Chapter 595 – Healing My Disabled Husband Novel by Tracy Swift

Filed to story: Healing My Disabled Husband Novel

“No way! How could someone as well-behaved as me cause trouble?”

Although there was indeed a small part of herself that had such thoughts earlier on, could she admit it?

Impossible!

Hayden Mansion.

Camdyn called everyone back today without any particular reason, except for feeling sad about Mikayla and Ash’s bird flying away which they had gifted him earlier on.

He wanted all these kids back, so he wouldn’t feel lonely anymore.

After Mikayla and Ash found out about the situation, they wanted to send their pet bird that they were currently taking care of to Camdyn.

However, Camdyn refused and insisted on only wanting his original bird back.

He had developed a real emotional attachment to it after taking care of it for so long.

When Casey and Kelvin returned home, they saw Camdyn sitting on the couch looking sad, pulling at

Flabby’s fur while sighing heavily.

Casey walked over to him and took his arm gently, saying, “Grandpa, why are you so unhappy? Let me cheer you up.”

Camdyn looked at Casey briefly before letting out another deep sigh.

“Where do you think my stupid bird could have gone? It can’t eat or sleep well outside and if it runs into something stronger than itself, it’ll just get bullied,” he said.

Casey couldn’t understand why her grandfather was so upset over a bird, but she was also at a loss as to what she could do about it.

She felt worried about her grandfather who seemed like such a child in this moment.

Suddenly feeling overwhelmed with sadness herself, Casey didn’t know what to do next. Her usually strong-willed grandfather seemed suddenly frail in her eyes.

Tears started streaming down her face as she let go of Camdyn’s arm, saying, “Grandpa, I need to use the bathroom first, then I will come back here with you.”

She quickly got up from the couch and ran towards the bathroom, leaving Kelvin behind who followed closely behind her.

Kelvin closed the door behind him once he entered, after seeing how upset Casey was earlier.

He held onto her face, gently asking, “Why are you crying all of sudden? Tell me.”

Casey sniffled before wrapping an arm around Kelvin’s waist saying, “Kelvin I just feel like grandpa is getting older too fast… but I’m not ready for that yet.”

She couldn’t shake off this feeling that something bad was going on, but she didn’t want to accept it either way.

Kelvin touched Casey’s little face and said, “Baby, this is a natural law. Don’t be so nervous, okay? With me and Aimee here, if there is anything, we will solve it in time. Don’t worry about it yourself and scare yourself, okay?”

Casey was even more aggrieved.

Even though what he said was true, she still felt very uncomfortable.

She didn’t feel anything before, but now she suddenly felt it, which made her really hard to accept.

“Baby, don’t think so much. Grandpa will worry about you too.” Kelvin said.

Casey and Kelvin came out of the bathroom. Although Casey adjusted her emotions, the expression on her face was pitiful.

Aimee came over, saw the poor little Casey, smiled, and asked, “What’s the matter? Are you being bullied?”

When Casey saw Aimee, she felt even more wronged.

She stretched out her arms to hug Aimee, and murmured, “Aimee, I’m so scared. I’m so afraid that grandpa is getting old…”

Aimee was taken aback by Casey’s words, and then understood what was wrong with her.

She was dumbfounded, but also very emotional.

Aimee said, “It’s human nature. Don’t make it difficult for yourself.”

Camdyn wasn’t young anymore, but it didn’t bother Casey that much before.

Now that Casey suddenly realized this, it was only natural that she would be so sad.

Casey sniffed and said, “Aimee, grandpa will never be like this before. I’m so scared. Aimee, grandpa won’t one day…”

Casey didn’t finish speaking, but tears fell down.

Aimee understood what she meant, and was worried that Camdyn would have some geriatric diseases, and if it was serious, he might not know anyone.

She comforted, “Hey, don’t scare yourself. After a few days, I will arrange an inspection for grandpa. If there is any problem, we will solve it properly. If there is no problem, we will avoid it in advance, okay?”

Casey hugged Aimee, nodded, and said, “Aimee, it’s good to have you here.”

