Rowena was incensed.
“What right does Danika have to be part of the Zellwegers? She’s just the daughter of that bitch!”
A slap sounded in the air.
Rowena nearly lost her footing because of the slap, and she stared at Graham in disbelief.
Despite Graham’s dislike for her all these years, he had never laid his hands on her.
But now…
Danika had just arrived, and he was hitting her.
What else would happen in the future? She didn’t dare imagine what would happen.She only thought of her daughter, Jolene.She couldn’t let Graham give everything to Danika.
Graham didn’t regret his slap.He looked at her coldly.
“All these years, you never learned to respect people.”
“Don’t get too cocky, Graham.Everyone knows what you’re planning.”
Rowena straightened her back and looked at him intently.Graham said nothing.She continued, “You’ve given her two insignificant companies today and permitted her to move to Zellweger Castle.But what about tomorrow? Are you going to give her the entire family?”
“She’s my daughter.Can’t I give her my company?”
Graham was indeed planning for this.
Only Danika was deserving of his empire.
As for Jolene, Graham didn’t think that she was undeserving.
Instead, he felt that she was incapable.
If he were to entrust the Zellwegers to her, they would file for bankruptcy within two years.
Although he hated the Zellwegers, he had sacrificed many of his years building it.He didn’t want something like that to happen.
Unfortunately, Rowena knew nothing of it.
The moment she heard Graham’s words, she grew agitated.
“Fine.Danika is your daughter, but isn’t Jolene your daughter, too? How could you pick a favorite? “
Rowena stared at him, her eyes red.She wished she could claw Danika apart.
Graham was calm in the face of her anger.
“You know of Jolene’s capabilities.There is no point in entrusting the Zellwegers to her.”
“You didn’t let her work in the company all these years, and you never got anyone to mentor her.You labeled her a good-for- nothing rich kid, but now you’re complaining about her capabilities.You planned all this, didn’t you, Graham?”
Rowena was thinking about all that had happened.
It was no wonder that no matter how bratty Jolene got, Graham would merely say a few words and spend no effort mending her ways.
Rowena thought that Graham had long anticipated for Jolene to become useless so that he could make Danika his heir.
The more Rowena thought about it, the more she felt that Graham was evil.He’d even scheme against his own daughter.Was he even human at this point?
You’ve Changed a Lot
Graham couldn’t be bothered to answer Rowena’s accusatory questions.
“Would Jolene have turned out like this if not fora mother like you? Why don’t you reflect on your own faults and stop blaming me? You haven’t changed one bit all these years, Rowena.” She would never think that there was anything wrong with herself.
Anything that happened would always be someone else’s fault.She would never be to blame.
“Yes.I have not changed one bit.Didn’t you know that?”
Rowena smiled coldly.
“But you’ve changed a lot, Graham.”
They glared at each other, neither backing down.It was only when the assistant came knocking that Graham said, “Danika is coming to dinner tonight.Get the cook to prepare a few more dishes.”
“Graham Zellweger!” Rowena glared at him.
Was he actually telling her to be a host to Danika now? “Don’t forget your place, Rowena.Since you’ve married into the Zellwegers, you’re one of us now.You will do as I say, got it?”
Graham looked at her coldly, his eyes frosty.He was no longer the pleasant Graham from before.Right now, he was the head of the Zellwegers.He was a presence feared by the world.
Rowena turned pale.She wished to argue, but she found no reason to retort.
Graham continued, “Don’t think you have the Glasses backing you up.
Even if they protect you, Rowena, they won’t go against me.
It seems you haven’t learned this lesson even after all these years.”
Perhaps the Glasses wouldn’t mind helping Rowena out here and there, but they weren’t helping her because she was part of the Glasses.
They helped because she was the matriarch of the Zellweger family.
They had to help because of that.
How pitiful of Rowena to think that they had her back.
Rowena didn’t argue even after a long time.
Graham waved her off.
“Go away and do the things you’re supposed to do.You will not worry about anything else.”
Rowena turned and left, but she was not convinced.She thought that all of this was Danika’s fault.
Things would not have become like this if she hadn’t appeared out of the blue.
The truth was, Rowena didn’t really want Danika to die.
If she was honestly only here to be one of the Zellwegers’ daughters, Rowena would not have so much as bothered.
But now? Now Graham was prepared to hand the Zellwegers over to her.
How could Rowena accept this? She couldn’t just watch her daughter, Jolene, suffer like this.
In the office, Graham didn’t know of Rowena’s thoughts.
However, in order to understand her, he said to the assistant, “Get someone to keep an eye on her.
Do not give her the chance to do anything to Danika.”
“Yes, sir.”
The assistant added, “Quite a few people know that you have given Danika two of your companies, and they are calling to ask about your relationship.How should we respond?”
Graham was already prepared for this question.
“Make our relationship public.Say that she is my long-lost daughter.”
The assistant was stunned but said nothing.He left soon after.
Graham felt upset that he could not make Danika’s mother’s identity known, but he had no choice.
They hadn’t married.
If they knew that Danika was not his and Rowena’s elder daughter, Danika would be reduced to an illegitimate child.
People would point and stare.
Danika had already suffered so much.

It was night and Eustace drove Danika to Zellweger Castle.
“Be careful.Call me if anything happens.I’ll be right here.”
With his identity, it would not be appropriate for him to follow her inside.The only thing he could do was stay at the entrance.
Danika, who was opening the door, heard this and turned.
