Holding onto Yale’s arm tightly while grinning widely, she showed off her charming yet mischievous smile, which shook Yale’s heart.

Beata said, “I know you dote on me the most. I like you the most.”

After finishing speaking, Beata embraced Yael’s arm, and walked to the back of the line together, muttering in her small mouth, “For the sake of being so kind to me, I will reluctantly lose half of it.”

Yael lowered his eyes, and by chance, Beata also looked at him, obviously with a pure and harmless expression, but her eyes were shining brightly.

Sure enough, in the next second, Beata said, “Well, can I eat two bites of each piece?”

Look how clever she was! There was no smarter girl than her was.

Yael was really amused by Beata.

He was usually used to having an expressionless face. Coupled with his high concentration of attention, his aura around him was particularly cold.

However, at this moment, Beata laughed, and that smile really made Beata feel dazzling.

But, before Beata had time to look at Yael’s smile carefully, she heard him say, “As long as you don’t cry when your tooth hurts.”

At this moment, Beata felt like her heart wasn’t even hers anymore. She didn’t know how to describe the feeling she had right now. It was too mystical.

Even though she knew very clearly that she and Yael were just acting, her heart still raced uncontrollably. Thump, thump, thump…

Beata even wanted to cover her mouth tightly so as not to get too excited.

But she couldn’t control it. How could she? This man was just too good at what he did.

They hadn’t rehearsed any lines together but why did everything he said pierce straight into her heart?

Luckily, Beata still had some awareness as an actress. She deliberately let out a soft hum from her nose that sounded both coquettish and annoyed before saying, “Anyway, you’ll be with me.”

After speaking, Beata shyly lowered her head and couldn’t bear to look at Yael anymore.

Therefore, she didn’t see the gaze Yael cast on her, which made all the girls present feel like they were silently squealing like prairie dogs in their hearts.

How could someone be so doting? That sickeningly sweet look in his eyes; when would it ever be their turn?

As expected of handsome guys! They really did have girlfriends!

Being their boyfriend was truly something divine for them!

Whoever said love shouldn’t be based on looks was shallow-minded because love was definitely one of those things where looks mattered most in this world.

At this moment, almost all the girls present seemed to come up with a conclusion: when looking for a boyfriend, they should always go for someone who was good-looking!

But then again they were back to square one – handsome guys already had girlfriends…

Waaahhh… When will sweet love ever come their way?

Finally it was time for Beata and Yael’s turn in line. Beata released Yael’s arm and leaned over the counter while ordering each item one by one until after eight kinds of desserts later. She suddenly stopped herself midway through ordering, realizing that half of what she wanted had already been ordered

Yael’s lips unconsciously curved upwards; he himself hadn’t realized how happy he felt about how obediently well-behaved Beata was being or how much weight there actually held behind every word spoken by such an angelic voice.

When it came time to pay, Yael asked, “Are you sure you don’t want anything else? Don’t you like chocolate?”

Beata looked up at him with a small wrinkle between her nose before saying, “But chocolate tastes best with oatmeal!”

She really had a hard time making a choice just now. The ones she ordered now were all what she wanted to eat, but the chocolate one had to be paired with oatmeal, so it occupied two shares. She felt at a loss.

So, after making this trade-off, Beata felt that only two of them could be sacrificed.

Even, she did like chocolate the most.

Yael knew in his heart that he and Beata were acting, and Beata helped him like this, so naturally he couldn’t make Beata suffer. Knowing what she liked, he asked her to sacrifice something, which was because he was too ignorant.

So, Yael said, “If you like it, I’ll buy it.”

After the words fell, Yael could clearly see that Beata’s eyes lit up.

She cried out happily, “You are so kind to me. I like you the most.”

After finishing speaking, Beata told the clerk to pack the chocolate and oatmeal, and then sneaked a glance at Yael, like a kitten who wanted to do bad things.

Yael didn’t stop it, and Beata kept ordering.

In the end, she ordered all she wanted, and she was really happy with the naked eye.

Averi had been waiting at the Harlequin Cuisine for quite some time when Beata and Yael finally arrived. She had no idea what had happened between the two of them during that time, but it was clear to her that Beata was genuinely happy. Averi couldn’t help but glance over at Yael and noticed that he too seemed very pleased.

