Those were all the information she had collected.

Leonard took them and paged through them casually.

However, as he went through them, his face became increasingly grim.

“Damn it!”

Leonard shouted in anger.

Each piece of information represented a person who had died at the hands of Eric.

The thick stack of papers represented countless lives.

“I asked for your help not only for personal reasons but also because this person is truly despicable.I feel that allowing him to roam freely is an insult to the deceased,” Danika said.

Although she hoped Eric would stop bothering Lynette, she could set aside her personal feelings about a person.

If Eric hadn’t committed any crimes, she would have thought of other ways to deal with him.

Leonard nodded, understanding Danika’s intention.

“Don’t worry.I know what to do.”

Afterward, Leonard left Zellweger Castle.

It was evident that he would likely personally take action in this matter.

Danika then turned her attention to her father and Lynette.

With a hint of concern, she asked, “Dad, are you both okay?”

Graham opened his mouth, but he didn’t answer, his gaze shifting to Lynette by his side.

He was fine, but Lynette seemed to have been greatly affected and had an unpleasant expression on her face.

“What are you afraid of, Madam Bell? Are you worried that we can’t protect you, or do you not want to stay here?” Danika asked rudely, her words laced with annoyance.

She didn’t understand why she was afraid.

“Danika!”

Graham reprimanded her, “Don’t speak to your mom like that.”

Danika pursed her lips.

In her heart, Lynette was still not her mother.

Well, Danika had not accepted her as her mother yet.

“It’s alright, Graham.I understand, Danika.I’m being too weak. She was having a hard time getting over the fact that so many people had died because of her.In addition, she felt that she had brought endless trouble to Danika and Graham, which made her unsure if she should remain there.Danika sighed, trying her best to calm herself down.

“Dad, take her back to the room to rest.A good sleep would help.I will handle the rest.”

“Alright, thank you for your hard work,” Graham said.

He also thought Lynette needed rest, so he didn’t stay behind to discuss further with Danika. He wasn’t worried, though—he still had faith in Danika’s abilities.

Lynette stood up and looked at Danika.

“I’m sorry, Danika, for disappointing you.”

“It doesn’t matter whether I’m disappointed or not.You are the person Dad likes, and as long as he’s not disappointed, it’s fine.”

In Danika’s opinion, how she felt about the situation wasn’t that important.

Faye’s Identity

Lynette was about to say something but ended up keeping it to herself, figuring that she should compose herself before having a chat with Danika.

Graham took Lynette back to her room, and Danika glanced at the mess in the living room. She rubbed her temples and instructed someone to clean up the place.

As she sat on the sofa, she suddenly realized that Eustace hadn’t yet arrived. That wasn’t normal. Usually, Eustace would rush over immediately upon receiving the news. Worried, she took out her phone to call Eustace.

The call was quickly answered, and Eustace’s voice came through. “Danika, has everything been taken care of?”

“Yeah, everything has been dealt with, but Eric ran away,” Danika replied. She wondered why Eustace didn’t come when he knew about the incident.

As if he could read her thoughts, Eustace said, “I have something to deal with in the Quincey family, so I can’t come for the time being. However, I’ve arranged for someone to go over.”

“Okay, I understand. You take care of your business first.” Danika didn’t ask further. After all, she trusted that Eustace wouldn’t lie to her. She figured that Eustace knew nothing would happen to the Zellwegers even if he didn’t come. Hence, it wasn’t unreasonable for him to be delayed if something had happened to the Quinceys.

After hanging up, Danika narrowed her eyes before instructing her people to start looking for Eric. She couldn’t stop worrying until he was put behind bars.

Eustace hung up the phone and looked at the woman in front of him.

“Should I call you Faye, or should I call you Miss Wardley?” Eustace frowned, looking at Faye, who was clad in professional attire.

Everything was unpredictable. He had never imagined that Faye was Miss Wardley, the daughter of the Wardley family, one of the Ten Elites of Bardoff City.

Faye’s expression turned slightly unpleasant as she tried to explain, “Eustace, the Wardley family sent you an invitation before. That occasion was meant to formally introduce me and my brother’s return to the family, but you didn’t come.”

Eustace recalled the invitation. He had indeed made plans to go with Danika, but that night, Danika received a call about Graham’s disappearance. She left Bardoff City early the next morning. Hence, he wasn’t in the mood to attend the banquet. After finishing his work, he went to Bayside City to find Danika. The Wardley family’s event didn’t even cross his mind.

