River roused Liora, who was still sound asleep after the call. She then got both of them washed up and started packing their clothes.

hey saw her, they She went to wake Tyler and Axel, only to find them engrossed in their laptops. When they quickly shut their laptops.

River leaned against the door and asked, “Don’t you think both of you are working too hard?”

Tyler jumped off his chair. “You’ve got it wrong, Mommy. We were actually developing software.”

River raised an eyebrow. “What kind of software?”

Axel chimed in. “It’s gaming software.”

Tyler thought, ‘Axel, you could be a little less honest!”

Tyler nervously clutched River’s top, wanting to explain himself.

River bent down and pinched his cheek. I’m not upset. Just don’t spend too long on the laptop, or it’ll affect your eyesight.”

Tyler rubbed his cheek. “I understand, Mommy. Are you going out?”

River explained, “I’m here to pack for you. We’re going on a trip. Axel, are your medicines downstairs?”

Axel nodded. “I can pack them myself.”

River was hesitant. “I’m not entirely confident in you doing it on your own. Go downstairs and have something to eat. Take your sister with you.”

The two kids nodded and took Liora downstairs for breakfast.

By the time River finished packing and joined them downstairs, they had already finished eating.

Paige and Alex were watching the children play with their toys.

are you sure i Alex exclaimed, “Paige, not carrying triplets in there?”

Paige retorted, “Would you like to try carrying triplets to full term? You have no idea how tired River was when she was pregnant with them.”

Alex chuckled. “I’d do it for you if I could, but I don’t have that capability.”

Paige rolled her eyes. “Then please stop with the sarcastic remarks.”

She noticed River descending the stairs and said, “River, is Kenny not joining us?”

River shook her head. “He just wants to sleep in when he doesn’t have to work.”

“Alright then. Let’s go now.” Paige put her arm around River’s.

River glanced around. “Where’s Noah?”

Paige explained, “Alex said he’s got work, so he’ll join us later.”

“Got it. I’ll go check with Eira,” River said and headed to the kitchen.

After their quick chat, she told the kids, “Time to go!”

Kenny, who had been standing barefoot upstairs, quickly changed and came downstairs after River left. He bumped into Eira as she exited the kitchen.

Kenny asked, “Are they gone? Are you sure they’ve left?”

Eira looked puzzled. “Why are you so nervous? Are you planning something without River knowing?”

Kenny mumbled, “I’m not her boyfriend, but there are things I’d rather keep from her.”

Eira narrowed her eyes. “You seem off, Kenny.”

“Don’t ask too many questions. You’re just a kid. I’m going out, bye! I’ll bring food for you later.” Kenny patted Eira’s head absentmindedly.

Eira said, “I won’t be home today. Don’t bother bringing me food.”

Kenny waved and said, “Alright, got it.”

After leaving the house, Kenny got in his car and made a phone call. The other party picked up, and Kenny asked, “Where are you? I’ll come pick you up.”

Fifteen minutes later, Kenny arrived at an ordinary–looking diner. He checked the storefront and entered with a frown, only relaxing when he spotted the woman with her back to him.

Sitting across from her, Kenny asked, “Why this diner? I can take you to a nicer restaurant.”

“I like it here. Order whatever you want,” the woman replied casually, taking her time to set down her utensils.

Kenny nodded and called the waitress to order a sandwich.

The waitress said, “Certainly,”

Kenny turned back to the woman and asked, “So, is it just a sandwich today, Yuliana?”

“No, I want to know why you’re living with River,” Yuliana said, looking at Kenny with indifference.

Kenny was taken aback. “I’m too lazy to rent a place, and G is a very good friend of mine. I’m comfortable living at her place.”

“Do you not like her?” Yuliana asked.

“I like her as a friend, but not romantically,” Kenny replied without hesitation. “She’s my best friend.”

Yuliana pressed further, “Who can confirm this?”

Kenny grew frustrated and ran his hand through his hair. “Neil can vouch for it. I’ve known G for over five years. Are you jealous?”

“No, I’m just curious about the kind of person my cousin is.”

Kenny frowned. “You can find plenty of online comments about her character and you’re family. Why doubt her character?”

Yuliana sneered. “I don’t trust online comments, and I know she has a close relationship with a man.”

“Dr. Wilson?” Kenny asked.

Yuliana nodded. “I think so. Am I mistaken?”

Kenny explained, “Dr. Wilson might have intentions, but G doesn’t share those feelings. If they were to be together, why wait until now?

