They went into the office complex.
Danika went into the elevator and pressed a button.Eustace said nothing as he followed her.
Soon after, the elevator stopped, and they walked out.
Danika looked at the half-renovated area and said, “This is the Zelliots’ office complex.”
Eustace was stunned. He took a closer look and realized that the Zelliots’ name was on the signboards.
Quickly, he understood what Danika meant.
“Are you planning to let the Zelliots move to Bardoff City?”
“Yes.They’ll always be controlled in Parrington.”
Here, Paul’s power was diminished.
And now that she was returning to the Zellweger family, it meant that she would be able to protect Stephanie and her family.
Eustace looked at Danika, his heart in a jumble. Then, he sighed in exasperation.
“You shouldn’t have told me.” He and Paul were friends.
Wasn’t Danika afraid that he would tell Paul? If Paul got the heads up, Stephanie would not even be able to leave, much less move to Bardoff City.
“I believe you.”
Danika had done it on purpose. She had deliberately told Eustace to see if he would tell Paul about it.
If they were to take Stephanie away, they would need Eustace’s help. But if he interfered and ended up helping Paul, she might not be able to take Stephanie away, and things would get much worse.
Unacceptable
Eustace knew what she was thinking, and it was precisely because of it that he was feeling torn.
“You should know that Paul is my friend.” And they were close friends.
Danika nodded and looked at him, smiling.
“So, are you planning to tell him?” Their gazes met.
Danika was smiling, but Eustace was not.Time passed.
They didn’t know how long.
Eustace smiled exasperatedly.
“No.”
The corners of Danika’s lips lifted.
“I knew you weren’t the irrational type.
This clearly shows that the one in the wrong is Paul.
“Well…you may be misunderstanding him, too.Stephanie is not living as horribly in his house as you think she is.”
At least to the extent of his understanding, Stephanie didn’t care to be polite to Paul. They went about doing their own things, neither of them really suffering.
Danika didn’t care about it.
“If he honestly liked her, he should have pursued her and given her a chance to choose, not force her to be by his side with his power.”
Stephanie had no choice right now.She had to agree with Paul, or else her family would be destroyed.
That was what Danika found unacceptable.
“That makes sense.” Eustace understood.
No one liked being controlled.
“When are you planning on letting them move?” he asked.
He was wondering if he had to give Paul a heads up, maybe send him off on errands? He didn’t want to be clamped in the middle of Paul and Danika.
Danika thought about it and looked at the renovations.
“It should be soon.Once I settle my business here in Bardoff City, I’ll bring them over from Parrington.”
“Okay,” Eustace said nothing much.
Danika had already made her decision.
There would be no point in wasting his breath.
They left the office complex.
Eustace brought Danika to lunch at a restaurant in the sky.
Danika looked down at the streets, a feeling of awe washing over her.
The city was glamorous. She didn’t know if she’d maintain a steady foothold here.
Eustace was thinking differently, though their thoughts were similar. He wondered how best to grow stronger quickly so that Danika would have someone backing her up against the Zellwegers.
Both engrossed in their thoughts, it was not a very cheery meal.
On the other side of the city, news spread that Graham had signed off two of his companies to Danika.
The shareholders were mutinous, but they dared not voice out their opinions.
After all, Zellweger Inc was where it was today because of Graham.
Besides, those two companies were tiny, not worthy enough of an argument.
Rowena thought differently.
Graham didn’t cover up his actions of giving Danika the two companies.
With such a sudden appearance of someone with the same name, people would start speculating.
They were bombarded with phone calls asking for clarification on Danika and Graham’s relationship.
Even Jolene received such calls. She was dazed.
Could Danika really have ties with her father? She was afraid. She hated Danika so much.
How could she share a bond with her father? There was no way! She couldn’t accept it.
When Rowena found Graham, he was just finished with a meeting.
He wasn’t surprised to see her.
“Why are you here?”
“Don’t you know? What do you mean by this? Are you really planning on letting Danika come back?”
She suppressed her anger, trying hard not to explode.
Graham looked up at her, not answering.
Instead, he asked, “I haven’t even had the chance to ask you about what you mean by sending someone out to kill her even though you knew she’s my daughter! Do you think I’ve grown afraid of you, Rowena?”
He’d Even Scheme Against His Own Daughter
Rowena didn’t think she’d be able to keep Danika’s assault a secret from Graham, but she wasn’t afraid. So what if he knew? He couldn’t kill her.
Besides, nothing had happened to Danika.
And even if she was hurt, Graham would not dare touch Rowena. She didn’t say any of this out loud. She was not as stupid as that.
“I don’t know what you’re saying,” she said, denying it.
“Ash has confessed she was carrying out your orders. Are you still going to deny it?”
Graham looked at her coldly. He knew long ago that Rowena Glass was not a good person, but he didn’t think she would be cruel to that extent.
Rowena was stunned, but she kept her expression neutral.
“Are you going to believe everything she says? Who knows if she’s been bribed to say that?”
Graham knew that Rowena wouldn’t admit it.It didn’t matter; he didn’t care.
“I will make it publicly known that Danika is my daughter. She’ll move into Zellweger Castle today. From now on, she is a respected daughter of the Zellweger family. If you dare attack her again, I will make the Glasses pay!”
He had the power to carry out his threats, which was why he dared to make them.
“Fuck you, Graham Zellweger!”