“Eustace, to be honest, I never expected that one day I would find my biological parents, and they would turn out to be the Wardleys, one of the Ten Elites of Bardoff City.’

The whole thing felt like a miracle to Faye. She used to feel inferior because of her humble family background, thinking that no matter how good her relationship with Eustace was, she wasn’t worthy of him.

However, things had changed. She was currently a young lady from a wealthy family, not much inferior to Danika. That was why she mustered up the courage to appear before Eustace.

Alas, despite all the time that had passed, she still hadn’t figured out what was the difference between Danika and her.

“I don’t care about which family you’re from, but I do have a question to ask you.” Eustace chuckled lightly and continued, “To be precise, I want to ask your brother, Anthony. I should call him Anthony Wardley, right? I’m curious, didn’t he sacrifice himself to save me back then? So, who is this brother you speak of?

Are You Trying to School Me?

Eustace’s tone was calm. Although there was not a single trace of anger in it, Faye found his words cold.

“The situation back then was very complicated, and I don’t know the specifics. Let my brother explain it to you,” Faye said. Although Anthony had already told her, she didn’t dare to tell Eustace the truth.

Eustace leaned back on the sofa and chuckled. “There’s no need for that. He is the president of Wardley Inc. There’s no need for him to explain anything to me.”

“Eustace, listen—‘

“Stop. We aren’t that close, Miss Wardley.” Eustace raised his hand, no longer interested in continuing the conversation with her. Rather than wasting time with Faye, he’d rather go back and spend more time with Danika.

Faye’s face turned pale. She bit her lip, her eyes welling up with tears. “Eustace, please don’t do this. I’m still Faye.”

“Hm, Faye Lawrence and Faye Wardley are not the same.”

Faye Lawrence was a pitiful orphan entrusted to him by Anthony, and Eustace always treated her as a younger sister. Faye Wardley, on the other hand, was different. She was a daughter of the Wardley family, someone Eustace had never known.

“Eustace, to me, it’s all the same. You will always be the person I’m closest to,” Faye said.

Eustace replied with a sneer.

“Eustace, I don’t want you to misunderstand me. If you’re going to be like this, I would rather not have returned to the Wardley family,” Faye said in a sad tone that would have made Eustace feel sorry for her in the past. However, in the present, his eyes held no emotion as he watched her throw a pity party.

Without Eustace’s comfort, Faye felt even more upset. “Eustace, I came here today on behalf of the Wardleys to discuss a deal with you.”

Despite Eustace’s poor reaction, she wasn’t in a rush to fix it immediately.

After all, she would have plenty of opportunities to interact with him. After all, she was no longer the poor Faye Lawrence she used to be.

When Eustace heard that, he realized it was true. He had been discussing a deal with the Wardleys, so when he was informed that the representative of the Wardleys had arrived, he didn’t think much of it and brought them in. Never had he expected it to be Faye.

“A deal? I don’t think there is a need for a deal with the Wardleys anymore.” Since he learned about the current situation of the Wardley family, Eustace no longer planned to cooperate with them.

Upon hearing these words, Faye’s face turned even paler, and she couldn’t believe her ears. “Eustace, I know you have misunderstandings about me and my brother, but you’re not the kind of person who lets personal feelings interfere with business. This cooperation is important for both our families, so you should let your personal feelings interfere with it.’

“Are you trying to school me?’ he asked with a sneer.

“No, Eustace. I’m just hoping that the deal between our families won’t be affected as it is important to both families,” she answered, shaking her head sadly.

“I used to think the same way, but now, I have serious doubts about the Wardleys’ internal situation, so I want to call it off. Is that not allowed?” Although this cooperation is important to the Quinceys, they could live without it.

Faye lowered her head. “Eustace, why are you like this? Regardless of what happened, we used to be close.”

“Used to be close?’ Eustace couldn’t help but laugh. “Miss Wardley, please be cautious with your words. I have never had any contact with the Wardley family. So what is this closeness you speak of?”

“Eustace-“

“You may leave now. There is no need for further discussion. It would be best if you remind Anthony after you return that I need an explanation for what happened back then.”

Eustace seriously suspected that he had been manipulated. Otherwise, how could someone who was supposed to be dead appear in Bardoff City

Who Upset You?

Faye bit her lip. Although she was upset, she dared not say anything more at the moment, afraid of provoking Eustace further. She had no choice but to leave for now.
