I Believe in Your Skills
Danika recalled Graham’s attitude toward Eustace and nodded. “He probably does. They’re already talking about the wedding arrangements.” “Really? That’s great.” Stephanie was happy. ‘ Now it looks no.velxo like you and Eustace will marry very quickly.”
“Not necessarily. My dad insists on getting a priest to tell us when we should marry. Who knows what the date will be.” Danika knew what Stephanie was thinking. She wanted to solidify things between her and Leoanrd after Danika and Eustace married.
Stephanie smiled. She didn’t think there was anything wrong with that. “You should get a nice date. Your marriage from before was sloppy. Now you have to take it seriously.”
As Danika’s best friend, Stephanie wanted her to be happy. Hence, she didn’t think there was anything wrong with waiting for a bit.
They talked in the coffee shop until night fell over the city. Danika had to check on Eustace’s condition, so she didn’t eat with Stephanie.
Back in the villa, Danika didn’t see Eustace in the living room. She went to the bedroom. However, there was no one there. It struck her as odd. Could Eustace have gone to the company?
At the thought, she walked out of the bedroom no.velxo and swept her gaze over the floor. The light in the study was on. She felt bewildered.
She pushed the door open. Eustace was sketching something at his desk.
Quietly, Danika walked over. There was a sheet of A3-sized paper on the table, but that wasn’t the point. On it was drawn a wedding gown, and Eustace was currently sketching out the exquisite little details with utmost care.
Danika’s eyes filled with tears. She was moved. “Did you design that?”
“Danika? When did you come in here?” Eustace was shocked to see her by his side. He wanted to hide the sketch, but it was too late. He smiled in embarrassment. “I wanted to surprise you, but you’ve found me.”
“You were too engrossed in it. You didn’t notice me walking in.” Danika took the sketch and held it up to gaze at it.
Eustace was not a professional designer, but it was an exquisite design. She couldn’t take her eyes off it. “It’s beautiful.”
“Do you like it? I’m self-taught. I was afraid that you wouldn’t like it.” He was anxious before, wondering if he should entrust the design to a professional instead. However, he felt that the wedding dress was too important to be designed by anyone else.
Danika smiled at him, then said, “I like it. no.velxo Your design is beautiful. Other designs couldn’t compare.”
“That’s great. But it’ll take a while for the design to be realized into an actual dress,” Eustace said.
Danika nodded and put the sketch back down. “Don’t rush it. I believe in your skills. You haven’t eaten yet, have you? Let’s eat.”
Eustace nodded and put the sketch away. He would be incredibly busy these few days. He had the wedding ring to design, too. He wanted to customize them all.
They walked out of the study room. Although it was still early, Eustace was still not completely sobered up. Hence, they decided to dine out.
“Your parents seem to want to go to the priest tomorrow. Should we follow them?” Eustace looked at Danika, who was driving.
Danika thought about it and shook her head. “There’s no need. They can go by themselves. They’ll tell us the date once they have it, so we don’t need to worry.”
“Alright. Whatever you say.”
There Should Be Good News
Although Danika and Eustace had gotten engaged, it didn’t make much of a difference to her. She still went to work the next day.
Possibly because of Eustace’s donations, the hospital hired a few more doctors. Even if Danika didn’t see the patients, they would be able to be treated.
Danika was satisfied with this. She was much more relaxed now.
At night, Danika received a call from Graham telling them about their wedding date. Apparently, the only time they could marry this year was in three months.
Danika was exasperated. She knew that the date would be beyond their expectations.
Three months. She told Eustace about it, who didn’t have much of an issue with it. Three months was enough time for the wedding dress and the rings to arrive.
“Danika, since we’ve already decided to marry, and the date has been fixed, should we go to Parrington to see Grandpa?” Eustace was a little embarrassed. He and Danika returned from Parrington less than two days ago.
Danika didn’t refuse. “That makes sense. We should go see Grandpa.”
And not just Eustace’s grandfather. She wanted to see hers, too. She wanted to tell him, even if it was just his grave. This wedding would be different from the first. The first was only because she wanted to fulfill her grandfather’s wishes, but this time, she was willing to marry.
“Well, we’ll go to Parrington once things settle down at the hospital. Maybe in two days,’ Eustace said.
Danika considered it. Since there were a few more doctors around, she wasn’t really that important. “We could go tomorrow. After your donation, the director doesn’t even care if I show up.”
Sometimes, she felt that her presence pressured the nurses around her. She knew the reason why. Everyone was thinking that she was different from them. They were once colleagues, but now, she was their boss. They would treat her differently.
“I’m okay with that. I was just worried that you’d be slacking off.” Eustace was free whenever. The Quinceys were pretty much in stable condition. Even if something cropped up, Isabelle would be able to handle it.
