Helen had joined the mix.

If Gavin had known things would spiral like this, he would’ve kept his mouth shut last night instead of proudly announcing to everyone that he had a little sister.

The group made a beeline for the women’s section of the mall. Of course, the entire shopping center-like everything else on the island-was owned by the Yates family.

“Good morning, Mr. Levi.”

“Good morning, Mrs. Jacqueline.”

“Good morning, Mr. Gavin.”

Good morning, Mr. Logan.”

“Good morning, Ms. Helen.”

As they walked, employees greeted them one after another.

While the Yates family kept a low profile on the outside, so much so that not many people knew about them, in this place, everyone knew exactly who they were.

The locals owed their livelihoods to the Yates family, who had provided them with jobs to support their lives.

And with every encounter, Levi and Jacqueline proudly introduced Cameron, “This is our daughter, Cameron.”

The people would freeze for a second, surprised by Cameron’s boyish look, but quickly recover and greet her respectfully, “Good morning, Ms. Cameron.”

Each time Cameron received a greeting, the other members of the Yates family looked proud.

“Wow, this dress is so pretty. Cam, do you want to try it on?” Helen spotted a white slip dress on display. It had a clean silhouette and delicate rhinestones tracing the neckline. The dress was elegant, simple, and quietly stunning.

When Helen first met Cameron, her first impression was that Cameron had a clean, pure vibe about her.

Her gut told her this dress would look amazing on Cameron.

Lance blurted out, “Isn’t that a bit too girly? It doesn’t really suit Cam, does it?”

Levi shot him a look. “Are you saying my precious daughter isn’t girly enough?”

Lance immediately backpedaled. “Dad, I didn’t mean it like that. Don’t overthink it.”

Levi snorted. “Even if you did, I doubt you’d have the guts to say it out loud.”

Lance was rendered speechless.

Gavin glanced at the dress, then at Cameron. He couldn’t help but imagine what she’d look like in it and was looking forward to seeing it.

There was something Ke wanted to say, but he held back. Since Cameron didn’t like him right now, whatever he said would just make things worse for him. So, he definitely had to keep it to himself.

Jacqueline asked gently, “Cam, do you like it? Do you want to try it on?”

Helen chimed in, “Go try it, Cam. You’ll look amazing.”

Cameron smiled. “Alright, I’ll give it a try.”

Cameron took the dress and headed into the fitting room while Jacqueline and Helen happily combed through the racks.

“This one’s stunning. Cam would totally rock it.”

“And this one’s really cute too. I bet Cam would look amazing in it.”

“Oh, this one’s pretty as well.”