Yuliana scoffed. “The real question is, did both of them have those intentions at some point? River distanced herself from Scott when she got closer to Noah, treating the men around her as backups. What do you call someone like that, if not a bad person?”

Kenny disagreed, saying. “No, she’s not. Did you ask me out just to discuss this?”

Yuliana replied calmly, “I’m just objectively analyzing her.”

“I don’t need your analysis. I know River well enough. She’s not the loose woman you think she is. Do you know how hard it was for her to raise her children abroad on her own? While you were enjoying the good life, she was eating bread to afford formula for her kids,” Kenny said, growing angry.

“Didn’t my cousin financially support her? Why are you defending her?” Yullana asked.

Kenny chuckled. “Ask your cousin if River took any money from him. I get it now.”

Yuliana remained silent, looking at Kenny with indifference.

Kenny continued. “You approached me under the guise of wanting to date me to gather information, right? I’ll just say it. River is not the person you think she is. It was Daniella who drove her to leave the country. She supported her children’s living expenses, Lily, and herself all on her own. She did me a huge favor for a small amount of money when we first met.”

“You’re claiming that she had an affair with Scott? Let me clarify. River turned down Scott’s offer of financial support at the time. Do you think they were together all the time? Scott was focused on his education and career while he was around. He would visit River occasionally and bring her food.

“It’s common knowledge that River is proud and prefers to endure difficulties rather than accept sponsorship. Unlike you, a heiress, River is not. She dated Noah before because of her gambling father and hospitalized mother. I can’t understand people like you, accusing her based on trivial rumors. Do you think you have the right to do that?”

Kenny stood up and stated, “This discussion ends here. I must have been blind to have fallen for you. It’s over, you idiot!”

Yuliana’s expression was unpleasant after being berated.

‘Is River really like this? I find it hard to believe. If she truly valued her pride, why did she get involved with Noah in those years? Was it due to financial stress? What a joke! She was more than capable of being a chief secretary, right? Wasn’t her salary enough to support her family?

The more Yuliana thought about it, the more disgusted she became.

‘It’s a shame that River didn’t pursue acting with her incredible skills. I won’t ever allow someone like her back into the family. She’s a disgrace to the family and my late Aunt Eleanor. On the other hand, she doesn’t deserve to be with Noah.”

With these thoughts, Yuliana took out her phone and opened Noah’s contact.

She pondered and began typing a text message.

Just as she was about to send it, she realized she lacked enough evidence to expose River’s alleged promiscuous behavior.

Rather than confronting River directly, she decided to obtain evidence from Scott.

At Xander Residence.

Greta awaited Yuliana in the living room for dinner. However, Yullana didn’t return for quite some time. When she was about to call Yuliana, Neil entered the house.

Greta stood up and asked, “You’re back, Neil. Have you been in touch with Yulla recently?”

Neil replied, “No, Aunt Greta. Is something wrong?”

Greta let out a sigh. “I haven’t seen much of Yulia lately. I have a feeling she’s dating, but she won’t tell me anything. Neil, I’m concerned she might be making the wrong choices. Can you please talk to her?”

Neil asked, “Isn’t she home today?”

Greta took a seat and replied, “No. She came home late on Lundi Gras and left after waking up on Mardi Gras.”

Neil suddenly realized the gravity of the situation. “Understood, Aunt Greta. I’ll reach out to her.”

Greta said, “Thank you for doing this, Neil. She listens to you.”

Nell patted Greta’s shoulder and assured her, “Don’t worry, Aunt Greta.”

Upon saying that, Neil headed upstairs. As he passed Daniella’s former room, he stopped and contemplated for a while before entering the room. To his surprise, Daniella’s belongings were still there.

Neil approached the bed and reached under it, discovering the voice recorder he had placed there earlier.

He exited the room and headed to his own room.

It had been some time since he retrieved the voice recordings. Neil transferred them to his laptop and utilized the voice–to–text function to call Yuliana.

Yuliana answered after a brief delay and asked, “Neil, why did you decide to call me today?”

Neil chuckled. “Where are you, Yulia?”

Yuliana replied, “I’m about to have dessert with my friends.”

Neil continued. “Is that so? It’s a shame. There’s a new ice cream parlor opening on Marriott Street. I heard it’s quite spacious. Since you’re already out, forget it then.”

Yuliana objected, “No, please! I’d love to go. It’s been a while since you treated me to a nice meal!”

Neil laughed. “Would you like me to pick you up?”

Yuliana eagerly agreed, “Sure! I’ll send you my location!”

The voice–to–text translation was finished once Yuliana shared her location.
