“Why would I give up? She’s my woman and forever will be,” Paul said naturally; he didn’t think anything was wrong with his words.
Danika was speechless. She rolled her eyes at him.
“Haven’t you considered that Stephanie doesn’t want to be your woman?”
“Of course she does!”
Paul answered at once.He believed that Stephanie liked him.
At the very least, there was no way that she didn’t want to be his woman.
Vincent quickly got her a diving suit.
Danika put it on without hesitation and slowly glided down on the rope the rescue team had prepared.
Paul watched her disappear, scoffing.
“It’s all pretense.”Vincent was exasperated.
“Mr.Wagner, Mr.Quincey cares a lot about Danika. If something happens to her…”
“If something happens to her this easily, she isn’t worthy of him.”
Paul put on a diving suit as well and disappeared from Vincent’s sight.
Seeing them both leave, Vincent stood in his spot, suddenly wishing he could go down, too.But he couldn’t swim.
On top of that, he had to handle the company. He got someone to keep an eye on Danika and Paul.
Nothing could happen to them.
In the water, Danika quickly found where Eustace’s car had sunk.
There were pieces of broken glass around it.
But there were no traces of Eustace.
She swam over slowly, looking around carefully, trying to find a clue as to what had happened.
A tiny clue was enough.
But reality disappointed her.
Maybe it was the water.
Maybe things had happened all too quickly.
Eustace had not left behind any clues at all.
Even after round after round of searching, Danika came up empty-handed.
She swam toward the shore and looked at the place where his car had sunk.
What would Eustace have done if he had survived? He would have swam with all his might toward the shore.
She began looking for clues on the sand.
As long as Eustace was here, he would have left something behind.
Paul went ashore and saw Danika squatting on the beach, sifting through the sand carefully.
He walked over.
When he saw Danika, rage surged through his chest for no reason.
“Do you really think Eustace would leave clues here?” Danika ignored him.
There was no point arguing with someone like Paul.
“with what happened, he would have either swam downstream or gotten caught by his attackers.Going ashore would be instant death,” Paul said.
Although he didn’t like Danika, he shared his thoughts with her.If those people wanted him dead, they would not have let him go ashore.
Do You Want Me to Take Responsibility?
In the Quincey Manor in Bardoff City, a middle-aged man looked at the bodyguard behind him.
“Is it done?”
“Yes.The target is dead, and the ones remaining are not worth worrying over,” the bodyguard replied.
The man nodded in satisfaction.
As long as the few influential ones were dead, the rest were mere jokes.
Even if the old man spoonfed opportunities to them, they wouldn’t be able to cope.
“Does that old man know?” he asked.
“Probably not.”
“Good.Get someone to leak the news to him.Crush his spirits.Make him give up on handing over the Quinceys to these outsiders.Quincey Inc is mine!”
A ferocious look flashed over his face.
Jade was working hard in Jeneration Group. She knew that something had happened to Danika, so she had to work extra hard to keep the company to not trouble Danika.
“Miss Weston, someone is here for you.”
Her secretary knocked on the door and walked in.
“who is it?”
“His name is Max Pearson, and he says he’s your friend.”
Max.
Jade’s expression shifted. Her memories flashed uncontrollably through her mind, but she suppressed them quickly.
“Tell him I’m busy.”
“Alright.”
The secretary left, but Jade could no longer focus on work. She thought of what had happened on the night she had gotten drunk.
Until now, it all felt like a dream. She was already at this age.
How could she have acted so impulsively? “I was careless,” she thought.
Downstairs, when Max heard that Jade refused to see him, a smile appeared on his lips.He did not leave, choosing to wait for her.
Since that night, Jade had been avoiding him.
Today, he had to get a clear answer from her.
Jade was not expecting him to wait for her.
When she saw him, her first instinct was to flee.
However, her secretary was right beside her.
There were numerous employees around her as well.
If she left, people would start talking.Max walked toward her and said calmly, “Let’s talk.”
“Start the car,” Jade said to her secretary. Her secretary nodded.
Though it felt odd, she went to start the car as instructed.
After her secretary left, Jade didn’t dwindle. She did not want to become the center of gossip. She brought Max to the break room on the first floor.
Her anxiety decreased only when the door was shut.
“What do you want to talk about? I thought that I had made things very clear.”
“Clear? I didn’t find it clear at all.”
Max was upset when faced with her attitude.
“Are you just going to pretend nothing happened that night?”
“Yep.Nothing at all.”
Jade nodded.
Her logical tone made Max extremely upset. His eyes reddened slightly, and he had to hold back his anger.
“Jade Weston! What do you take me for?”
