“Then why return?” Cameron asked. With that wealth, Austin could’ve severed ties with the Fraser family permanently.
Austin’s smile faded. “Those years under the Fraser family’s roof were hell, Cam. Every day was terrifying. I wouldn’t just forget it all.” His knuckles whitened.
Cameron nodded. “So you’re coming back for revenge. Why drag me into it?”
Austin was caught off guard by her question. Actually, he had an answer.
He had his reasons. He needed Cameron to witness his changes, to see the power he now wielded. But those words lodged in his throat, unspeakable.
Cameron didn’t press for an answer. She was already here, and the Fraser family held no power over her
After a brief silence, Austin smoothly changed the subject. “Cam, I’ve traveled all over Yazven these past weeks. After tomorrow’s graduation ceremony, would you go to Yazven with me?” His eyes were full of expectations.
He thought, ‘If Cam agreed, I would never come back again.’
Cameron frowned, “Why would I?”
In Austin’s mind, acceptance meant freedom-no more menial jobs, and every desire fulfilled.
“I’m loaded now,” Austin offered. “If you need anything, I can provide.”
Cameron stared at him. “Why would I take your money? Besides, I don’t need it right now.”
Although she owed Bradley millions of dollars, the debts were hers alone to settle. She wasn’t going to take what wasn’t hers. Bradley had helped her so much, and she intended to pay him back.
Austin hadn’t expected such a straightforward rejection from Cameron. But he soon accepted it. un
He thought, ‘Cameron has his pride. He won’t accept my money anyway. Fine then. I’ll stay in Viremont. He’s the closest person to me now. Wherever he is, that is home.’
The motorcade rolled to a stop at Fraser Villa’s gate.
A guard emerged. Seeing the motorcade, he murmured, “Mr. Samuel Fraser is back?” Only Samuel flaunted wealth so brazenly.
But when the guard saw Austin getting out of the car, his jaw dropped. “Mr. Austin Fraser!”
Austin’s prolonged absence had always convinced the Fraser family that he was dead. Edmund was furious, but he had never sent people to look for him. In Edmund’s view, there was no need to waste resources on a bastard.
Yet here Austin stood, flanked by luxury cars and bodyguards.
Cameron followed Austin and got out of the car.
Austin studied the manor that had housed his nightmares and torment. He thought, ‘This place, shouldn’t exist. Its obliteration might finally purge my painful memories.”
“Well, well,” the guard sneered. “Look who crawled back. Mr. Austin Fraser, do you know how angry Mr. Edmund Fraser has been during your absence? You actually got the nerve to show your face.”
The guard sneered at Austin as always.
Austin’s handsome face darkened instantly. Before he could even speak, Vincent stepped forward and subdued the guard in one swift move.
Austin’s tone was icy. “You’re just a watchdog, yet you thought you could step all over me? Know your place.”
“Mmph-” The guard’s mouth was muffled, his protests silenced.
Austin turned back. “Cam, let’s go.”
Cameron nodded. She understood. Austin had returned for vengeance, and she was here to witness it. After all, she had seen him at his lowest. Now, in his moment of triumph, he wanted her present. It was a natural desire.
With Cameron at his side and an entourage of bodyguards in tow, Austin strode into Fraser Villa,
A servant scrambled to alert Jeremy.
Meanwhile, the Fraser family members were gathered for dinner. Edmund, Jeremy, Margot, and Samuel were all there.
A flustered servant rushed in. Edmund’s face darkened. “What’s the matter?”
Panting, the servant pointed outside. “Mr-Mr. Austin Fraser… is back.”
The servant looked stunned. Jeremy frowned, “Austin? Is he crippled or something?”
Margot’s lips curled faintly at the news.
Samuel outright laughed, “Austin’s back? Oh, he’s not dead yet.”
The servant stammered, “H-he brought… many people.”
Edmund and the others were puzzled. His brows furrowed. “What do you mean? Brought many people?”
Before the servant could respond, the sound of footsteps echoed from outside.
“Go check it out,” Edmund said coldly as he stood up.
The others followed suit, filing into the hall just as Austin’s procession reached the courtyard.
Their gazes flickered over Austin for mere seconds before locking onto the robust bodyguards flanking him.
Jeremy was the first to break the silence. “You finally crawled back. Where the hell have you been?” His tone dripped with the same contempt he had always reserved for Austin, the living stain on his life.
Margot immediately played peacemaker. “Darling, don’t be so harsh. Aus, we’re just glad you’re home. We were about to dine. You and your… friends must join us.”
Edmund’s cane struck the marble floor with a crack. “Explain this, Austin. What is the meaning of bringing them here?”
Samuel snorted, “Isn’t it obvious, Grandpa? The bastard is here to make trouble. He can’t even show basic respect anymore.”
Austin’s expression remained glacial as he locked eyes with Samuel. “I’ve tolerated you long enough.”
Samuel burst into laughter, completely unbothered by the presence of elders. “Oh, the coward finally grows a spine? Go on then-try hitting me!
Decades of unchecked arrogance had taught him the truth. No matter how far he pushed, the family would always turn a blind eye.
“Vincent.” Austin glanced at the man beside him.
Vincent understood immediately and raised a hand.
With a subtle lift of Vincent’s hand, ten well-trained bodyguards surged forward, seizing Samuel and dragging him before Austin,
“Samuel!” Margot lunged to intervene, only to be shoved aside by a guard.
“Kneel,” Vincent commanded, delivering a sharp kick to the back of Samuel’s knees.
“Fuck you!” Samuel thrashed, but the two guards restraining him left no room for resistance. The brutat force sent him crashing to his knees, right in front of Austin.
Samuel froze for a moment. He couldn’t believe that he was kneeling in front of the very person he had always mocked and abused.
His face twisted with fury, his skin flushing crimson with humiliation. Every muscle strained against the guards, but alt he could muster were venomous threats and a glare sharp enough to kill.
“How dare you, Austin!” Samuel roared.
“He’s too loud,” Austin remarked coolly.
“Shut up.” Vincent didn’t hesitate. He slapped Samuel’s face hard.
Austin hated Samuel. And today, after everything, it was finally time for payback.
“You-” Samuel’s shock morphed into unbridled rage. But Vincent slapped him again before he could even growl.
This strike split Samuel’s lip, blood trickling down his chin. His eyes burned with unadulterated hatred.
Margot shrieked, “Security! Where the hell is security?”
Austin smiled, “Save your breath. Those useless guards of yours? They are already handled.”
The Fraser family’s guards had already been subdued by Austin’s men, who were all former mercenaries, each capable of taking on ten men. They had made quick work of these guards.
Edmund’s cane struck the floor. “Austin, have you lost your mind? Release your brother!”
“My brother? I don’t remember having a brother.” Austin scoffed. Suddenly, he lifted his foot. His polished leather shoe pressed against Samuel’s face, grinding his cheek into the marble. “Oh, you mean this? Does a pathetic worm like him deserve that title?”
Samuel trembled with barely contained fury, his voice a guttural roar. “Austin, you fucking kill me then! One of us dies today!” This humiliation cut deeper than death itself.
Austin ground his polished shoe harder against Samuel’s cheek. “Kill you? Do you really think you’re worth me risking a murder charge, idiot?”
“Just fucking do it!” Samuel spat.
Austin sneered. He lifted his foot, deliberately wiping the sole against the floor as if scrubbing off filth. Then he looked at Vincent. “Vincent, shut him up.”
“Yes, sir,” Vincent replied respectfully.
“Are you insane, Austin?” Jeremy shouted, completely stunned by this scene. He lunged forward, only to be blocked by a tall guard. His impotent rage erupted in roars.
