Why would Danika worry when she could rely on herself? Jolene was upset by her comment.

“Don’t act so noble.

There’s no way you really don’t care.”

She felt that Danika was a hypocrite.

To Jolene, It was something everyone did, but Danika refused to admit it.

I Can’t Afford Jolene left Danika and mingled with the other guests, mostly her relatives and friends.

Feeling at home, she thought herself better off here than with country people like Danika.

Jolene was wearing an upset expression when she met Randy.

Concerned by her expression, Randy said, “I understand how you feel, but the Glasses can’t interfere too much with the Zellwegers’ family affairs.”

“IT know.”

Rowena had told her this long ago, and Jolene didn’t plan to make Randy take any action against the Zellwegers, as it was her family, after all.

“I just can’t take this.

Why does my father spoil Danika? Just look at how he treats her during this event—he has never treated me like that before.”

Jolene was upset about Graham’s favoritism.

Randy glanced at Danika, but he didn’t understand Graham’s reasoning.

Perhaps it was because she was the beloved child.

He didn’t dare to say this to Jolene lest she made a scene.

After a moment of silence, he smiled and said, “Don’t worry, even if your father spoils her, she won’t fit in here in the capital.

Remember, this is your turf.

Isn’t Brandon, who has been chasing you, the organizer tonight? It’s time to use him.”

Jolene recalled that the party tonight was hosted by the Britts, one of the Ten Elites of Bardoff City.

Brandon, the heir of the Britt family, had been pursuing her, but she had never accepted him because she believed the Zellwegers were superior.

But that didn’t stop her from keeping him as a backup plan.

An idea sprung up in Jolene’s mind, and she laughed.

“Randy, I know what to do.”

“Alright, go for it.”

Randy laughed.

It would benefit Randy if Jolene was the heir to the Zellweger family since she was his cousin.

However, he knew that Danika, who had her own company and was famous in Parrington, was not easy to deal with.

If the Zellweger family ended up in her hands, it would be difficult for him to merge it with the Glass family.

Therefore, no matter how he looked at it, he knew supporting Jolene was his best bet.

Despite this, he still took a step toward Danika, thinking about building a relationship with her.

Danika had just started helping herself to some food when Randy approached her.

“Hi Danika, I’m your cousin,”

he said, approaching her.

“My cousin?”

Danika wondered to herself, frowning.

“You must be joking, Mr.Glass,”

she said.

“I can’t afford to have a cousin like you.”

“It’s okay.

If you don’t want to acknowledge me as a cousin, you can call me Randy.”

Randy continued smiling, not angered by her words.

Danika looked away, not intending to talk to him.

However, Randy didn’t give up so easily.

He sat beside her, asking, ”Have you gotten familiar with Bardoff City? You probably don’t know many people here.

Let me introduce you to a few.”

“No thanks,”

Danika refused his offer.

She didn’t have a good impression of Rowena, nor did she have a good impression of the Glasses.

On top of that, she could feel that Randy had bad intentions and an ulterior motive for approaching her.

There was no way he was genuinely offering her his help.

She decided not to deal with him as he screamed trouble.

I Thought You Were Warning Me

Danika repeatedly declined, causing Randy to become visibly upset despite his earlier good temperament.

“In Bardoff City, it’s not wise to isolate yourself,” he said, his tone now lacking the earlier hospitality.

As the wolf had shed its sheep clothing, Danika was finally willing to look at him.

“So, tell me, what will you do if I insist on being alone?” she asked with interest, wanting to see how Randy would respond.

Randy’s face froze, aware that he could not treat Danika poorly, especially since they were at an event. Even if they weren’t, she was the eldest daughter of the Zellwegers.

He faked a cough to ease the tension. “Wow, you sound so serious. I was only kindly reminding you, with no ulterior motives,” he said.

Danika chuckled lightly. ‘Oh? I thought you were warning me just now,’ she said with a little disdain. She knew that the other guests did not like her and did not know how to interact with her, but they didn’t dare to express their feelings outright because of her position in the Zellweger family.

The two lapsed into silence, with Randy unsure of what to say. He felt that conversing with Danika was a waste of time, given that she clearly did not like him.

Looking up, he noticed that Jolene and Brandon were conversing nearby. After Brandon whispered something into Jolene’s ear, she smiled, and Brandon walked to the stage.

Randy knew that the show was about to begin. He glanced at Danika, who was still eating, seemingly unaware of the commotion around her.

“I don’t think you’re willing to acknowledge me as family. Since that’s the case, I’ll get out of your hair. I hope you won’t regret your decision today,’ Randy said. He wanted to gauge Danika’s response toward him. If she had reacted well, Randy might have even supported her. Alas, things didn’t go as he had imagined, as Danika didn’t take him seriously at all. no.velxoIf she took over the

Zellweger family, it would not benefit the Glass family. Danika was baffled by his behavior. Was she obliged to make him feel good just because he offered her a favor?

Just then, she noticed Eustace looking at her from a distance. She couldn’t explain why, but she was happy to see him there. They nodded to each other, and that was as far as Eustace dared to do. He didn’t want to draw attention to her.

Eustace wanted to tell everyone at the party that Danika was his, but he knew it wasn’t the right time. He would do it when he was strong enough. Danika was unaware of Eustace’s thoughts, and soon, someone came to greet her because of her status as Miss Zellweger.

At that moment, someone else came up beside Eustace.

“Isn’t she dazzling?” Christopher said, looking at Danika with a hint of regret in his eyes.

Even Christopher could only nod and say hello to Danika on that night’s occasion.

Eustace turned his head to look at Christopher when he heard his voice, frowning in confusion. ‘What are you trying to say?”

With a small smile, Christopher continued watching Danika. “You and I are no longer good enough for Danika. Are you still not going to give up?”

Eustace didn’t understand why Christopher was saying that to him. “Why does it matter to me whether I’m worthy or not? Why are you saying these things to Me?”

To Eustace, even though Danika was the eldest daughter of the Zellweger family, she was still the one he liked. He didn’t care whether he deserved her or not.

“It seems that you are really more determined than me,”no.velxo Christopher said with a sad smile. He had grown apprehensive about liking Danika. Before she returned to the Zellweger family, Christopher felt that he was worthy of her.

He sighed helplessly at the thought of his family background, which couldn’t compare to the Ten Elites of Bardoff City. And he certainly couldn’t compare to

Eustace, given how resolutely he loved Danika. Looking at how bright Danika shone in the distance, he realized he could only be friends with her.

He turned to Eustace, his gaze carrying admiration. “All the best. I hope you will get what you’re looking for.”

Although he didn’t like Eustace very much, he felt that Eustace and Danika were very compatible.
