Graham was feeling upset.He saw that Danika hadn’t really accepted him as a father yet.
Danika didn’t deny it.
“We haven’t met for so many years.You have to give me some time.”
“Alright.There’s no rush.”
As long as Danika didn’t oppose him directly, Graham could wait.
What he feared was that Danika wouldn’t so much as give him a chance.
Danika cleared her things and went downstairs for a walk.
The villa was huge.
They had flowers and fountains.
Danika thought it would be nice to stroll around after meals.
“You’re probably really happy, aren’t you?”
Jolene’s voice sounded from behind.She stood in the shadows, hatred seeping through her.
Danika turned to look at her and smiled.
“I’m alright.Not much to be happy about.”
Danika didn’t find joy in letting Jolene get frustrated for a bit.
“I don’t know where you got the balls to return to the Zellwegers from.Your mom and my dad never married.You’re just a kid born out of wedlock.Aren’t you ashamed?”
Jolene was trying to look for any trace of embarrassment or humiliation on Danika’s face, but there was nothing.
Danika only smiled, instilling a sense of disgust in Jolene.
Danika looked at the flowers, saying slowly, “I don’t know what happened, and I don’t care.I really didn’t care about coming here, until Rowena sent someone out to Parrington to assassinate me.I wouldn’t have come here if she hadn’t done that.Things are peaceful as long as you don’t provoke me on purpose.And since you have, I won’t let you get your way.”
How Much Money Do You Want?
Danika’s words had come straight from her heart, but Jolene didn’t believe a word.She had already pegged Danika as her rival, here to steal everything away from her.She scoffed and said, “What a lovely excuse.Why would you come here if you weren’t interested in the Zellwegers?”
“Because of you and your mother.”
Danika smirked.
If it weren’t for them, she might not have come back.
Jolene didn’t want to continue with the topic.She thought there was no point in it.
“Tell me, what do you want?”
Danika frowned and laughed.
“What can I do? Why can’t I understand what you’re saying?”
“Stop acting dumb.How much money do you want to leave the Zellwegers?” Jolene asked.
In her eyes, Danika was doing this for the money.
Danika was annoyed seeing Jolene act so high and mighty.
Couldn’t she understand plain English? Hadn’t Danika made it clear enough? “Money? How much money can you give me?”
Danika asked her as if she were looking at a fool.
Jolene thought for a moment and said, “One million dollars.You will leave the Zellwegers and never come back.”
Although she didn’t have a million dollars to spare, her mother probably wouldn’t have a problem giving it to her.She wouldn’t have given Danika this much if she had known how stubborn she was.
“One million?”
Danika laughed.She was a little surprised.
“The Zellwegers are indeed rich.A million is spare change to them.”
It wasn’t that the Zellwegers couldn’t give her a million dollars; Danika was surprised that Jolene could start from a million dollars.

When Graham went to the dining room, he didn’t see Danika.
“Where’s Danika?” he asked the butler.
“Miss Danika left early in the morning. She said that there are things she must tend to and that you needn’t worry,” the butler said.
After Graham announced Danika’s identity to the public, she was now the eldest daughter.
As for Jolene, she was only the second eldest.
Graham nodded.He didn’t press any more questions.He knew that Danika had her own things to do.
Rowena, however, was unsatisfied.She scoffed and said, “What can she be so busy with so early in the morning? It can’t be a scandal, can it? She needs to know her place as a daughter of the Zellweger family.”
She was suggesting that Danika was from a small town and that her actions were questionable.
Graham looked at her and said coldly, ‘Do you think Danika is as useless as that daughter of yours? Without the Zellwegers backing her up, she built an empire of her own.She is a famous doctor in Parrington, and she had performed surgery on Mr.Cruz.She has her own company, too.”
Rowena was provoked by those words.
“Who knows if that’s true? And she was relying on men to get that company.You know she’s been divorced before.That ex-husband of hers is powerful in Parrington.She could have been relying on him.”
Rowena had investigated every detail about Danika and had spread the information out.
Danika was now the laughingstock of the elites of Bardoff City.
She grew up in a village and was even divorced.Even if she had returned to the Zellwegers and became their eldest daughter, she would be looked down upon.With a slam, Graham banged his utensils on the table.He glared at Rowena.
