Betty was frightened. Still, she put on the airs of a heiress, pointing at them and angrily scolding, “W- What are you all doing?

“Believe it or not, I’ll call the police and have you all arrested. I’ll fire you! Once you leave the Walsh family … I’ll make sure you can’t survive!”

A deep and authoritative voice echoed from behind, and the chaotic scene suddenly fell silent.

Everyone froze for a moment, then quickly bowed. “Mr. Javier.”

“Dad?” Betty was momentarily flustered, standing there awkwardly.

It was only then that she noticed that Javier and Rory had appeared behind her.

She had thought Javier was away on a business trip. How did he suddenly return?

“What were you doing just now? Did you hit someone?” Javier questioned sternly, his eyes showing a hint of anger.

“Dad… Please listen to me. It’s all these servants’ fault!”

Betty immediately changed her expression to a pitiful one. She then ran over to hug Javier’s arm like an innocent bunny.

“They were talking behind my back and Mom’s back. They’re so disrespectful and out of line! We pay them, but they don’t even have basic professional ethics! Please, just fire them.”

“Is that the reason why you resorted to violence?”

Javier ignored her complaints and continued with a serious face.” Just because you’re the daughter of the Walsh family and they’re servants, does that give you the right to use violence?

“Have you forgotten all the etiquette and manners I taught you since you were little? Or have you always been like this in private, and I’m only seeing it today?”

“Dad… W-What are you talking about?”

Betty’s heart pounded nervously as she stared blankly at Javier. “They insulted Mom and me. Do you think I was wrong? How can you say that?”

However, no matter how she accused, Javier remained calm, seemingly unaffected.

At this moment, the servants approached, expressing their intention to leave.

Although Javier was the head of the Walsh Group, he treated even the most ordinary employees with kindness. He never trampled on the dignity of ordinary people just because he had power and influence.

Despite his many flaws, he still had the demeanor of a scion. This was the difference between a top wealthy family and nouveau riche.

“The orderly operation of Seaview Manor every day is because of all of your hard work. I’m very grateful for your hard work over the years. I hope you’ll not resign because of this. If you do, I don’t know where to find such good employees like you.

“Today’s matter is my daughter’s fault. I’ll have her apologize to you. Betty, apologize.” Javier glanced at Betty sternly.

“Dad… W-What did you say?”

Betty was so angry that her scalp tingled, almost blurting out the words, “Are you crazy?”

“Regardless of the situation, using violence is wrong. It goes against the etiquette I taught you and tarnishes the family’s reputation. Apologize now.”

Javier’s expression remained stern, giving Betty no room for negotiation.

Betty had no choice but to grit her teeth and apologize to the servants with a flushed face. “I’m sorry. I was wrong.”

For the arrogant Betty, who had always considered herself outstanding, this was an insult akin to having her bones pulled out.

At this moment, the servants bowed together. “Ms. Lauren.”

Javier turned in surprise, only to see Landon holding hands with Lauren as they walked side by side, resembling a newlywed couple. The sweet atmosphere was palpable, even to him.

Surprisingly, he found himself thinking they looked well-matched.

But what touched Javier even more was the way Landon looked at Lauren.

It was so affectionate, filled with intense and passionate emotions. He was all too familiar with that look.

There was a time when he was infatuated with Anne, and it was with the same unwavering gaze of deep affection.

“Wow, it’s Mr. Landon. He’s with Ms. Lauren now?” The servants were. excited.

“This is great! Mr. Landon is hot and rich. Most importantly, he’s Mr. Cornelius’ eldest grandson. In the future, the entire Harper Group will be his. He can definitely protect Ms. Lauren.”

“That’s right. Ms. Lauren won’t be bullied by Betty anymore.”

The last sentence was deliberately whispered.

But Javier, despite his age, still had sharp ears. He frowned slightly.

“Dad… Lauren called out timidly. Her expression was enough to evoke sympathy.

“Hi, Dad,” Landon greeted with a bright and beautiful smile.

He lifted the hand tightly entwined with Lauren’s, intentionally showing off their affection in front of everyone. “Lauren missed you. and wanted to come back to see you.

Lauren’s cheeks turned as red as a tomato, and she shyly leaned toward Landon.

At this point, Betty had given up on entering the Harper family after Landon’s torment. Yet Betty couldn’t shake off her burning jealousy. when she saw Lauren and Landon’s interaction and thought Lauren had basically married into the Harper family.

“It’s good that you’re back.” Javier nodded repeatedly. “Lauren, how have you been lately? Is your health okay?”

“It’s fine. My dar-Landon takes good care of me,” Lauren stammered, almost accidentally calling Landon “darling” before quickly correcting herself.

Narrowing his eyes, Landon exerted a bit of force in their linked fingers and whispered in her ear, “Honestly, I still like it when you call me ‘darling.””

Lauren bit her lip tightly, blushing even more.

“Landon, thank you for taking care of Lauren.” Javier seemed to have approved of their relationship.

After all, they were not only in love but also a well-matched couple from suitable backgrounds.

If Landon were to marry Lauren, this alliance would yield benefits far beyond Javier’s expectations. The advantages for the Walsh Group resulting from the intermarriage of the two families were evident, leaving him with no reason to oppose it.

“Dad, you’re too kind. It’s just a matter of course.”

Landon fixed his gaze on the shy Lauren. His focused eyes were filled with intense desire. “Taking care of Lauren is a responsibility I bear for the rest of my life. I plan to pamper her for a lifetime.”

Javier coughed awkwardly a few times, his expression stiff.

Landon hadn’t officially asked for his permission to marry yet, so he couldn’t afford to show his inner turmoil. He couldn’t let Landon see that he approved of this prospective son-in-law.

That would be too embarrassing.

Meanwhile, the servants were all thinking, “Wow, so sweet and adorable! It wouldn’t be long before we witness Ms. Lauren getting married!”

Lauren’s eyes were moist. “Landon…”

“Dad, did we come at the wrong time? Are we disrupting your affairs?”

Landon casually smiled. “I wonder what Ms. Betty did to upset you so much. I’ve heard from Jeremy that you’re always busy, and hel mentioned that you don’t have much time to take care of yourself. Please don’t let some trivial matters harm your health.”

Betty was trembling all over, already on the verge of an emotional explosion.

She glared at Lauren with her red-rimmed eyes. She looked as if she wanted to pounce on her sister and tear her apart.

“Thank you for worrying about me, Landon.” Javier smiled.

“It’s not just me. There’s also Lauren and Jeremy. They all care about you.” Landon’s words were so sweet.

In fact, it wasn’t just to please his future father-in-law. He also wanted to gain favor for Jeremy.

“I haven’t seen Lauren in a long time. Come to my study, both of you. Let’s sit down and have a good chat.”

With an affectionate smile, Javier gestured to Lauren. “Come, Lauren, come to me.”

Although Lauren communicated less with Javier as she grew up, in her memory, he was the one who loved her the most when she was al child.

“Dad…”