Danika had told him to nurture Julian and Isabelle. It seemed that her decision was the right one.
Julian wasn’t very gifted in this department, but Isabelle was. She could handle it all on her own, and Eustace had handed a lot of things over to her. He was now very relaxed indeed.
“Who would think that I’m slacking off?” Danika smiled, a little exasperated.
Eustace knew what she meant and smiled awkwardly. “We’ll go tomorrow, then. I have to call him.”
“Alright.” Danika didn’t mind.
Then, they hung up. Danika was in no rush to head home. She still had a few patients to tend to before she went back.
In Parrington, when Old Mr. Quincey heard that Eustace and Danika would come to visit, he instantly felt better.
“Warren, get someone to make the preparations. Eustace and Danika are coming tomorrow,” he said.
Warren was surprised. “They’re coming back?”
“Yes. There should be good news.” Old Mr. Quincey was happy. Eustace had already let him know a little about his plan. He knew that Eustace was planning to propose. He just didn’t know if he had succeeded.
Now, it seemed that he had.
Alright, Whatever You Say
Warrens smiled and quickly went to make the arrangements. He soon returned to Old Mr. Quincey’s side. “You can rest easy now, Mr. Quincey.” “Yes, I can.” Old Mr. Quincey had held on for a long time because he was worried that Eustace would end up lonely. Now, even if he left this world,Eustace would have his own family.
“When they first divorced, I didn’t think I’d see this day coming.” Warren remembered arranging the wedding for Eustace. Back then, he thought that it was all a pity. Danika was such a good person, but Eustace didn’t know how to cherish her.
Who would have thought that after so many years, they would still end up together, with a stronger relationship than ever before?
Old Mr. Quincey was happy. “I think that they’re very compatible with each other. It seems that God thinks the same as I do.”
“Yes. You are wise indeed, Mr. Quincey,” Warren said.
As they spoke, Danika was finished checking on all the patients, and Eustace had gone to the hospital to bring her home.
“Didn’t I say you didn’t have to get me?” Quincey Group and the hospital were on different sides of the town. If Eustace were to come to get her, he would have to take a long route. Danika thought it was too much of a hassle and didn’t want Eustace to get her.
Eustace held her hand and said, “You got off work early, and I’m happy to drive you. Why can’t I do that?”
Danika had nothing to say to that.
They left the hospital. Eustace was in a good mood that day and decided to cook. Hence, they did not go home and instead went to the supermarket.
“What would you like to have?” Eustace asked. Cooking was no problem for him. The problem was what she wanted to eat.
Danika walked by his side, looking at the vegetables around her. “I’m fine with anything. You can make what you like.” She couldn’t make a decision just like that.
Eustace had no choice but to pick n脴velxo them out himself. Most of the dishes were Danika’s favorites. His love was clearly shown.
Once they were done shopping in the supermarket, Danika brought him to the mall to buy some things.
Since they were going back to Parrington tomorrow, no.velxo they had to bring a gift to Old Mr. Quincey. On top of that, they weren’t just going to see him. They were going to Orchid Village as well.
She hadn’t gone to her uncle’s home before, but now she had to. Marriage was a big deal, and she had to let them know.
They bought a lot of things. When they got home, it was already seven in the evening. Eustace went straight into the kitchen, and Danika packed the things they had bought.
Half an hour later, Eustace was done with dinner, and Danika was done packing up. They ate together.
“Is there anywhere you’d love to go, Danika?” Eustace suddenly asked.
Danika thought about it and said, “I want to go to so many places, but I don’t have the time to.”
“Maybe after the wedding, we’ll arrange our honeymoon trip. I’ll take you to all the places you want to go. What do you think?” Eustace asked. Although he could arrange it himself, he was worried that Danika wouldn’t like the places he picked.
Danika went quiet, thinking that it was a good idea. “Alright. Whatever you say.”
They smiled at each other. Although they weren’t married yet, their chemistry could compare to that of married couples.
Thus, another item was added n脴velxoto Eustace’s itinerary. Besides designing the gown and the ring, he had to plan their honeymoon.
This wasn’t a problem for him. Besides the designing, which he would do himself, the rest could be given to his subordinates. He would only need to go through them to make the final decision.
Why Are You Suddenly Concerned About Her?
After dinner, Eustace went to his study once more to work on his sketch.
Danika didn’t disturb him. She read in her bedroom. However, Gilbert suddenly called. “Gilbert, what’s up?”
“Well, it’s actually nothing,” Gilbert said, hesitant to continue.
Danika could tell that something was amiss and asked, “Gilbert, you can tell me anything. We don’t keep anything from each other.”
“I just want to ask you if Marigold has been to your hospital to do any checkups,” Gilbert said after taking a deep breath.
