Alyssa noticed Winston leaving and went after him immediately.
“You don’t look too good, Dad. Are you feeling unwell in any way?” She held onto Winston. Her gaze was full of concern. “I’m feeling tired. Just wanted to go back to my room to rest.”
Winston closed his eyes for a moment. “Lyse, ask Liam to come and see me in my room in a bit. I have something to say to him.”
Yuliana, the princess of Kontina, risked getting reprimanded by her father when she returned home. That one kiss revealed her purpose for traveling all the way here. She had come only to meet with Liam.
She was a princess who ran away from the royal family in order to meet her lover. This was such a romantic long-distance relationship and a fairy tale about true love. However, to the Taylors, they were burdened by immense pressure!
“You abducted the princess, Miley. Is that okay?”

Back then, they had a lot of guards and special agents unde them. They were the ones who dealt with all those who broke palace rules and their country’s laws.
“At that time, Kontina was a cruel and corrupt place. Their political scene was insidious, and the royal family was way more ruthless. It was scary indeed.
“That was before. They have completely changed now, thanks to the efforts of the past few generations.”
Miley smiled warmly. She poured a cup of tea for Alyssa in case she was getting thirsty after having those desserts.
Mandy was stunned. “Wow, Lyse, did you become Kontinian? How do you know so much?”
“I often look up gossip about Kontina’s royal family while I munch on snacks. It’s much more interesting than your regular TV soap opera!”
Alyssa narrowed her eyes. “Just their gossip alone would make your heart race. The reality of the royal family back then was much more cruel and horrifying.

The expression on Miley’s face became conflicted the moment she heard Alyssa’s question. “How could they not know? Her Royal Highness even talked to me in private. She asked me to… matchmake them.’ Alyssa spit out the tea she was drinking while the dessert in Mandy’s hands fell to the ground!

Alyssa’s sharp eyes twinkled brightly. “Otherwise, such an aloof man like him wouldn’t have stood there like a piece of wood and allowed a woman he didn’t like net kiss him. There is only one possibility, which is that they both have feelings for one another.”
“It’s Liam’s freedom to like whoever he likes.”
Miley pressed her lips together slightly. “But he really wants to build a future with Princess Yuliana… he will have to marry into her family in Kontina and live in their palace forever. The princess is surely not going to marry into the Taylor family.”
In unison, Alyssa and Mandy exclaimed, “That can’t do! He can’t marry into their family!”
Miley chuckled helplessly, “That makes this difficult then. The royal family is never going to give in on this.”
The trio fell into silence.
It felt like Liam and Yuliana’s journey in love would be challenging.

Mandy sat down by her side, opened her arms, and pulled her into a warm embrace.

“I chose this, Lyse. What do you think?”
Alyssa was taken aback slightly. She received the box in her hands and opened it, and in it was a handmade, teardrop-shaped sapphire necklace decorated with diamonds around it. Even in the dim corridor, the necklace sparkled brightly.
“Axel, is this… what you’re giving to Amber? It’s beautiful!” Alyssa asked excitedly.
“Yeah. Amber already has a necklace, but it’s already really old. So, I was thinking of giving her a new one. Took me a long time to choose this, but I still feel like it’s a bit lacking.”
Axel scratched his head. Then, he sighed and consoled himself, “Actually, forget it. I don’t really have an eye for aesthetics. I’ve tried my best.”
“The reason why it’s a bit lacking is because you didn’t ask me to make it for you!”

Out of all of Winston’s children, Liam was the one with the gentlest personality. Even when he wasn’t seeing eye-to-eye with Winston, he sought to find out Winston’s reasoning patiently. “Miley likes Yules very much too. They interact often in Kontina, and they get along very well.
