Seeing that Eustace was calling her, she hesitated but decided to answer.
“What’s up?”
Because of James’ situation, Danika wasn’t in a good mood, so her tone was naturally not as cordial as before.
Hearing her impassive tone, Eustace felt slightly annoyed at himself for making the call.
“I have some information about the Glasses. If you’re interested, come and see me.”
“Oh, where are you?” Danika asked.
Eustace gave her an address that was in the villa area where they had run into each other.
“Is he asking her to go to the villa where they live together?”
Danika felt resistant as she considered that possibility.
“Are you coming or not?” Eustace felt uneasy when she didn’t speak. He had kindly offered to help, but the other party didn’t seem to appreciate it.
It seemed like a waste of time on his part.He wouldn’t have bothered to deal with things like these normally. He only did it because he thought Danika looked really down.
After hesitating for a moment, Danika thought she should be rational.
“I’ll be there.”
With that, Danika got up from her bed and quickly went to Eustace’s villa. She was surprised to find that the villa where Eustace lived was not the same one where he had come out with Blake.
“You live here?”
Danika couldn’t help asking out of curiosity.
Eustace nodded.
“Yeah.Is there any problem?”
Danika shook her head.
Even though she had many questions, she didn’t say anything in the end.
Whether Eustace was living with Blake was none of her business.
“Where is the information?”
Danika cut to the chase right away.
Since James’ marriage to Jolene was inevitable, she should focus on other things that she could do in the meantime.
They needed to take down the Glasses as soon as possible, as that would make James feel better.
Danika thought having success in work would help to balance out his emotional distress.
“Why are you so eager?” Eustace asked, holding the file with the information in his hand.
Seeing how Danika was enthusiastic about the information but not really caring about him, he felt dissatisfied.
However, he quickly came to his senses.
Why would he have that kind of thought? He didn’t like Danika, so why should he care whether she paid attention to him or not? Eustace felt a headache coming on.
It seemed that Blake’s treatment wasn’t working well; it didn’t help him shake off this woman’s influence on him.
Danika took the file from Eustace and read through it carefully.
Soon, a smile appeared on her face.
Everything that Eustace uncovered would come in handy.
It contained a lot of incriminating information on the Glass family, and with this, Danika was more confident.
Closing the file, Danika asked, “What are your conditions?”
Eustace was stunned for a moment, failing to understand what she meant.
“You’re not giving me this information for free, are you?”
She didn’t believe Eustace was giving it to her for free.
He must want something in return for the information he had provided her.
Before Danika asked, Eustace had indeed planned to give it to her for free, but now he changed his mind.
“Why should he give it to her for free?” he pondered.
“After the downfall of the Glasses, I want a share of the pie,” Eustace replied.
He was too insignificant now.
Even though he’d moved his business from Parrington to Bardoff City, he couldn’t be too blatant with the Quinceys of Bardoff City around.
This resulted in him being unable to take on many projects.
Danika nodded, not surprised by his request.
“Aren’t you afraid that the Quinceys will find out about us working together?” she asked.
She thought that the Quinceys probably wouldn’t want to see two families working together to take over another family, so they would definitely not approve of Eustace wanting a share of the pie.
“I merged my Quincey Group with Paul’s Wagner Group.Whatever I get from this will be given to Wagner Group,” Eustace explained.
There was only one Quincey Group in Bardoff City, so when he decided to return to the Quincey family, he merged his company into Paul’s Wagner Group.
What’s It to You?
Danika was astounded by what she heard. She hadn’t paid attention to this matter for a while and didn’t expect Eustace to have arranged everything so well.
Putting a hand on her chin, she looked at Eustace quizzically.
“Your actions show that you’re very confident in taking down the Quincey family.”
Otherwise, Eustace wouldn’t have merged his company with Paul’s.It was obvious that he wanted the Quincey family and chose to give up on what he had built previously.
Of course, he wasn’t giving everything up entirely.
Since it was likely that Paul’s family would become a formidable force in Bardoff City after the merger, albeit still inferior compared to the Ten Elites, it would still be helpful to Eustace.
“Of course.”Eustace nodded.
He wouldn’t allow himself to fail in his plans.
Seeing how confident he was, Danika didn’t probe much.
After all, Eustace taking over the Quincey family wouldn’t harm her.
“Okay, I agree with your condition.”
Eustace’s information was quite valuable, after all.His asking for a share of the pie wasn’t out of line.
After discussing the matter, the two fell into silence.
Danika felt a little restless and awkward.
“Can I go now?”
“What’s the hurry?” Eustace asked, then quickly realizing that his words were inappropriate.
Therefore, he quickly changed the subject.
“I noticed you weren’t in a good mood when I last saw you.Was it because of James?”
Eustace was referring to the time when he saw her leave James’ villa. She wasn’t in a good mood then and wasn’t much better now.
“Yeah.” she nodded, not denying it.
“Is it because of him and Jolene? Are you unhappy that he’s marrying Jolene?” Eustace asked.
He wasn’t sure why he wanted to know.
Somehow, he had an inexplicable desire to understand the situation.
“Of course. If he marries Jolene, won’t his life be ruined?” Danika sighed.
Eustace didn’t like the sound of that.
Did that mean James wouldn’t be ruined if he married Danika? “It takes two to tango, don’t you think? You’re an outsider, so you shouldn’t mind their business too much.”
Eustace sounded a little snarky as he commented on the situation indifferently.
Danika glared at him and retorted irritably, “You don’t know anything!”
