Bradley showed her his phone. “The firm’s been calling nonstop.” They knew he was back.

Cameron realized Brad was probably swamped. But he had insisted on reviewing all the files first, just to make sure she wasn’t getting ripped off.

For a moment, she was at a loss for words. Without meaning to, she’d racked up another favor with Bradley.

“Take care on your way out, Mr. Saunders,” David said as they parted. ‘Bradley clearly treats Mr. Wallace differently,’ he thought.

Bradley gave a small nod. Cameron walked him down to the ground floor.

“Get back to work,” Bradley said.

“Thanks, Brad. Seriously,” Cameron said sincerely.

Since she got a second chance at life, Bradley had been the first person to show her kindness. Since then, she’d lost count of how many favors she owed him.

Money was one thing-she could pay that back-but how did you repay someone for kindness? All she could do was keep saying thank you.

He chuckled, “I think you should be the poster child for ‘thank you!”

With that, he opened the car door, slid into the driver’s seat, and buckled his seatbelt.

“Drive carefully,” Cameron said, taking a step back.

He nodded. She watched the car pull away and let out a deep sigh.

For three consecutive days, Bradley drove her to work every morning. In the afternoons, when he couldn’t get away, she took a taxi home

One evening, munching on potato chips on the couch, she suddenly thought of Elijah. She hadn’t heard from him in days.

Wondering if he was doing okay, she picked up her phone and sent a message: [Elijah, how’s it going? Are you alright?)

When Elijah received the message, he’d just left a famous psychologist’s office.

Standing on the street, gazing at the neon-lit streets, he couldn’t get the psychologist’s words out of his head.

For three days, he’d shut himself in his room, practically going crazy.

It was Jack who’d realized how bad he was and forced him to see a therapist.

Stepping out of the office, he did feel a lot better.

**

The psychologist said all feelings had a reason for existing and told Elijah to slowly embrace his true self.

He shouldn’t deliberately highlight how he was different from others there was no real difference, just different choices.

Elijah wasn’t completely enlighten he did feel much better.

His phone vibrated in his pocket. He too it out and saw a message from Cameron. She was checking on him, but he knew her concern was only friendly

Elijah gripped his phone, his fingers tensing His feelings were his own, a bury his feelings deep in his heart, telling no one, especially her.

He didn’t reply right away. Just then, Jack pulled the car up in front of him. n, and so was his crush. He couldn’t let them bother Cameron. He decided to

Once inside the car, Elijah took out his phone to respond. Neon lights from the street filtered through the window, casting patchy shadows across his handsome face.

Elijah: [I’m okay, doing good. How about you?]

Cameron: [I’m good too. Will you still come in for your part-time shift? If not, I can settle your pay from that day.]

Elijah stared at her message for a moment, wondering, ‘Should I go?’ These past few days, he couldn’t stop thinking about her.

He kept replaying every detail of their three months together. He didn’t even know when these feelings had started.

He longed to see her. Just being able to see her would be enough. He didn’t dare hope for more.

After a while, he replied: [I’m free these days. I’ll come in. See you tomorrow.]

Cameron: [Uh, tomorrow’s the weekend. We don’t need to go to work.]

Elijah: [Are you still living at Noble Vista?]

Cameron: [Yeah, Brad’s back and he’s staying here too.]

Elijah: [I’ll stay over tomorrow. I haven’t seen Brad in ages.]

Cameron: [He’s pretty busy tomorrow.]

Of course, Elijah didn’t care whether Bradley was busy or not. All he wanted was to see Cameron every day.

Elijah: [I’ll just stay over first. See you tomorrow.]

Cameron: [See you.]

Elijah held his phone, scrolling through his chat history with Cameron again and again, smiling.

Jack watched via the rearview mirror as Elijah suddenly smiled, unsure how to put his own feelings into words.

These past few days, Elijah had been so depressed-locking himself in his bedroom, refusing to eat or drink, Jack had been extremely worried.

‘Mr. Moore’s smiling. Has he finally made peace with things?’ Jack wondered. He didn’t dare speak up. The other d his careless remark had made Elijah miserable.

He drove in silence, thinking maybe he should ask Elijah’s friend Cameron-a peer-to talk to him. After all, people of the same age often find it easier to communicate about certain things.

So, when they got back to Moore Manor and saw Elijah heading upstairs, Jack quickly found Cameron’s number and gave him a call..

“Hello? Who’s this?” Cameron had just showered and was about to go to bed. Seeing it was a local number, she answered.

“Hi, Mr. Wallace. Sorry to disturb you so late. I’m your classmate Elijah’s butler,” Jack said, introducing himself.

Cameron hadn’t expected a call from Elijah’s butler. “Hi,” she asked curiously. “Is there something you need from me?”

“Mr. Wallace, I know it’s bold of me to bring t said, his voice thick with worry for Elijah. this up, but Mr. Moore only has you as a close friend. I think you’re the only one who can reach him. Jack

Cameron didn’t commit right away, just asked, “What’s this about exactly?”

Jack covered the phone receiver and glanced arou his room, even though he was alone.

He said, “Mr. Wallace, Mr. Moore has a crush on someone, but it’s causing him pain. I took him to a psychologist today, and he seems a bit better, but I’m still concerned.”

Cameron was stunned. Elijah had a romantic interest? She hadn’t known that. Wasn’t he always buried in his studies? When did he find time for a secret crush?

After a moment of silence, she asked, “So how can I help Elijah?”

Jack said, “Mr. Wallace, you and Mr. Moore are friends. He even offered you a ride home-something he’s never done for anyone before. Your connection must be special.

“I was hoping you could talk to him. If he likes someone, he should take a chance. Even if it doesn’t work out, he won’t regret trying in the future.”

Cameron understood now. Jack asked her to talk to Elijah. That was manageable. “I just messaged Elijah. He’s moving to Noble Vista tomorrow. I’ll talk to him then.”

Jack sounded relieved. “Thank you, Mr. Wallace. I really appreciate it.”

“No problem,” Cameron said. After a few more exchanges, she ended the call.

While the news surprised her, Cameron wasn’t entirely thrown off that Elijah had a crush. At their age, having romantic feelings was perfectly normal.

At Murphy Manor, the game prompt blared. “You have been slain!”

“Ugh, this is so frustrating!” Xander chucked his phone aside, flopped onto the couch, and stared at the ceiling.

“Xan, what’s going on? You’re not in the zone today,” Tyrell’s concerned voice came through the phone.

“This stupid game-where’s the fun in it?” Xander snapped irritably.

Tyrell was at a loss for words. He thought, ‘Not fun? We’ve been duo queuing for days.’

Every time Tyrell tried to stop, Xander dragged him back in, and refusing meant getting chewed out.

However, his family knew he was gaming with Xander and had practically ordered him to keep Xander entertained no matter what.

Xander scowled. “So annoying. I’m done playing.”

“Xan, don’t! If you AFK, you’ll lose honor points. Is something bothering you? Talk to me.”

“You?” Xander scoffed. But suddenly, he shot a look at his phone.

Sitting up straight, he said into the mic, “Tyrell, can you help me set up a meeting with Cameron?” He’d been aski Cameron out too much lately, worried she’d get sick of it. If Tyrell did the inviting, he could just “accidentally run into her.”
