“I really do not like going back to things especially when I’ve got certain  opinions about them.”

“I’ve always disliked you and thought that you were of no good and seeing you  here trying to make up for everything and trying to prove that you really love  Vee?”

“It’s definitely a lot to take in, especially when I’ve made bad conclusions  about you. It’s so hard to admit that all my thoughts were wrong and that you  are not really a bad person.”

“Just know that I’ve got my eyes on you. If you do anything to hurt Victoria,  then you will have me to deal with!”

“Does that mean you’ve forgiven me and that we are now on good terms?” “You guys okay?” Lara’s voice came through.

“Yeah!” Gabriel answered, looking away from Oscar.

“I was about to check on Vee, Gabriel said, after which he made his way into  the ward.

“Was he giving you a hard time?” Lara asked, standing where Gabriel was  previously occupying.

“He was but I think we are finally cool. Not his fault. He already had an awful  mentality about me so it’s understandable.”

“I’m glad you both are making progress”

“Yeah, me too. He means so much to Vee and I want Vee to be happy. That’s  why I’m trying my best to see that I am on good terms with him.”

Lara nodded.

“Congratulations, by the way

“About the twins.” She clarified after seeing how confused he was. Oscar smiled proudly. Thank you.”

“I’m so excited for you both

“Me too. I mean, It’s so crazy. My mind was set for just one baby and now I  am getting to know that we are expecting two Babies.”

Lara chuckled, “Yeah, sure, you are going to have your hands full

Oscar smiled even more. I know and God knows I am deeply excited for this  journey ahead of me. It might not come really easy but having Vee beside me  just gives me the confidence that we will do real good.”

“Definitely! And I’m excited for you both. It’s so glaring that you and Vee are  meant to be together and I wish you both all the happiness in the world.”

“Thank you. And Thank you so much for all you do for my babe. I’m really  grateful”

Lara smiled, “You are welcome.”

Hardly had Lara gone out of the ward when Vee saw her elder brother stroll  in

She rolled her eyes away from his sight.

“How are you doing?” He stood by her bedside.

“I’m good.”

“You’re being cold.”

“The last time I remember, we weren’t friends exactly.” Vicky accused, looking  him in the eye.

“I’m sorry.”

“For?”

“For everything I did to you.”

Vee didn’t say anything so Gabriel continued talking.

“I’m sorry for acting like a douchebag, for not being patient, for sending that  Doctor to your office, for all the things I did and said to Oscar, and for every  horrible thing I did that I can’t even remember right now.”

“I’m sorry, please forgive me.”

“Victoria?!” He called out her name when She said nothing.

“On one condition.”

“What Condition?” Gabriel asked, feeling uneasy already.

“You will apologize and make up with Oscar.”

“I’m cool with your baby Daddy.”

“Don’t call him that! You know the right words to call him so do what is  appropriate!”

“Yeah, I know you really love him but he honestly has no status in your life  right now.”

“You are sounding so annoying. All I can see is jealousy! Why would you even  feel that way about Oscar? He’s a good man!”

“I’m not jealous. There is nothing to be jealous of about him. I can’t come in  the way of two people who love each other so much.”

“You know I love him so much and then you disrespect him every time to freak  me out! You are not being fair!!”

“I agree that I might have disrespected him in the past but not anymore. I’ve  started to see him as a promising man”

“Then why do you keep tagging him as my ‘baby daddy”?”

“Because that is what he is!” He responded as a matter of fact. “Stop doing this, Gabriel. I don’t like the sound of that!”

“Sorry that excess you don’t like it but that is how I see him until he comes to seek your hand in  marriage.”

At this point, Vicky had no idea why she was blushing when in fact she was  meant to be mad at Gabriel.

“What do you mean? Don’t you think you are taking this too far?” “You know I state things the way they are!”

“The last time I remember, you both were engaged but it was ruined. And now  that he is here, I wouldn’t want to qualify him as your boyfriend because I  don’t like that word. And for him to become your fiance, he has to come  through me. Until then, he remains your baby Daddy in my perspective.”

“You are so impossible, Gabriel,” Vicky said, trying to hide her blush.

“You are so stern with him. You make it so hard for him to even want to  approach you.”

“You are taking his side so much. I see that you are excited to make it official  with him.”

“I didn’t say so. I just don’t like the way you are treating him.”

“Even a blind person can tell that you love Oscar so much and it is so  impossible to be the Vivilian between you both.”

“But the good news is that I don’t hate him as I used to. I have opened my  mind to the fact that I am going to be seeing him often. I’m learning to accept  him in my space.”

“Good! Or else, I am going to let the twins know that you are making their  Daddy go through hell.”

Gabriel frowned. “The twins? What twins?”

“Holy shit! You have to be kidding me.” He voiced out when he saw Vee  caress her belly.

“Wow, come?”

“Oh, chill, I mean I’m aware that you and Oscar did some very nasty things for  you to get here so I don’t want those details. What I’m trying to say is,”

Gabriel sighed. “Weren’t you expecting one baby?”

“Turned out one was hiding behind the other. You are going to be an uncle to  twins.”

There was silence between the duo for a while.

“To think I was against you keeping the baby! Holy shit!” Gabriel said with  regret, massaging his temple where he stood.

“I was such an asshole.”

“Yes, you were!” Vee responded almost immediately.

Gabriel sighed, taking a seat on the chair beside Victoria’s bedside.

“I know I do not deserve to be in front of you right now but I want you to know  that I’m deeply sorry for everything. I was more than an asshole to you and  I’m glad you didn’t take my advice then.”

“Afeel so disgusted with myself right now, thinking of the fact that I sent a  Doctor to you at the office.”

“I’m so sorry, Vee.”

“I don’t want to dwell in the past anymore. I won’t lie to you that that period  was traumatizing to me but I’m glad for the way everything turned out. Not the accident though. But I’m glad that myself and  the babies are safe.”

“I just want to be happy and I can’t have my brother and the man I love being  enemies with each other.”

“I’m cool with Oscar. I told him earlier. I will apologize and make amends with  him.”

“That’s comforting to hear.”

“Thank you for being so positive throughout. I know I wasn’t of great help but  Thank you for staying sane and keeping it real.”
