Paul sneered.He wouldn’t have paid attention to Danika if it weren’t for Eustace.
“Gilbert, this might not be your responsibility, but it has already happened.You have to compensate them in some way.”
Danika looked at her brother.She was indeed there to resolve their problem.She didn’t want them to hold this against each other.
It wouldn’t benefit either Marigold or Gilbert.
Gilbert didn’t object, letting Danika continue.
“You can’t support her emotionally, that’s for sure.That leaves you with the more materialistic option.”

Before Gilbert could react, Paul said, dissatisfied, “What do you mean, Danika? Do you think the Wagners are broke? I didn’t come here looking for his money.”
If it was money they were discussing, the Wagners were much richer than Gilbert.

Danika didn’t think that Marigold would refuse. She was stubborn but not a fool.