Averi’s mind was filled with questions, but she knew she wouldn’t get any answers even if she asked.

Beata walked over and took Averi’s hand, saying, “We’ve been waiting a while; there are just too many people in line.”

There weren’t too many people actually, but it was the girls who bought something and then didn’t leave afterward that really annoyed Beata. However, thinking back on everything that happened at the dessert shop earlier made her happier than not.

Averi said, “Okay let’s go.” She was worried about traffic since they hadn’t told River they were coming and didn’t know if he’d already eaten.

Beata saw how anxious Averi looked and chuckled before saying, “Averi, do you miss my brother?”

Averi replied with a sigh as she thought to herself, “This girl never stops teasing me.”

She playfully tapped Beata on the head before warning her, “If you keep talking nonsense, I’ll have your brother deal with you.”

Beata laughed mischievously before retorting, “I’m not afraid of him!”

On their way to River’s company building, Yael drove while Beata and Averi sat in the backseat.

Although nothing about what happened at the dessert shop came up in conversation this time around, all of those details from earlier had already been reported back to River by now.

He felt conflicted as he sat in his office chair considering whether or not it was because he mentioned something to his sister beforehand which caused her to bring everything out into the open like this.

He couldn’t help feeling satisfied with Yael though; otherwise he wouldn’t have entrusted him with protecting his sister all these years.

But still… the feeling of satisfaction towards someone versus catching them were two completely different things in River’s eyes – right now Yael seemed more like a thief than anyone else!

River wanted nothing more than to call him up right then, so they could have a good talk about everything!

However, given River’s understanding of Beata, he was very clear that if he really did this, then Beata would be so angry that she would jump up and down to ask for an explanation.

He still can’t do anything to hurt Beata, even if it was just to make her unhappy.

After being depressed in the office for a long time, River received the news that Averi came over.

Of course, Beata came here together.

Thinking of Averi, River felt even more guilty.

Although what he said before was his original intention, for a woman, it would actually make the other party uncomfortable.

If Beata was the girl River didn’t want to hurt, someone who hoped to protect her when she grew up, then Averi was the one he didn’t want her to suffer any grievance.

However, it was obvious that Averi had been greatly wronged today.

The office door opened, and Averi and Beata walked in. Although Averi had been thinking about River for a long time, she couldn’t suppress the bitterness in her heart when she saw him again.

She didn’t know how to describe her feelings at the moment. It was like she was back to their previous conversation. They both knew that no one was wrong, but they still got hurt because of their different positions.

Averi didn’t know how to relieve her emotions, so she lowered her eyelashes and didn’t even look at

River.

River also felt uncomfortable inside. He stood up from behind his desk and walked over to hold Averi’s hand.

Beata watched the atmosphere between them wasn’t right. She didn’t know whether to mediate or find an excuse to leave them alone.

Just then, Beata heard River say, “Beata, you go back first. Averi and I won’t be coming home tonight.”

Beata was speechless and confused at the same time.

Was he kidding? Was he really her brother!

Didn’t he see that Averi and herself were carrying bags of food? Even if they came here just for dinner with him! Now they were not allowed to eat?

Beata glared at River angrily and said, “Hmph! As a delivery girl without triple pay, I won’t do it!”

River immediately picked up his phone and transferred three times Beata’s monthly allowance as pocket money into her account.

Beata was struck dumb.

Well… who can resist the power of money?

Immediately after receiving the transfer notification on her phone, she smiled happily towards River while winking playfully with both eyes saying, “So you guys aren’t going home tonight huh? Well then have a pleasant evening!”

After speaking, she ran away quickly like there was someone chasing after her, leaving with the desserts.

River was speechless; indeed things that could be solved by money were so simple!

Averi also felt speechless looking at River as she said, “But Beate hasn’t eaten yet.”

“Isn’t Yael here?” replied River naturally.

Averi was speechless again.

She looked at River suspiciously, and said, “What do you mean? Beata and Yael, are they really?”

“I don’t know yet, but, in the dessert shop, Beata was holding Yael’s arm.” River said.

Averi could clearly hear River gnashing his teeth when he said that.

For a moment, Averi couldn’t hold back and laughed out loud.

She said, “Look at you. I really want to feel that you are angry.”

River said, “Beata isn’t an adult yet.”
