Suddenly, she felt a cold touch on her face. It turned out that Jarrod grabbed an ice cold drink from the car cooler and put it on her cheek to reduce the swelling.

The cold bottle rolled against Nicole’s face, and Jarrod’s movements were meticulous and gentle. It was totally unlike his usual madness.

Nicole reached out and tried to grab the bottle. However, Jarrod held her hand.

He stared at her with piercing eyes. “Did you hear what I said the other night?”

Nicole fidgeted for a moment. She shook her head and played dumb.

“What did you say?

Jarrod stared at her, pressed the back of her hand with his thumb, and sneered, “Are you sure you want to play dumb with me?”

That night, Jarrod told Nicole in bed that he would punish those two women who attacked her at the detention center. He also told her something that stunned her.

He said, “Nicole, let’s live like this for the rest of our lives.”

Nicole lay awake all night, wondering exactly what Jarrod’s words meant. Why did he say those words to her?

To her, Jarrod was like a nightmare. His role in her life was a demon, and he had portrayed it to her so vividly.

He was driving her crazy and pushing her into endless hell with his bare hands.

He watched her coldly struggle through those ordeals.

Nicole’s only dream now was to escape Jarrod. She wanted to live a quiet and happy life with her parents.

So when she heard that Jarrod was getting married, she was happier than anyone. She would finally have her freedom.

But Jarrod’s words now frightened her. It was as if he was still unwilling to let her go, even after marrying another woman.

Did Jarrod want her to be his mistress for the rest of her life?

Nicole pursed her lips. She said nothing, afraid of losing control of her emotions.

Jarrod’s eyes narrowed. As Nicole remained silent, he continued, “You hate me. But do you know what the opposite of hate is?

The opposite of hate was love. The famous quote said, “Love well, spank well.” The more he hated her, the more he loved her.

“Are you kidding me, you hate me so much because you still love me?”. asked Nicole in disbelief.

Jarrod reached up, tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and said vaguely, “I want to know, too.”

Nicole’s smile froze. Her lips quivered as if she wanted to say something.

But she realized she had no words.

On the contrary, Jarrod was smiling. He was in a good mood.

But when he inadvertently touched the ring on his pinky, his expression changed.

The last time at the detention center, those two women had stomped on the back of Nicole’s hands. She had broken her pinky bone. It had healed, but the scar was still evident. Nicole feared her parents would be worried when they saw it, so she covered it with a ring.

After a while, Jarrod whispered, “Trust me. I made a promise and I won’t break it.”

His intention was to seek justice for Nicole. But his promise gave him goose bumps.

The hands on her lap tightened slightly. She dodged his playfulness and said in a somewhat sarcastic tone, “Mr. Schultz, I’m not sure I’ll still be alive by the time you deal with your future brother-in-law…”.

Before she could finish her words, Jarrod leaned over and kissed her lips.

But his cold lips did not deepen. He only kissed her lightly.

Then he looked down at her and asked with a smile, “Are you jealous?”

Nicole was too shocked to say a word.

She really wanted to smash Jarrod’s head in with a hammer to see what the hell was on his brain.

How could she take his sarcasm as jealousy? It was driving her crazy.

Nicole wiped her lips hard. It was as if she wanted to rip the skin off the part she had touched.

Jarrod’s handsome face immediately darkened.

He took her hand, pressed it to his chest and leaned into her.

This time, his kiss was a bit merciless.

His tongue opened her mouth and teeth. He gave her a hard French kiss.

He didn’t let go of her lips until she moaned in pain.

Nicole’s strength was no match for a powerful man like Jarrod.

Her struggle was nothing to him.

Her kiss was becoming more and more aggressive, and her growing desire seemed to give him a dangerous signal. She already knew what would happen next.

The more Nicole thought about it, the more nervous she got.

Jarrod must have been crazy. Jamie was in the car next to them, how could he do this to her? He wasn’t even treating her like a human being.

Suddenly, Jarrod’s phone on the seat vibrated.

Nicole breathed a sigh of relief at that distraction, especially when she saw that it was Jamie calling.

When Jarrod’s grip loosened, Nicole seized the opportunity.

She hit his wound hard with her elbow.

Jarrod hissed. His face contorted in pain.

He finally released her. Nicole quickly pushed him away and hid in a corner.

She gasped a little and looked at Jarrod with her beautiful eyes full of complaint.

“Six days left,” she said.

Jarrod looked at her with a frown. Nicole continued, “Jarrod, there are only six days left until your wedding. After that, you will no longer be able to humiliate me.”

In six days, Jarrod and Jamie would be married.

They had an agreement that after Jarrod was married, all of their contracts would be invalidated.

Jarrod said casually, “I have reasons to marry Jamie. But I definitely don’t love her.”

His words made Nicole shudder. She looked at him as if she were looking at a lunatic.

“What the hell, Jarrod, are you out of your mind?”

Nicole was puzzled-why was Jarrod saying such ambiguous words to her?

Nicole was no longer a teenager. Jarrod’s insinuations unsettled her.

His confession, far from being sweet, left her unsettled.

Just as Jarrod was about to speak again, Jamie arrived.

Getting out of the car, Jarrod and Jamie exchanged a few words by the car.

Jamie’s anger burst into tears. He glared angrily through the car window.

Nicole caught snatches of their conversation, something about an apology.

Perhaps Jamie had expected her to apologize personally.

Jarrod, aware that Nicole would not apologize to Jamie, suggested Jamie drop the idea.

Eventually, Jarrod managed to calm Jamie down and guide her back to her car.

When the police arrived, Nicole claimed that she had accidentally called the police during an argument with her boyfriend.

Officers questioned her about the incident and searched the house, but found nothing. Before leaving, one of the officers lectured Nicole.

Nicole then drove off in Alec’s car.

As Alec’s car and Jarrod’s car passed, Jarrod’s meaningful look unsettled Nicole.

At that instant, Nicole felt a shiver run through her.