Aimee stroked Casey’s back and said softly, “Okay, go and wash your face again. Grandpa will be scared by your appearance.”

Hearing this, Casey stuck out her tongue, and obediently went to wash her face again.

Kelvin said helplessly, “I don’t know what happened today. She has so many associations.”

Aimee said, “The little girl is growing up and has a lot on her mind. You should guide her more.”

“No worries. I will,” Kelvin replied.

Casey finished washing her face and Kelvin took her to distract her.

Patrick came over, hugged Aimee’s shoulder and asked, “What’s wrong with Casey?”

“A sensitive little girl who tends to overthink things. It’s nothing serious. Don’t worry,” Aimee said.

She didn’t think anything Casey worried about would happen since she had been living with Camdyn for so long that she knew his health condition very well.

If there was anything wrong, she would immediately detect it.

However, Casey reminded Aimee to take this matter seriously, because if something happened later on, it might be too late to pay attention then.

Aimee looked at Patrick and said, “I’ll arrange a physical examination for Grandpa the day after tomorrow.”

Patrick nodded and said, “I trust you.”

Arranging an exam for Camdyn was an easy task except that Casey insisted on coming along which made him look at her unfavorably, but everything else went smoothly.

Since knowing about the exam, Casey had already decided that no matter what happened, she would go with him.

Camdyn initially felt indifferent towards the examination, but once he saw how nervous Casey was, he became anxious as well as if something were really going to happen.

Casey felt wronged because all she wanted was just concern for him, but in the end, it seemed like she did something bad instead.

However, since they were already there together, even if Grandpa tried teasing or scolding her, it wouldn’t make any difference, because she refused to leave without him anyway.

Despite Camdyn complaining about having company during his check-up, he secretly enjoyed having someone accompany him.

The results of Camdyn’s check-up were good except for some minor issues, which put Casey’s mind at ease completely.

Aimee patted her head gently, saying, “Now you can relax.”

Casey hugged Aimee’s arm tightly, saying, “I’ve been too nervous lately.”

“Well, now grandpa has also gotten a checkup,” Aimee replied reassuringly.

Casey said, “Well, I don’t think I’m exaggerating too much.”

Aimee laughed. “No, you did the right thing.”

Casey immediately smiled happily.

Aimee looked at her and said, “How about we schedule a physical exam for you?”

Casey hesitated.

Although it was reasonable to have an annual physical exam, she had no interest in it whatsoever.

Some of the tests would be uncomfortable and just thinking about them made her want to refuse.

“I’ll wait a bit longer,” Casey said. “It hasn’t been a year yet.”

Aimee found this amusing. Was Casey criticizing their medical skills? But since Casey didn’t want to do it, Aimee didn’t force her.

“Okay,” Aimee said. “Just remember when the time comes, Kelvin will schedule it for you.”

Casey nodded and thought she could delay it for a while longer.

However, what Casey didn’t expect was that she actually managed to avoid her physical exam this year. Instead, some other tests came up that were worse than the physical exam itself.

After returning from the exams together with everyone else back at Hayden’s old mansion for dinner that evening, Camdyn had someone make fish soup in a clay pot, which was actually one of Casey’s favorite dishes.

But as soon as the soup was served on the table, Casey suddenly felt nauseous and jumped up from her chair before running into the bathroom where sounds of retching could be heard coming from inside.

Kelvin rushed over and began patting Casey on the back, while everyone else sat there stunned, before realizing what had happened.

Aimee got up from her seat and went upstairs. While waiting for Casey to finish vomiting, she handed over a small box to her once everything settled down again.

This was something new for Casey.

She’d never vomited like this before nor experienced any discomfort in her stomach growing up, so naturally tears streamed down face as blood rushed through head, during these moments of intense nausea.

Looking at Aimee blankly and holding out this small box with confusion, she was asking, “What is this?”

“It’s a pregnancy test,” Aimee replied calmly.

“The instructions are on top of box or do you want me to teach you?”

When Casey heard the words “pregnancy test,” she was completely stunned.

Her mind couldn’t process it, and she just stared at Aimee and the small box in her hand as if it were a hot potato that she wanted to throw away.
